Are you serious? What about not having no damn time outs left in the 4th qt. I never thought i would say this but who ever made that decision to hand off the ball with just under under 1 minute left need to be criticized. not the kids. This game was lost by a damn poor coaching decision. and they need to know that at the grid iron meeting too. but we had a few players that need to sit a game also. Congrats to Brookfield the better coached team tonight.DirtyGhettoKid;899135 wrote:HE TOLD THEM IT WAS 'THEIR FAULT THEY LOST'

How about not even getting a damn first down in OT cuz you call the same effin play 4 times straight?!reddevil90;899171 wrote:Are you serious? Why change your longsnapper for no reason and continue to stick with the new one when things weren't going right?! Today wast a damn game to experiment with!
I never thought I'd see this staff outcoached but they looked like the return of the Protopapa Regime!!
Who needs to sit and why? -
Gardens35I wish that Lets_Go_Devils was still around to get his take on all of this. And some graphics too. That kid is ghetto dirty.

There was a fw kids that walked of the field and refused to line up and hand shake the other team. Thats real bad sportsmanship in my book. The radio announcers said that Campbell could not keep there heads. they kept getting into it with the players and flags going every place. They even said the bench started to clear out for Campbell. They also said the coaches looked like they lost control of the game in the Th qt. and they could not believe that they didn't knee it. and what was also weird was the kids on the side lines was celebrating and they said that they better hold off for a few knees cause the way this game has gone that nothing is certain. then beam they fumble and the radio announcers just was like are you kidding me this is just the most strangest game they ever witnessed. they wouldn't say it but they wanted to and you can tell they were meaning it was a very bad coaching call to run the ball.
sorry for the typos i just aint into fixing it.. deal with it. -
BigDean1My hat is off to Brookfield. Their defense is solid. They faced some adversity after losing Quinlan in the first quarter. They responded and never quit. I, like many of the Campbell huddlers question the play calling in this game. I feel we went to the well too often with Ja'les in the pony formation. We've got four, sometimes five other kids on the field who can make plays. And I have no idea what we were thinking by not taking a knee with a minute left in the game, a six point lead, first down, Brookfield with just one time out left. From my perspective, the integrity of this team and the season is going to be tested during the upcoming week. I sense that there is some frustration and blame being passed around. This coming week will be pivotal for this team. If we stay together and beat LaBrae on Friday, things should be okay. If there are residuals still festering from this loss during the upcoming week of practice, and if we should lose to LaBrae, this season could unravel. Adversity is here.

oldschoolreddevCongrats to Brookfield. Good luck the rest of the way. As far as Campbell, back to the drawing board. Penalties & mental breakdowns caught up to us. Time to regroup and get ready for Labrae.

BTrevCampbell's hopes of hosting a playoff game may have gone up in smoke. Without the points from Brookfield, I can't see them finishing in the top 4 in Region 17. Now, they'll likely have to win out just to guarantee themselves a playoff spot.
Adversity is right. There's no more room for error. -
1_beastI thought Campbell was gonna blow this game out of the water after the reading that led up to the game...hmmmph

omemorialhighcampbell you are not as good as you think. players you are not as good as you think. staff you are not as good as you think. let me tell you something if the qb plays the whole game campbell gets blown out. pathetic. and you still had a chance to win. zetts were you drunk? they have 9 guys in the box, no safety help. you run one play action the whole game. im sorry but this game was a breakdown in every aspect of the game and the credit goes to brookfield. much better staff, much better FOOTBALL players. they had us scouted so good it was unreal. and sikora keeps talking about all these plays we havent run yet??? looks like that was a lie. you are very limited on offense, and finally the last thing...if you dont teach your linebackers how to read then you will run into a coach that can destroy you like yesterday. im sorry to say this but the linebackers are the main problem with this defense, they cant read and react. its awful blitzing the same gap every down, a smart coach will destroy you. thats all sikoras fault in my opinion...that should be taught at the lower levels, and the lack of commitment to teach that will cost you more games down the road. Labrae is your season. Girard is a loss. The rest of your games are winnable, the only tough one i see is struthers just because its a rivalry game. but 8-2 might get you in. but you really really choked one up. sikora, zetts you need to quit thinking you Gods gift to high school football and take a realistic look at your weaknesses and make every effort to correct them. as coaches you are to put these kids in the position to execute plays, and yesterday you gave them little chance. its simple math guys...if they got 9 or 10 in the box and you only have 7 blockers your in trouble. sikora preached the reason why we ran every down against girard last year is because they kept two safeties in the game and we had more men in the box. well wouldnt the opposite also be true? reality check time fellas. good luck at labrae, do you have any heart? i guess we will see.

More often than not, the character of a team is defined the week after a loss. I point to the Salem game of last season. After losing that game the kids stepped up and won out. We need to repeat that this season. The seniors need to step up now and lead. To those of you who have put this team on a pedestal from the first day of summer calling it the greatest team in decades, I hope you have learned your lesson.omemorialhigh;899486 wrote:campbell you are not as good as you think. players you are not as good as you think. staff you are not as good as you think. let me tell you something if the qb plays the whole game campbell gets blown out. pathetic. and you still had a chance to win. zetts were you drunk? they have 9 guys in the box, no safety help. you run one play action the whole game. im sorry but this game was a breakdown in every aspect of the game and the credit goes to brookfield. much better staff, much better FOOTBALL players. they had us scouted so good it was unreal. and sikora keeps talking about all these plays we havent run yet??? looks like that was a lie. you are very limited on offense, and finally the last thing...if you dont teach your linebackers how to read then you will run into a coach that can destroy you like yesterday. im sorry to say this but the linebackers are the main problem with this defense, they cant read and react. its awful blitzing the same gap every down, a smart coach will destroy you. thats all sikoras fault in my opinion...that should be taught at the lower levels, and the lack of commitment to teach that will cost you more games down the road. cmhs_prideBigdean I am just amazed. I really am. That tells me no confidence in your other ten athletes.
Adversity fellas..........we'll see if I am wrong or right from my comments two weeks ago. -
omemorialhighsorry fellas, but i just really feel if the qb plays we get smoked. we were scouted so well it was unbelievable, we ran nothing different. even though sikora has been touting this expansize playbook. the bottomline is this is took us to get to halftime to figure out how to stop their option. that shouldve been done all week in practice. goes right back to the LBs not knowing how to read and react. you made your bed not teaching these kids coming up, now you have to sleep in it. the buck stops with sikora, if he has allowed his staff to do whatever they want at those lower levels and not teach their lbs how to read then thats his fault. just because its eighth grade football does not mean you shouldnt be teaching these things. now look what you have. i think the staff at the lower levels needs revamped. i still believe their is a guy in the stands that can turn this defense into a state championship contender. hell never do it i dont think...but its a shame theres a mind out there that can really benefit this team.

cmhs_prideI disagree slightly. I dont think we get killed if Quinlan stays in. Number 8 did a very good job of mirroring him. Very good. We adjusted defensively in the second half regardless of who the QB was.
Other than that I hear ya. And if I am right, I know who you are talking about. I dont know he has the time and I honestly dont think some of the administration has the brains.
My curiosity now leans towards how they act with one loss under their belt in a wild finish. If it is what I think unfortunately....well....hope I am wrong. The way the game ended is very annoying. I will never forget that horrible call. But what I really wonder is if that handshake incident is a sign of things to come. -
reddevil90What? cause we lost we don't have the best team in a long time? Guys you all know who cause us to lose the game... It had nothing to do with the team at all. The better team lost. the speed of Campbell should have been a big factor also we have a good QB that should have been utilized. We won the game despite being so unprepared by the coaches not using the timeouts right. and also getting two delay of game calls back to back before running a play. and then again the coaches did not take a knee. This Campbell team should have had a field trip with a much slower Brookfield team. I still think this team has what it takes. but the coaches don't seem to have control of the kids and make stupid decisions. there was a lot of mistakes made in the 2nd playoff game last year. The coaches here just might not be all that we thought. there good and better then we ever had since Rozum. but this has me scratching my head worse then last years second round playoff. you have a chance to see whats going on in the first half! your down by one td and you adjust. there was a mountain of open pace in the middle of the field to throw to. Wow . just wow. this loss is the worst i have ever felt since 89. coaches make mistakes sometimes. But dude your blind if you cant see this was a coaching blunder. What happens next week will determine the rest of the season. we can beat girard! Will we i doubt it with what just happened. That makes you question your coaches ability to make hard decisions. this was not a hard decision. ITS A NO BRAINIER> LINE UP IN THE VICTORY POSITION!!!!!

If this program is to continue to come back, they've got to teach things at the lower levels, and I mean beginning with the 7th and 8th grade. Hell, start teaching as much of it that we can even with the Little Red Devils. Run the same offense, defense, teach the LBS to read and react from the very bottom up. Brookfield watched film and saw that our linebackers blitzed on every down. That's a tell-tale sign that they don't know how to read. We got away with it for the first three weeks. We didn't vs. Brookfield. LaBrae is a very big game. We have to win it.omemorialhigh;899631 wrote:sorry fellas, but i just really feel if the qb plays we get smoked. we were scouted so well it was unbelievable, we ran nothing different. even though sikora has been touting this expansize playbook. the bottomline is this is took us to get to halftime to figure out how to stop their option. that shouldve been done all week in practice. goes right back to the LBs not knowing how to read and react. you made your bed not teaching these kids coming up, now you have to sleep in it. the buck stops with sikora, if he has allowed his staff to do whatever they want at those lower levels and not teach their lbs how to read then thats his fault. just because its eighth grade football does not mean you shouldnt be teaching these things. now look what you have. i think the staff at the lower levels needs revamped. i still believe their is a guy in the stands that can turn this defense into a state championship contender. hell never do it i dont think...but its a shame theres a mind out there that can really benefit this team. -
OhioPenalties killed brookfield last night in the 3rd quarter they had a about 4 first downs in one drive and had the ball still on their own 15... Wuth quinlan in it could have been much worse just simply cause mosora. Ame in and simply could not complete a pass and cmpbell realized tht and packed it in but would not have been able to do that with quinlan back there. The labrae game is huge!
-
omemorialhighI agree with Ohio...the qb wouldve made a big difference. I dont want to take anything away from the backup, cus he was pretty good himself
-
Spread All DayIf coach sikora and coach zetts missed all those blocks and tackles I would agree with a lot of you. The speed was not a factor bc the warriors did not let it be a factor. I wouldn't say Campbell was the better team, certainly not last night they weren't. Campbell had field possession all game and did nothin with it. Brookfield came out prepared and ready to play. How dare anyone try to take away from that.

cmhs_prideI will tell you guys what...you want to blame the coaches for everything that happened last night you go right ahead.
Some of their decisions will make you scratch your head for years. I have no idea why they made the calls they did at times. But damn, why dont we get rid of the whole staff since they had a bad game. You are right, they flat out dropped the ball in that game. But I will take them and leave them right where they are because you people better remember one thing. They are the reason you have a chance to argue about a good team that lost a close game. How easy you forget about three years ago and the decade before that. No need to argue back then when it came to a weekly 56-12 beating on a regular basis. So please, air out how annoyed you are at the calls by the staff....then zip your mouth shut unless you can do a better job. They dropped the ball, Alright....they screwed up. Damn. I understand saying it once or twice...I did myself. But some of you keep bringing it up.
In case you werent watching, we dropped two probable TD passes right in our arms, and then fumbled a quick slant pass that would have resulted in no less then first and goal. We killed ourselves several times with unsportmanlike conduct calls. And yes the refs were not exactly stellar. But that was for both teams in my opinion. We also could not snap a ball to save our lives. We are jumping up and down on the sidelines when the game is not over....and then the walk off the field without shaking hands. You better worry a little more about who the leaders are going to be on this team real fast...and a little less about a bad call from the coach. Trust me, the first problem will determine the season you will have from here on out. Games over, take all your what if's and move on.
Labrae gentlemen........not Brookfield....LABRAE!! -
Gardens35IF you have players that walk off w/out shaking hands, and IF you have a staff that permits players to walk off w/out shaking hands, you've got more than a lack of good leadership.
-
oldschoolreddevCouldn't agree mote pride. How soon we forget how bad it was under Ryan & Protopapa. On to Labrae.

biggary1970i hear all this talk about campbell being the better team just not last night what game was you watching... brookfield controlled this game put together drives .campbell is is only A big play team they cant drive the ball you are rite on one thing they have speed and thats it !! STOP THAT AND YOU WIN !!!! And if im a cambell fan im ashamed of this team dont shake the warriors hands after getting beat shame on the players and MOST OF ALL COACHES !And for those players that posted early this week on this site looks like you kids know more about the game than most adults do on this site because i know one kid claimed the "o" line will determined the winner and it sure did !! there line won the battle it came down to who wanted it more guess who did BROOKFIELD !!!...one made a comment about the kids putting there numbers in there log on name.. well i hope you remembered the numbers because i did and those three were a BIG factor in this game they backed up every word they said
