Only trouble i can see with the campbell defense is if and thats if Brookfield is getting a couple first down running the read play of just simple stretch dive etc is if they fake the read and hit a wideopen reciever downfield..... Idc what defense that team is running if the run is working they are going to do whatever they can to stop it and it opens up oppurtunities for big plays.... Also with that being said that can be a huge play for the red devils if the warriors are just packing it in to stop hughes, this is prolly a great game brewing and alot of teams/media are looking past it and are clueless to what this game can do for both teams win/loss...... If Campbell losses they will come to realize they are beatable and will be alot better of a team if they get beat it will get the kids minds right, same goes for Brookfield.
I am very interested to see how the Campbell defense reacts to Brookfield's offensive scheme. Campbell's defensive front four has been playing exceptionally well. They've got two linebackers who can also make plays. And there is the free safety who can hit like a ton of bricks. And the entire defense is really fast. If the Red Devils remain disciplined on defense and keep the turnovers to a very minimum on offense, I foresee a Campbell victory. The thing about Campbell Memorial is they can offer so many different looks on offense which can really cause problems for a defense because of the speed Campbell has. Coach Zetts is a great offensive coordinator. And I am certain opponents have not seen nearly all of what is in the Campbell playbook. Without question, Ja'les Hughes is a player to key on. But with that being said, opponents have had very little success at stopping him or the Campbell offense. I firmly believe that Campbell's team speed will determine the outcome of this game. I am looking forward to a good one.

Have they played each other through the years?

I believe it's 22 times. Both schools were members of the Steel Valley Conference years ago. That's when most of the games between the two schools were played. 8 of the games between the two were played in the 1960's, when I believe Brookfield joined the SVC for a few years. Campbell was an independent from 1994 through 2005. In 2006 the Devils joined the Metro Athletic Conference. Campbell did not play Brookfield in 2006 and 2007, which are the only two seasons they were in the MAC. The MAC dissolved in 2008 and was renamed the All American Conference which was made up of teams from the Metro Athletic Conference, the Trumbull Athletic Conference, and East Liverpool. Since the All American Conference was formed, they have played each other every year. That may change starting next season with Jefferson Area joining the AAC, which means Campbell Memorial will have to drop one of its non conference opponents from the schedule. I do believe that Jefferson Area, South Range, and Ashtabula Edgewood are on the Campbell 2012 schedule. I am not certain if Mineral Ridge is. Therefore, I am not sure that Brookfield will be that team that comes off the Campbell schedule next season. Brookfield is no longer a member of the All American Conference. Here is the breakdown that I have. I believe it's right or very close to it. If so, this Friday night will be the 23rd meeting.
    1920's - 3 times
    1930's - 1 times
    1940's - 0
    1950's - 0
    1960's - 8
    1970's - 2
    1980's - 4
    1990's - 1
    2000's - 2
    2010's - 1

does anyone have an EASY way to get to the stadium...i can never figure out how to get there from campbell? also i think this is a game where reyes steps up his game and starts using his legs. he needs to step up in that regard. hes played within himself, now its time for him to play above himself.

Just take 616 thru Hubbard like your headed to Sharon. When you get to the first light in bfield where the Penn Ohio pharmacy is make a left and its right over the hill.
  • omemorialhigh
ok im still confused...lol do i veer to the left by the truck stop? or to i keep going straight like im going to sharon, sorry.

omemorialhigh, here are the directions I have used for years. Take 616 through Hubbard and through town until 616 becomes route 62. Follow route 62 past the I-80 interchange and Truckworld. Keep RIGHT on 62, going up the hill heading toward Sharon. Follow that until you pass the route 82 interchange. Once you pass that continue on for about half a mile or so. You will see a Circle K supermarket on the left. Drive past the Circle K to the 1st red light. Make a left at the red light and follow that road, which is Addison Street for a quarter mile or so. The parking lot and stadium will be on your left. The stadium is behind an old school building. Basically, once you get on 616 you are going to make just one left turn on your entire trip. Just stay on 62 and you can't get lost. Yes, it's Brookfield. But the stadium is actually in Masury. I would get there early if I were you. Seating is limited. Parking is too.

Basically what he is sayingis take 62 all all the way out when u see the circle k make a left at any of those streets and u run into it. Really easy

Alluding to a previous post, doesn't Campbell play the following teams next year, in no order.

    *Lakeview
    *Jefferson
    *Liberty
    *Girard
    *LaBrae
    *Champion
    *Newton Falls
    Edgewood
    South Range
    Struthers

    * = AAC Blue opponent

    Something like that?
  • DirtyGhettoKid
I'm not sure how long the South Range contract is. I assumed it was a home and home. I'm not a fan of the Edgewood games. Id much rather pickup Warren JFK and renew that rivalry.

Yeah that would be great. There was nothing like the old MVC games with JFK Struthers Canfield Salem Poland. Those games just made the season so much fun. All close teams and the best conference since the Steel Valley conference. Miss them old rivalry games. And each and every one of them games was treated like a rivalry. Todays games lack so much cause you don't see them come out and gather in the center of the field for a stare down. You would get flagged.

Wont make the game again guys, I'm not sure if i will make any if this situation does not get fixed soon. But i will always be there in spirit. I will be listening to the game on the net again. I wish life was easier. But good luck Devils ... I HAVE A FEELING!! That tomorrow will be a good night.

According to our head coach, South Range is on for two more years. I agree with you on Edgewood.

Best game ive seen in a very long time! With Brookfields Star QB out in the first with a broken collarbone they respond and beat the devils in OT 26-20 Brookfield moves on to 4-0 while campbell goes to 3-1
  • Spread All Day
Was in attendance. Brookfield has a great defense. Campbell had their chances, penaltys injuries, bad punting... But it was not to be tonight as the warriors take this game. Happy for them 4-0 and let me say they're a very good team..

lets see, you are up by a td with the ball, your opponent has only 1 timeout left, its 1st down 1 minute left: do you (a) take a knee and run out the clock and improve to 4-0, or (b) run a play resulting in a fumble that your opponent returns for a td to tie the game. hmmmmm, very hard decision coaches................dumbest decision i have ever seen! played out just like the movie "all the right moves". there's no justification for that asinine decision, what the hell does he tell the team in the locker room after that?

Congrats goes out to brookfield, very good team that never quit!
