we keep dragging you back like a car drags a dead animal for several miles .. Even after you run all over it and destroy all the remnants the smell still lingers .. much like you and that smelly cricksonofsam;884669 wrote:Follow Fairwood's advice...
The ONLY reason you keep seeing me here is because either you miss me and constantly invite me back or my posts are more important than Big Red football. Tough one to figure out because no matter how much I try to stay away, you keep dragging me back. -

The smell of your team ..You guys are like a deteriorating carcass along the side of a road that you have to drive by everyday to work it slowly goes away week by week ,but you still have to drive by it ..Usually by 10 weeks its just a grease spot on the side of the raod ..but you still smell the stench -

Thats because a lot of you "Big Red Faithful" live in Wintersville. I'm sure you could find a nice house in the hilltops or south section of downtown that would allow you to never have to "smell" us again.Thinthickbigred;885485 wrote:you know what makes me lose brain sells ?

ManO'WarAnd a lot of your Indian Creek faithful (if you really have any) live inside of the City of Steubenville. Why don't they go find a house in Wintersville with a septic tank and well water? Or if they are lucky they can buy water from Steubenville.

I Am AhabAlot of Big Red faithful live in Wintersville? Where is this info coming from? I know a lot of Big Red faithful and none that reside in Wintersville. Sounds like more BS from Bahgdad Sam. I do a lot of grads of Wintersville, Creek, and CCHS who send their kids to Steuby city schools though, many who live in the old IC school district (which extended a few miles into Steubenville). Perhaps that explains the Big Red faithful living the village. They are Wintersville/IC grads sending their kids to Steuby City Schools for a better edu/ special needs. And FYI, I know a few non Steuby grads, living in the west end of Steuby who send thieir young kids all the way down to Wells and Harding and it has absolutely nothing to do with athletics as they aren't involved. That really chaps your behind doesn't it SOS? Wintersville and CCHS grads choosing Steuby City over the closer IC. Out of curiosity are there any parents living far into Steuby sending their kids way out to IC.?

You might broaden your sources for information. I know quite a few Big Red faithful families that live in Wintersville but were graduated from Big Red. Two families are relatives of mine.I Am Ahab;886404 wrote:Alot of Big Red faithful live in Wintersville? Where is this info coming from? Anyway, where is it written that you have to live in the same town as the team you root for? I love the Steelers but I don't live in Pittsburgh;actually I live in Mingo.
For years a lot of Big Red graduates moved out to Wintersville to get away from the smoke and graphite of the mills.
Let's separate the good people of Wintersville from the duel between Thickthin and SonofSam.
Cheers. -

Considering Wintersville doesn't have septic and well water, that is going to be hard to do. I will be the first one to talk about Indian Creek and it's lack of a Head Coach but I blame Mingo for that, compliments of the Mingo School Board. but I will take living in the city of Wintersville over most parts of Steubenville any day. It's clean, safe, very little crime, and don't have to worry about the Mayor crashing in to my car at night, all that is compliments of a great police department. You see, I have the luxury of attending school in Florida and living in Ohio and Florida, so I get to look at the whole picture of the area without being prejudice toward any of the local schools and just get to say what I see going on.ManO'War;886337 wrote:And a lot of your Indian Creek faithful (if you really have any) live inside of the City of Steubenville. Number one, Wintersville is not a city, it is a village.password;886683 wrote:Considering Wintersville doesn't have septic and well water, that is going to be hard to do. Number two, if their residents don't buy water from Steubenville, then they have to have a well. My high school girlfriend lived a few blocks from the high school and had well water.
Number three, I lived in St Pete Florida for 10 years, so I know the "whole picture"...I have also lived in Youngstown and Boardman. -

Yea, they have no problem complaining about "their kids" going to Big Red, but always fail to mention the fact that a lot of their kids reside in the City of Steubenville. The city line is right before Harts, Big Bear, Reisbecks, or whatever it is called now....Effts Lane is STEUBENVILLE. I knew a lot of so called Wintersville kids growing up that lived off of Lovers Lane, which naturally is STEUBENVILLE.Thinthickbigred;886706 wrote:Love Steubenville... Thinthickbigredthe whole west end comprises Indian creek .. heck i consider mingo a suburb like Warwood is to wheeling ... We need to move our district line back to take all of Steubenville.. and we need to incorporate more land ... If i were in Steubenville government Id have gobled up so much land by now that is just grassy pastures and Sinclaire ave. The mineral rights alone can be worth millions .. I think we missed the boat

1.) You may be right with the city vs village argument, which has no bearing on the argument.ManO'War;886794 wrote:Number one, Wintersville is not a city, it is a village.

2.) I don't know how long you have been out of high school but things have changed in the village, they have water.
3.) I am glad you have lived outside of the area at other times, but my comment was that I attended high school in Florida so I don't have to
support either school just because I attended school there. I choose to support most schools in the valley, but when it comes to academics
and athletics, steubenville is superior in my opinion and has been for years. When it comes to place of residence I have chosen Wintersville
for the reasons stated earlier and I personally don't care what you or anyone else thinks of my choices, as you don't pay my bills here
in Ohio or Florida. Everyone has the right to choose where they live and where they want to send their children to school as far as I am
concerned. I am one of the first to admit that Indian Creek has turned in to a joke as a school and if I had to make a choice as to which
school to send my kids to for their education, I would choose Steubenville. I am not saying all of Steubenville is a bad place to live,
but you have to admit that they have some major problems with crime, the Urban Mission just had someone break in and steal from them,
now that is a real low life as far as I am concerned. -
ManO'WarThat has always been the problem with the village residents, they think they are somehow better than the people in Steubenville, when the fact of the matter is that most of them came from family who used to live in Steubenville.
I hate to break it to you, but there are some run down, dirty neighborhoods in Wintersville too. Steubenville is 4 times bigger, so naturally has more of them.
And I guess you don't keep up on the water situation, but it was big news for awhile when Wintersville couldn't pay their water bill to Steubenville. Now Wintersville buys its water from either Steubenville, Toronto, or the county.
Anyways, I'm glad to see you're not one of those people who complains where parents choose to send their children.
BTW, there are nice areas of Steubenville to live....pretty much from Harding Middle School out to Effts Lane and Country Club are safe. -
ThinthickbigredI love Steubenville . Its a great town

I agree that most of the people have family that came from Steubenville, why did they leave Steubenville? I have heard that years ago Steubenville was a great place to live and play, they say that people could walk the streets late at night, anywhere in town and never worry about crime. I never said that Wintersville doesn't have some homes that are rundown but there is no comparison. Wintersville is not sitting on the river, so of course they would have to buy water from towns that sit along the river. Yes there are some nice areas in Steubenville as you mentioned, unfortunately because of the drugs and crime other areas are very dangerous to live in and that is a shame for people that don't bother anyone. Look, I am on your side when it comes to Indian Creek and Big Red.ManO'War;886963 wrote:That has always been the problem with the village residents, they think they are somehow better than the people in Steubenville, when the fact of the matter is that most of them came from family who used to live in Steubenville.

I Am AhabI agree from Harding school to through the west end are all nice safe neighborhoods. If you look at just the village of Winterville there aren't many bad areas, but that's bc it's the size of my pinky. Just past the village lines are plenty of trailer parks and the zoo. I used to spend some time in wintersville and knew a lot of kids out that way growing up and trust me there is trouble there if you are looking. Just not the overtly violent kind you find on the hilltops in Steubenville. But of course you will have that problem in areas of that socioeconomic status. That's the way it works all across the US of A.
Sam would have you believe that it's only Steubenville bc that's where the football team whose bench he wishes he'd sat on in HS resides. Instead he got stuck riding the pine at lowly IC.
People like him make me a bigger SHS fan every year. Hating on what they do bc they are more accomplished than the rest of area football. You make yourself look like such an Imbecile when you discourage teenagers and try to run their names through the mud bc they play better football than your boys. Or I guess you expose yourself for the Imbecile you are.
Meanwhile, IC could have a football team on that level if you took Big Reds coaches and training program and put it to work with ICs boys. Simple as that. -

What a joke you are!!!!!
I read this site almost every day!
You have claimed over and over that you are not a Bid Red fan but in 95% of your posts are degrating locals or promoting Big Red.
Then you say you don't even live in the area.
What is it??

Well good for them, I will "ride the pine" for Creek any day as long as I am watching Creek play football. F*** Big Red. I dont even like to sit in that stadium for a Central game. You got it all wrong AHAB, Big Red is nothing more to me than the piece of toilet paper I used a little over 22 years ago inside Harding Stadium when I saw the GREATEST game I have ever watched in the history of football. It was Saturday October 10, 1987 to be exact. Win if you can, lose if you must, BUT ALWAYS CHEAT... Greatest call I have ever seen by 2 H.S. refs, Worst decision to overturn it 2 minutes later after a "fit" was thrown. How do you over rule TWO referees when you didn't even see it? I'll tell you... $$$$$$$$I Am Ahab;886997 wrote:I agree from Harding school to through the west end are all nice safe neighborhoods. ManO'WarSOG wasn't even in the IC school system in 87....and yea, a forward lateral isn't that hard to call, or overturn. What were you, like 6 at the time?? Even at that age you should know what a forward lateral is. BTW, I have the game tape...it wasn't 2 minutes, it was about 10 seconds..after the refs conferenced.
-
ThinthickbigredIt was an illegal forward lateral .. I seen it up close . The refs blew the call in the begining ,but I have to admitt I think they should have stayed with the original blown call ... it was a bad day for football... They made two mistakes ...and as much as I hate to side a little with SOS .. Since they blew the original call they should not have overturned it .. they dont have instant replay in high school ... I will say though I was in the endzone at the side of the endzone where the play happened and gods honest truth is the holder who tried to fake the PAT and run it in got stopped cold and pitched the ball into the endzone from 3 yards out plain as day ... The refs didnt make the right call at the begining and they changed it .. Im sure those guys are still sick over it to this day. The refs that is
