Saw Orrville/Lexington tonight. About 3 quarters anyway. Orrville looks scary good. #25 is an animal.
Not completely sure how we started in Orrville and ended up in Brookpark......
Sorry....poor recap. having double vision issues.
Evening sure to have fallout.....Rum/divorce.....Miyagi/deportation....Me/headache
Congrats to Orrville....parting note...Lex has a good QB, big kid...big arm
must sleep......for many hours. -
oh yeah!!as a biased observer invited on the field by the home team last night i saw and heard comments by both teams at the NWrn vs Norwayne game. Inexcusable retaliations from the bobcats, but i will say that more than one time a derogatory ethnic comment was made towards several of the bocat players....could have been much worse if they reacted how some may have after hearing those words....game summary was already put up so i will not comment on that any further. thanks for the hospitality NWrn

Havin FunPretty much what everyone expected out of this weeks games. I am a bit disappointed in the Bears but with Smithville next week I can certainly see the kids overlooking Rittman. The Indians simply can't run the ball so it makes it impossible to win in this league.
Right now I have to say Norwayne, Hillsdale and Smithville are a notch above everyone else. While the Bears are 3-1 the wins are against very poor competition. My guess is last years team would also be 3-1 at this point in the season.
Next week will tell us alot about this years team. If they can beat Smithville, I would feel a bit more
confident than I do now. -

You are correct with this game recap. Norwayne was a huge loadBobcat;899289 wrote:Now onto a game recap. I was wondering when Norwayne would come out flat...tonight was the night. It took them awhile to get on track but they eventually did. Northwestern did expose a few weaknesses but I'm not going to say what they are. Norwayne's offense to this point is incredible. The only way Nwstrn stopped them was to be on offense themselves. Norwaynes O is better than their D. They are loaded with weapons. Every game has pretty much been the same. Every team backs the corners off 12 to 15 yards. Up till now they double team Brady Berger. He is a big play reciever. The problem with that is they are deep. jon Maibach has become a force on the short dump routes. He's making catches by the boatload. They double Berger often time putting the corner 12 deep and backing him up with a safety then they try to man up on the other 3 recievers who catch the ball anyway....as does Berger. They get so preoccupied with the pass that the running lanes are wide open. When they adjust and put more defenders in the box they pass. Wallace is running at will because of the success of the passing game. The Zimmerly boys can both carry the mail at running back and Wallace is a load. They are very deep in the skill positions. Cover Berger and they'll throw to maibach. Cover them and they'll throw to Smith or Knieirem. Back em all out and they'll run. Good luck stoppin them. IMO they have the 2 best recievers in the league in Berger and Maibach, 2 of the best running backs in the Zimmmerlys and the best QB. This offense is awesome. The D has weaknesses because they are seamingly trying to play certain players one way to keep them fresh. Rittman is in major trouble next week -

Agreed. Although I agree with the game recap that NW got rolled up the middle by Wallace, I guess I will agree to disagree about the players and coaches from Norwayne. Could not believe the attitude from them.1_beast;899305 wrote:Usually you have a nice recap!!! Unfortunately...in this case...I call shenanigans...Norwayne has played dirty for awhile...and of course lil petey or lil tommy's parents will deflect that to the other team.....
If anyone believes this...I have some Ocean Front Land for sale in Amish Country!!!
Here is an example:
Norwayne up by 40 points in the 3rd quarter, starters still in, they just scored, and kick an onside kick. Go score, and kick another on side kick....unreal. -

So,what someone told you is different than what I witnessed and someone told me. How does that make you right and me wrong? I guess we can just disagree. BTW, since you were not on the field, you do not have facts either so maybe you should get yours straightBobcat;899281 wrote:I usually come on here and post once a week. I like to offer up a Norwayne recap. Tonight I was fortunate enough to spend some time with some friends and there sons who play for the Cats after we returned home. As is usually in many cases on here my Chatter friend Sydfl is misinformed. I specifically asked about the unsportsmanlike penalties. This is not normal for this Norwayne team. One of the calls was a Norwayne running back who pushed a defender off of him who had a hold of his ankle and was twisting it at the bottom of the pile after he was tackled. Another was a lineman that "encouraged" a Huskie player to take a look at the scoreboard in a spirited matter after He was called a MF'er. They weren't sure what the 3rd was for ( there was 3 not 4). They told me that Northwestern was getting more and more pissed as the night went on which is to be excpected...they were getting embarrassed. The madder they got the dirtier they got. Syd needs to get his facts straight. Each team is going to blame the other. We all know that the guy who acts second usually gets busted. I can understand Northwesterns frustration. They got crushed. -
Red RumIt sounds like things went pretty much as expected in the WCAL last night. Probably why I went to Orrville/Lex. Orrville is the real deal. The region 13 playoff road will pass through O-town.
on to the WCAL,
Waynedale/Rittman- Wow, much closer than I expected. Dennis now has a moral victory!!!!, unfortunately that's the same thing as another defeat.
Smithville/Dalton- Sounds like the Dawg fans worst fears became reality.
Hillsdale/Chippewa- Where's GoFalcs? waiting for his take.
Northwestern/Norwayne- no shortage of opinions on that one.
1. Norwayne utterly killed the Huskies 55-8 per all sources. Not much more needs said.
2. Sportmanship- it probably was bad all around.
3. Bobcat- enjoy reading your recaps & opinions, so I hope you don't get mad and leave but talking to parents of players and players? C'mon man, of course their going to blame the other team.
4. Syd- I love the Huskies too. We got killed by a way better team. If they rubbed it in and ran up the score, so be it. It happens, the Huskies have done the same thing.
5. My take- Congrats to the Cats, we'll be saying that to them alot this year. As far as winning 55-8 then complaining about bad sportsmanship from the losing team.....it is what it is.....and it ain't what it ain't. -
Red RumI almost forgot,
Bloody- If you can't run with the big dogs, it's best to stay on the porch.

Rittmans Defense is not bad! they kept them in the game. The offense however is so predictible and easy to stop.. Also did anyone see dennis's quote in the paper??! "I can not rebuild a program in 4 games if anyone has a magic wand then let me know" Are you kidding me!!! the program was already rebuilt you just destroyed it again!!1_beast;899149 wrote:Generic playcalling + Rittman stepping up.
In my game summary I will say this...Im not taking ANYTHING away from the Rittman boys, (if they had a coach, i think they would do alright this year)....that being said, Bears kept it plain. Held Rittman from scoring inside the 5-10 yd line three times. That in turn gave crappy field position...an int on the 1 (knock it down...it was 4th down) and a punt that went out of bounds on the 1....5 times the Bears started inside the 5....
Overall offensively...a few nice runs, a few nice passes....just simple generic football!!! Got the "W".....but need to step it up next week against Smithville...thats the game that may make or break out Season!!!
Edit: and after texting madman for a quarter...i found out it was his Mom....so I started talking dirty to her....she want to meet downtown, but I had to get out of Rittucky. Once I got madmans real phone #...he passed the chance to meet The Beast. I think he was embarassed that I didnt hook up with his mom! -

left Orrville
went to Strongsville at Bloodys insistence.
found out game was cancelled due to flu epidemic in Elyria.
did the "bloody pub & strip bar crawl"
helped Berea fans drown their sorrows and YOU pretty much put a couple strippers through college.
Check your phone- you may want to erase some of those pics...Mrs M ain't gonna understand. -
Havin FunThe Rittman program was successful last year on the backs of a strong senior class that graduated. The Program itself was never rebuilt, that is why the coach quit when his seniors left. Bescanson knew there was no way they could win this year. My problem with the new coach is trying to run an offense that will never win you games in the WCAL and playing his son who looks like a Jr. High athlete at best.

There is talent there...and the rebuilding process was in motion. The Coach has reversed the process....Hooser should be the QB but thats not gonna happen under Billy''s watch! The Rittman team i saw last night couold be a 4-6, 5-5 team this year...under a diff coach...which in my opinion is the definition of another year of rebuilding....in 2 years they would knock some heads....but thats all irrelevant.Havin Fun;899472 wrote:The Rittman program was successful last year on the backs of a strong senior class that graduated. i agree, be honest beast, if rittman woulda capatalized on that interception on the first drive and woulda punched it in for the 2 scores inside the redzone it woulda been a helluva game last night. and yes! dennis' son looks like an 8th grade QB playing varsity1_beast;899479 wrote:There is talent there...and the rebuilding process was in motion. Wooster All-SportI heard Dennis was givin a pep talk after the Waynedale game and said *I couldn't be prouder to be in London* - where he coached last. Is that true ? wow this guy really is confused.

Wooster All-SportLooking forward to Waynedale v. Smithville next week. Could finally get a close WCL game but kinda think one of the teams will win by at least 10.

Success is never just on people. The most talented kids in Ohio won't win without good coaching. I was talking with someone last night who watched Rittman play, and he said there is some talent on that team. The guy knows football better than about anyone I know, so I really have no reason to doubt him.
The fact of the matter is, this coach has a track record, as did Besancon (that's how you spell it, by the way ). Everywhere Besancon went, the team improved, New London included. You can't tell me that was all just talent, and he left when it was over.
I've played under Besancon (as an assistant at Smithville). He's a disciplinarian to the core. He is a good teacher, but he also expects perfection. He was always his players' biggest fan and harshest critic. I think that style of coaching, and coaching in a program where, every year, he got to see what it takes for a team to win, has led to him helping the teams succeed wherever he goes.
Conversely, Dennis also has a track record. It's basically the opposite of Besancon's, at least in terms of success, though I might suspect in other areas as well.
1_beast;899479 wrote:Bescancon left because he wanted the Smithville job!
You might be right. He originally left Smithville because he wanted a head coaching job. It's good to see him back.
Wooster All-Sport;899529 wrote:Looking forward to Waynedale v. Smithville next week. Could finally get a close WCL game but kinda think one of the teams will win by at least 10.
That would be a fairly close game. I'm gonna try to make it to either that one or the Hillsdale one.
The onside kick is a bit much, but I guess if there is bad blood between the two for the game, it could happen. Still kind of ugly.luckydog;899561 wrote:you got to be kidding me, real freaking class act there boy...
You know, it might sound weird to say this, but the Dalton D didn't look terrible. They had a hard time containing the QB on the run, which led to some long scores early, but that D was scrappy, and I can appreciate that.luckydog;899561 wrote: Hats off to Schrock for not hangin' a 100 on us last nite, he put his JV boys in when they were up 42 thank goodness, gave our JV boys a chance to play.
Are the Dogs young this year? They looked smaller in size than the Dalton teams I remember, but then, I remember playing against Stutz, who I got to see on the Dalton sidelines last night. -

I believe the quote at WH was always "I couldn't be any prouder of these kids than I am right now. They left it all out there on the field." which we heard week after week of 71-13, 48-10 strings of losses.Wooster All-Sport;899527 wrote:I heard Dennis was givin a pep talk after the Waynedale game and said *I couldn't be prouder to be in London* - where he coached last. Don't worry Rittman. He built WH into a .500 program after his kid graduated so when the next scholarship winner to a non-scholarship school graduates he have a chance of getting your football team back! -
O-TrapAny coach who starts his son instead of a more talented player needs kicked in the nuggets and sent packing.
