Dover Football
-
goldenwarriorDover is and always has been a solid program. Most schools would love to consistently go 2-3 games into the playoffs. Look at the region they were in. If they had beaten Steubenville, they wouldn't have beaten Mooney. It's pretty much like that every year.
-
Strapping Young LadAhhh, Hello????? That seems to be based on more than Dr. Rays wishful thinking...
What is HE basing his claims on. Oh Big Red and Dover didn't play the third year, therefore Big Red must've backed out b/c they were scared after we beat them by 7....
If Big Red was in the habit of backing out when they get beat why did they play all those teams that beat them (alot worse than Dover) the next year.....
Why wasn't Reno scared of Zanesville????? They crushed Big Red in 98!!! DC,or EL????
No, Reno was only scared of a team that cameback to win by 7....Yes, that sounds more like the truth to me, LOL. -
september63Some of you people wouldnt know when someone was just yanking your chain, even if the chain was literally wrapped around your arse.
-
Strapping Young LadWhy can no one answer the question of why Reno backed out on Dover but played the rest of the teams the next year (and even lost again to some of them)....
Why was Reno so scared of Dover???? You must know. I mean it's a known fact that Reno backed out on the third year. It's just b/c he was scared of the team who beat him by 7????? Well, that explanation doesn't seem to be the truth does it????
Play a team that crushes you, but run scared from the team that cameback to beat you by 7.....that makes sense in Dover, I guess. -
zhon44622If you really wanna live vicariously through the past and discuss why Dover and Stueb. have stopped playing in a series do a little research and look into why the annual matchup was ended in the late 80's....................
-
Strapping Young LadSo, you all but admit Big Red didn't back out of the contract as Ray claims.
-
zhon44622no - as previously stated, anything that either says is here say until someone can produce documents to prove otherwise. and once again, who the eff really cares? its 2009.

Strapping Young LadIDK, obviously some one from Dover who goes by Dr. Ray cares b/c he brought it up, now I've shown facts that hint otherwise.....
You seem pretty intelligent. If you were a coach, got thrashed by some teams and beat by another by 7, why would you run scared from the team that beat you by 7 but play the others, again (keep in mind you are one of the state's best coaches, so you realize that some of those teams who you'll play again are good enough to beat you next year, too. But nevertheless you play them)...
That doesn't make sense on the surface but, put yourself in that position and see what you can come up with. -
zhon44622then perhaps you need to take your childish pissing match to some how compensate for whatever inadequacy you feel towards Dover (Your citys team won this years football game, BTW) to a private message. Your rants are getting tiresome. To rebut an issue once is one thing, to take it into a series of 15+ rambling rants is an entirely different animal, obsessive, and somewhat psychotic.

I have us at 7th, my or your list isn't up to date, I think we surpassed Bellaire this year. Either way about 810 of the 820 member high schools in the OHSAA haven't had Dover's success on the field. The only joke here is the question itself. -

You may call it what you want. I know the true facts. Why don't you ask the AD yourself, if he is still around? But, you are right, you have no reason to believe what I said.september63 wrote: I dont know or really care what happened back in 1999. However, just because a Big Red poster says he saw a memo from the AD's office? C'mon now!!! That is BS!! I believe what I see, not what a Steuby fan "tells" me he saw. LOL I saw Santa Claus fly over my house last night. You going to believe that too?
Steubenville has had and will have down seasons. This season was to have been a rebuilding year due to the fact that we played 5 sophomores and look how it turned out. You just never know how the season will go. -

I believe the Dover AD is still hiding under his desk. -
Strapping Young LadHaha...Talk and jaw comes on here spreading BS bout Big Red running scared from Dover in '99, then when anyone brings facts to the table (in '99 Big Red plays the teams that beat them badly in' 98, yet hide from the mighty Tornadoes/ explain that the Dover AD recognizes a sched conflict) and you have no answer....
You can't even make something up....Why would Big Red run from Dover, but not those other teams???? YOU HAVE NO ANSWER. RESORT TO NAME-CALLING!!!!!! WE ARE pusheDOVER!!!!!!
You can talk and jaw your way around it and say you need some "proof", but I've exposed Dr. Ray's lie and everyone can see that it was just more bullshit from pusheDover.....

Dr. Ray StantzLOL This is perfect. Please don't shut it down Go Chiefs!
I found a memo too! It's Tuttle's To Do List-
1.Run from the truth.
2.Keep hating on Dover.
3.Pick letterman jacket up from dry cleaners.
4.Put letterman jacket in vacuum sealed plastic bag for next season.
5.Buy Mountain Dew Code Red.
6.Try and find a reason to be as happy as when you were 17.
7.Post RRR, puns, and hate on a message board.
8.Brush Tooth.
9.Go to bed hoping for a dream of the glory days.
10.Wake up unfulfilled.
Repeat as necessary. -

FairwoodKingI'm a Big Red fan and I think I speak for most Big Red fans when I say we respect Dover's program very much. After all, it was Dover that almost knocked us out of the playoffs in 2006.
Big Red and Dover nearly started playing each other in week two of the regular season in 2007. The two schools were ready to sign a contract when Indian Creek entered the equation for Big Red. Creek was only available in week one. Big Red already had a contract with Buchtel for that week. Since Reno and Fred never cancel contracts with anyone, Buchtel was offered week two. They accepted and Dover got pushed out. This was a shame, because playing Dover (especially in 2007 and 2008 when Big Red was in Div. IV) would have been much more exciting than playing either Creek or Buchtel. If Big Red drops back into Div. IV in 2011, I hope the two teams will meet in the regular season. It would be a good rivalry for all concerned. -
