Steubenville Big Red 2010

I think it would go a long way for the city and (SCS) Steubenville City Schools. The city still has the marketing ads of the "BURB OF THE BURGS" airing in WV/PA I think the enrollment would help the football program as well as SCS. Most of the families that enroll have 3 to 4 children enrolling in SCS.FairwoodKing wrote: Why couldn't Big Red create a classic weekend? We have great facilities and a wonderful reputation. Surely we could find a sponsor.
We already are seeing players on the roster from Weirton,WV. Burgettstown, PA. Wintersville, OH. Richmond, OH. among others. I think SCS is doing a great job in promoting the school system in the Tri-State areas.
I think we should also start "POSITION" focused Football camps- QB, BIGMAN-lineman etc. I would definitely start a kicking camp like this one which is "FREE TO COACHES" that is going to held at AKRON U.

I would send the head coach of Harding, Frosh Coach and the special teams coach and Reno to the camp. I feel we are hurt in the middle school grades because they don't kick PA's, kick offs or punt in games or practice enough.
We develop every other position from the middle school level up...why not the kicking position. Take the position back to a point of ATTACK.
These are a few areas where the program can and should improve upon.
As always ROLL RED ROLL! -
FairwoodKingI would like to know what happened to our games with Warren Harding. First I was told that we would play them home and home the next two years, now I am told we are not playing them.
What gives? -
snyds113Akron Buchtel is taking the place of Creek.I also heard Warren harding is still on.
-
GoChiefsSo what's the schedule looking like so far for 2010? Any ideas?
-

Creek, St. Joe's, and Poland have dropped us, and Woodland Hills, Inkster, and Fairview were one-shot deals. We may have to replace all six teams.GoChiefs wrote: So what's the schedule looking like so far for 2010? Any ideas?
I especially wish we could play Inkster again. We need to punish them for beating us. -
snyds113Nice War Ad. THANKS!!!!

Someone did a nice job with the photos, I like the black and white background that highlighted different players.
Pretty cool whoever put that together. -
FairwoodKingI'm not trying to start any rumors because I haven't heard much about this one way or the other, but I would like to see Big Red play in that new classic in PA week 2. I understand it will be held in Woodland Hills stadium. I really don't want us to play Woody again because we have already beaten them the three times we played them. I would like to see us play either Gateway or Pittsburgh CC. It would be great if we played one of these teams every year.
-
FairwoodKingIs there any more news about Big Red playing Brooke? This game is a natural and should be played every year. Brooke has a fairly large stadium, so there wouldn't be any complaints about not having enough seats for the Big Red fans.

Al CaponeFrom what I heard, big red refused to sign. Chicken sh*%.

I don't believe you.Al Capone wrote: From what I heard, big red refused to sign. Chicken sh*%. -
snyds113Someone on the other website said Morgantown is confirmed for week 5.If this is true I'm glad to see that. When we travel to Morgantown in 2011 I can go see my Mom in Shinston.YIPEE!!!!
-
ManO'WarMorgantown will be away next year if we play...it is on their schedule as a home game.
-
FairwoodKingI guess this means we definitely won't be playing Warren Harding because that was supposed to be week 5. That's a shame, because it would have been a good matchup.
-
FairwoodKingI assumed if we played Morgantown it would be on the road in 2010. We only have one other road game scheduled and it is in Massillon.
I'm not trying to start a rumor, but I will guess that our third road game will be week 2 in the classic in PA. We will probably play Gateway or Pgh CC or another team of that calibar. -
unclestinkThe second game is with Akron Buchtel
-
FairwoodKing
I thought Buchtel is replacing Creek in week one.unclestink wrote: The second game is with Akron Buchtel -
snyds113I knew they were replacing Creek. If your right about the Classic fairwood then they probably had to move around the schedule to make it work.
-
ManO'WarWe are not in any "classics" as far as I know.
-
FairwoodKing
I didn't mean to start any rumors by saying this. I just meant to say that I was guessing that we would play in a classic in PA if in fact it materializes.ManO'War wrote: We are not in any "classics" as far as I know. -
FairwoodKingMorgantown will be Big Red's approximately 210th different opponent in school history. That must be a record. Massillon is an independent and plays a lot of teams, but they only have played about 168 different teams. Does anyone know what the national record is?
-
Al CaponeMorgantown? Another out of state ''power''house. HaHa you guys kill me. Is this the same team that lost to Brooke and Wheeling Park?LOL.
-

If nothing else, we will get a lot of computer points by beating them.Al Capone wrote: Morgantown? Another out of state ''power''house. HaHa you guys kill me. Is this the same team that lost to Brooke and Wheeling Park?LOL. -
ryan_nolanSteubenville will be "hosting" an event this fall. Take it to the bank.
