Definitely noticed the wrong colors on the animation, needs some red, white, and black. Looks like 4ringz had his color choices in there:)

That's funny! :-). You have always been good at making a "spectacle" of yourself! Hey, in all the new scoreboard hoopla, I forgot to inquire about the fate of the old one. Did we keep it?

Stupid, I believe our aggressive defense has caused more loss of yards, sacks and punts than penalties for 1st downs, take the good with the bad. Would I prefer there not be penalties yes, but I would rather the motor be running at full go than to throttle back to avoid penalties. Now to your defense it seems every school knows that 3rd and less than 5, hard count us and we seem to jump everytime, this situation the players should know what is probably coming, they have seen it, we have seen it to many times in the last 5 yrs.

^^^^Aggree, definatley can live with aggressive penalties. IMHO

BRF reports no one on crutches and no one limping.

I was at the fair yesterday and saw Brenner and Turner come through the gate together. Brenner had an aircast on his left ankle and Turners left arm was in a sling. The word I'm hearing is that Stu's parents wont let him play because they dont want to risk him losing his scholarship.
  • footballnut
If the rumor is true about Turner that is a killer

    There was no sling today.

I was told they were held out of practice Mon and Tues to heal

BRF, the old score board was being held together with tape left over from the Mo regime. You know "Mo's Miracle Tape". Seriously parts were very hard to come by and expensive. It was cheaper to buy a new score board than fix that one. It was talked about moving it to the old Jr. high field to be used by grade school tackle teams or to the new jr. high field, but it will be cheaper to buy a newer smaller one and not have to pay to move it and try to repair it.

Graphic of something to get our "fans on their feet", or something that says "make some noise" would be great. Student section needs some motivation ;)

Ya and putting the 50/50 up there instead of announcing it is just dumb. The scoreboard is nice but if you take away the graphics at top and all the sponsors around it, its no different than the old one. I dont want to be negative but its not as impressive as I thought. I would be more impressed with a scoreboard like at Wrigley field or fenway where we have to put the numbers up manually as long as it is Orrville on the winning side I dont care.

Mistakes will be made. We could play a mistake free game win by 60 and somebody will still moan about the coach or the players attitude was not right. I am sure these guys are giving their best efforts, I would rather see them be aggressive than lay back so they don't get any penalties.
People are not complaining because we are the worst team in Wayne County, we are complaining because so far we arent the best team in Wayne County. We dont play in the Wayne County Athletic league for a reason and so far Norwayne is the best team in the county. To me that is unacceptable with what we have. And if kids were gonna be kids every team would have the same sloppy penalties we have and thats not the case. Copley had some but they didnt turn the ball over and make careless mistakes. As far as Stew Turner getting hurt that sucks but it wont have anything to do with the outcome of the game because our coaches cant figure out how to get him the ball anyway!

I wouldn't mind seeing him line up at RB a few times during the game....heck atleast he will get touches. All you would have to run is student body left and student body right...he will do the rest.

Watched WH vs Orr 8th graders tonight. Knights won 14-6. Not alot there for either team, and I know last year's frosh team for Orrville was very weak.

TY TY TY! You made my day! And, OQB, I agree on the "student body" plays for Turner. Have Lichti just hand it off and voila'! I certainly understand the fans being disgruntled with his lack of touches. I don't get it, either. Mind boggling. Thanks for the info, Flash.

I just remember we did everything we could to get Damon Robinson the ball when I played, because he was our playmaker....I just don't know why they aren't doing the same with Turner...because he is way better than Damon was.

Is he durable enough to take some bigger hits that would come from touches from the tailback position? That would be my only concern......he's dinged now, not sure that would be the best long term solution.

I'm for getting him the ball in space in as many ways as possible. Short, easy passes.

Can't remember the last time we threw a slant..and he'd be perfect for that.

True, that would be the only question is durability.

Amen to the slant pass and "hot route" when we read a blitz. It's been a long time since I've seen us run either of them.

Must be some good tape...cheaper to buy new???? Boosters better park their RV'S so they can pony up

You have been a WCAL Team for years, albeit upper tier...that is where Orrville is at...call me names, jump my case...its facts.....

I said this last year...I thought perhaps it was because he was an "outsider"......i still dont understand the lack of touches!!!

NOW....BEAT ME UP!!!!!!!!! Tell me how wrong I am....

But I'll tell you this..its a good thing Stu came from Wooster,,,,,,,because HE beat Triway last year in the playoffs...without Turner...you are watching in week 12!!!!!!!!!!!!

Beast I wasn't talking about cheaper than buy a new score board for the main field. The question was," What are we doing with the old scoreboard?" The answer is throwing that one away. If we want a new scoreboard for the Jr. High Field it would be cheaper to buy a smaller newer version due to the facts that moving the old one and running electricity and repairing it are too, expensive. I wasn't real clear about what scoreboard we were talking about.
  • Red Rider81
I agree they know the hard count is coming, yet they always jump while other teams seem more disciplined and hold there positions. This just seems to be an ongoing problem for our team. Could it be a coaching thing because other teams do not seem to make these mistakes over and over like we do.
  • Red Rider81
They know how to get him the ball , problem is more touches for him takes away touches from one of there favorite sons. Name game is still alive and well in orrville.

It's a shame turner is not from orrville or have wealthy booster parents then maybe he would get more touches. All he does is make positive things happen everytime he touches the ball. That is what the coach should be thinking unless he can't see what everyone else does. I'm sure this will tourqe some people off but oh well someone has to say it.

I dont think Turner would be as effective running the ball out of the backfield as alot of people think. The key is getting him into open space. The staff has to find a way to get the ball in his hands where seperation exists. Stu is super fast but there is no way he would hold up if he had to consistently take big hits. The last thing we can afford is for him to be hurt. Db's are going to respect him. They may need to feed him more short routes to pull the DB's in then go for the homerun. They definitely need to implement more slants in the game plan.
