Orrville Red Rider Football 2011

Going in a different direction, is the top of the scoreboard scheduled to be installed prior to this Friday?
  • Old Rider
Light...it is supposed to be installed. However, the scoreboard was supposed to be complete by week 1 and we saw how that turned out. I wouldn't count on it just based on how this project seems to be getting more and more drawn out.

    Thanks Old Rider...figured as much.

Heck we have 2 new play clocks...and they haven't got those working correctly yet either...

    Hey light....

    Get a new avatar. :D

And no, the way this is going...i wouldn't count on the top piece of the scoreboard. And it's out of the school's hand at this point...it's about the folks who were hired to finish the job to do just that.

I haven't seen a game yet, so I am anxious to see this one. You can learn a lot by watching film....it's all on tape.

Maryland Football. The first game of the year 2011, Maryland took the field against Miami all new white uniforms and phenomenal football helmet with the flag of the State is to wrap around the helmet.

Orrville is sitting at 9th in region in computetr points. THis is an absolute must win game against Lexington. The one thing about Region 13 is it is hard to move up because the teams ahead of us wont lose many games. If my memory is correct the last time we were in Region 13 we went 7-3 and didnt get into the playoffs. We may need to run the table now to make it.

Wow you would think this team is the worst team in Wayne Co. with all the negativity on here. Its a high school football game not the overthrow of Iran. Mistakes will be made. We could play a mistake free game win by 60 and somebody will still moan about the coach or the players attitude was not right. I am sure these guys are giving their best efforts, I would rather see them be aggressive than lay back so they don't get any penalties.

You are half right, the teams ahead won't lose many games, but it is easier to move up than you think as league play starts teams play each other and this region is 23 of the 32 teams are in 5 leagues and will beat each other. Also this week 2nd level points will cause some changes as Girard plays an 0-3, Norwayne plays an 0-3, 4 of the next 5 games, Black River has 0-3 the next 3 games, Cle. Central an 0-3, Streetsboro 0-3 the next 2 games. Brookfield has 3-0 Campbell and needs to win as they have an 0-3 the next game. So all these teams may win these next few weeks but with few 2nd level points you will see some definite changes in the top 8 positions.

Relax it's all in fun and frustration, and it's mostly like family on here, mostly. You get some noobies that pop in and stir and go away after awhile. It's like the old story of familes that fight each other all over the backyard, but get on any of them in the front yard and they are all together a family. We just don't have very many opponents that show up to pickon, ( other than a few titan and bear trolls ) I think other than a couple Northwest and triway fans we don't have any rivals talk smack at us!

    Officially from the School:

The top piece of the scoreboard WILL NOT be delivered in time for installation for this Friday's game. Will be in town next week (just in time for 2 away games). Wont make debut until Ashland game (week 7).

    Beyond frustrating.

The play clock issue should be resolved before Friday night...but who knows how that's going to go.

They are also searching for a solution to be able to light the scoreboard advertising panels. If you noticed, the board got awful dark after sunset, making the ad panels impossible to see.

The top piece comes from a different company than the one we purchased the scoreboard from. Hence the problems with one company and not the other. The 24 sec. clock is run on a wireless system and was working before the game, but glitched after that. They are going to relocate the antenna to hopefully help this week, but technology is technology and sometimes the bugs need to be worked out.

All this stuff is out of our hands other than to complain, which we are. If this project could have been planned in advance these things wouldn't have happened or if they did we would have had time to remedy them, but the timing due to the donation prevented advance planning. It will all work out in the end, but the graphics have been great and the rest of this stuff is not that important.

Exactly. My big issue is with them saying it was because of the hurricane that the shipping was delayed. Was that really the truth, or just a convenient excuse to shift the blame on failing to meet a deadline? Who knows...and yes, at this point, complaining is about all we can do.

Not just the advertising panels but even the scoreboard itself seemed rather dark. You couldn't read the words (Home) , (Visitors) ect. ect....Thats standing top row reserve section.

Graphic of something to get our "fans on their feet", or something that says "make some noise" would be great. Student section needs some motivation ;)

Can't see the scoreboard? I know someone who can fix that. LOL I want Tim to make the letters smaller and then I'll put an ad with big print that says " If you can't read this call etc"

The board has a "make some noise" animation...but it's in blue and gold (ewww!) Working on changing that but it's not easy.

Then you can see if it will reach triple digits.(unless we find some defense)

Are you kidding me ? how can you say that when penalties always give the other team 2nd chances. 4th and 4 becomes 1st and 10. Sorry but thats just stupid.
