Orrville Red Rider Football 2011
-
OQBOur helmet is about the only thing I would NEVER change in our uniform...lol it is perfect the way it is!
Things I would like to see changed:
ORRVILLE or RIDERS written across the chest
White sleeve and neck trim on the red jersey Red trim on the white jersey instead of the red on red, white on white
Add white pants to the mix so we could have an all white combo or red/white
change the stripe on the black pants to a triple stripe to match the red pants
is that too much "change" I don't think so -

RedRider1Scout's National Rankings have Mason listed as a MLB and the #16 MLB in the country. #2 MLB in all of Ohio.
Pretty cool. -
OQBI thought the kid from Copley was supposed to be ranked as well...
-
5knotsdo you mean the RB? Turner? If so he is a soph...class of 2013.
-
OQB^ yeah I guess I didn't realize he was that young. haha
-
Old RiderOQB...I like the new avatar for now, but I am curious if it will last through the month of May...just being a realist and a longtime Cleveland fan myself, I know not to get too excited yet!
-
BRFOQB is flexing his muscles on the Tribe threads and becoming a "playa"!
-
OQBIt will last until august....when football starts up again.
I'm going up to the game next Saturday. -
5knotsMessage board is lighting up on the OSU site Bucknuts about some real real real bad news coming out in a day or two unrelated to the TaT FIVE scandal. Said ESPN and others have been diging real deep since fall. Does not sound good at all if you are a Buckeye fan. Anyone heard anything?
-
RedRider1UN-related to the known issues already? Don't like that....I think the program is in for a little down period...hopefully not Michigan-esque, but down from what us fans are
If Tress gets canned or steps down, which I think happens after this year, the program will lose some of it's luster....especially if you're tacking on NCAA penalties too. -
OneBuckeyeWait and see. He is the only one who is saying this the other "insiders" are dismissing this for now. Also the guy who posted it asked to have it removed...

Any NCAA sanctions will hurt recruiting, resulting in mediocrity.
I guess it's the circle of life.....Ohio State doesn't ALWAYS have to be an elite team. Remember how ND and Miami dominated the 80's? -
5knotsI think he asked to have it shut down because it was blowing up and the pressure on him to come forward with more info was building. Shame really OSU has put itself in this position with the type of kid it has recruited. I'm still upset anyone who ever played for OSU would even think about selling/trading his gold pants for a tattoo! I realize this new issue is evidently unrelated to Tatgate but I'm still ticked about that. Guess we just wait and see over the next couple days.
-
OQBQuestion for you 5knots....With you and your family being big time Buckeye fans and with all this happening at OSU, if Mason was offered a scholarship to play for THE Ohio State University......would he take it?
-
5knotsIMO I don't think that opportunity is something he would ever pass up. OSU Buckeye Nation is larger than some "scandal" or even Jim Tressel. It is Mason's choice and I hope he continues to have some options. I can become a fan real quick of wherever he chooses. It might take a little longer to sport certain color schemes as my wardrobe is quite limited. I'm real glad he is a Red Rider right now! We are heading back down to Columbus Saturday morning, watch practice and talk with coaches etc... and maybe get a little better idea as to where they have him on their board.
-
OQBHe will have plenty of choices to choose from lol........I was just curious as to what you think he would do if these sanctions are going to put the Buckeyes back a few years. You're absolutely right though....I don't think I could pass the opportunity up either, growing up a huge OSU fan that would be a dream come true. Have a good time down there and I hope you come back with some good news!
-
FlashCan you say Urban Meyer next new coach? He doesn't even have to move, he's already there.
-
OQBI think that is where we are headed in the next few years Flash....
-
RedRider1I dont want to say it, and didn't think I ever would say it....but I'd be surprised if Tressel is the coach at this time next year. He'll move up to an admin. role.
I hope Mason goes wherever he fits best, and gets the chance to get the best education possible. If that's on the banks of the Olentangy, so be it.....if it's elsewhere, that's fine too. -
5knotsAny way you look at the next 4-6 years should be fun for Red Rider fans watching the big Ten (12) with Chase and Max in the mix, then if Mason ends up in the Big Ten as well that's three guys on probably three different teams every weekend....not bad for little old Orrville.
-
OQBNot bad at all!! haha

FWIW the guy on Bucknuts apolgized for the miss information and said he got bad info from his source and didn't vette it properly. No more news.
Lastly I hope Mason gets a Buckeye offer but I have a feeling it might not be until mid summer or after. OSU got more LBs than they thought last year and haven't even offered an in state LB yet (other than Josh Perry who commited). I know Joe Bolden would probably be one of the other Ohio LBs at the top of OSU's list. Time will tell, but it is good to hear this.IMO I don't think that opportunity is something he would ever pass up. OSU Buckeye Nation is larger than some "scandal" or even Jim Tressel. -
5knots^^Agreed^^ Bolden is a very good player and kid as well from what I read. More hype with him coming from Colerain, especially with Uncle as Head Coach and Dad as AD (I think) and a long lineage of D I guys out there playing. Mason may be more of a pure MLB than Bolden, hard to say. Mason will get a little feedback tomorrow from OSU. I agree....he will probably need to knock there socks off at camp to even be considered for an offer with only 14 scholarship spots and the large LB class ahead of him. I would like to see OSU focus more on kids who bleed the scarlet and grey than ones who could care less about our tradition and trade it for tattoos. I would feel pretty comfortable guaranteeing Joe Bolden or Mason Monheim would never sell there gold pants! Heading to Michigan State Thursday. Dantonio and DC Narduzzi seem pretty high on our LB. We'll see.
