Come out flat like we did against Senior and we will see you next year. Thanks for an amazing ride this year. Refuse to let it be over!!! I havent always been the most positive guy in the world this year but I have always looked forward to Fridays this season and in this case Saturdays. Go Red Riders!!!
Trust me, you are nothing compared to the Big Red fans! haha ;) They find anything and everything to complain about even with a hall of fame coach Reno!

Red Rider Nation, Everyone is allowed to express their opinion. We all may not agree, but I for one enjoy your posts and your passion for Orrville football. Keep em coming... Good Luck tonight Riders, spank the kitty cats.

Mrs. J's was a happenin' place this morning. Got to talk at length to riders1 (my pleasure and thanks for the gift that you have been carrying around in your car for half a year! :D) and then greeted Go Riders.....................And GO RIDERS!

Seems to me that, after reading today's Daily Record, that they are doing their best to inspire Norwayne tonight. Chris Beers? Seriously? You mean the Chris Beers that wrote for the old Orrville Courier-Crescent about 30 years ago?

    And, again, GO RIDERS!

    Seniors:

Thank you for 4 amazing years of Red Rider Football! You guys have definately raised the bar for RTR! You guys are winners and have absolutely nothing to be ashamed of. Thank you for all the hard work you put in to make RTR. Best of luck to every single one of you in whatever paths you choose after you graduate. Again, thank you Seniors!

    Underclassmen:

Remember how this feels, and let this motivate you when you are in the weightroom, summer throwing sessions, 7 on 7's, and 2xdays. RTR is special and it is a privilege to wear that Orrville uniform! It is now your time to write your own story in Red Rider Football....Make it count!

    Coaches:

Thank you for the sacrifice you put each and every season to make RTR what it is. You guys do a great job with our young men and make them not only winners on the field, but winners in life! You guys are never thanked enough for the job you do....so THANK YOU!

    GO RIDERS! RTR

It has been quite a fun 4-5 years for this Red Rider fan. We have won some very very big games and these Red Riders have provided us all with some great moments of joy. Losing sucks whether to a good team or a bad one...it still sucks. Thanks coaches and players for thousands of hours of hard work. I hope when the sting of this loss wears off, you all can appreciate the ride we have been on here. Hope we can keep it going
  • Mr Miyagi
Nothing to hang your heads about Riders, , Miyagi knows it was not how you wanted it to end but it was a good season....Miyagi knows this loss stings and he will now quote Dickens (that is Charles Dickens for the uneducated reading)

" Reflect on your present blessings, of which every man has many; Not on your past misfortunes , of which all men have some. "

Good luck in the future and hopefully we can have another OCC/WCAL playoff game next year, this was real fun leading up to the game

Coach Haley didn't let us down, nobody did. We're very proud of this years edition of Red Rider football, players and coaches alike. Thank you seniors for all of your blood, sweat & tears you put into making this such a fun ride. Thanks to all of the coaches for an excellent effort this season. Its not how we wanted it to end but it rarely does and thats just the nature of competing at such a high level with such high expectations. RTR is special and you have added to its already lustrous past. Again, THANK YOU!

How good do you guys think Summers will be?

Orrville's program, not just their play, but the program--with its emphasis on character, tradition and the community support it receives is enjoyed by few communities. It's not about ribbons and signs and pep rallies, which is about as far as most communities go. I grew up in the WCAL and NEVER was exposed to what Orrville brings to its program. I heard someone in the stands say, "Once a Rider, always a Rider." I hear people say that about the Marines, but not many feel that way about their high school. The fact that you see so many homegrown coaches walking around in so many sports, many of them former champions themselves, says a lot about the pride this community has.

I wanted to get on here and make my closing statements. I just want to thank everyone on this site as well as coaches, players, fans, booster club members and all of Red Rider nation for making this such a fun season. The time everyone puts into this is truely what makes our tradition better than any other. For our seniors, wow what can you say. Thank you for one hell of a ride these last 4 years and dont hang your head over last night. Someday you guys will look back on this and realize what an excellent role you played in Red Rider tradition. For the underclassmen, work hard to get back here. Never forget what last night felt like and work towards fixing it next year. I was at every game this year and I have no regrets. One thing I always looked forward to was Friday nights in Orrville or wherever they were playing. I tell people in Stark County going to an Orrville game is more than just a game it is an event. I have said a lot of things on here that hasnt always made me the most liked person but hopefully you all understand this site is for just opinions and the game is played on the field by young kids that are trying to have fun. I knew last night when walking to my car from Medina that this will probably be the last year I can follow this team like I have in the past. My kids are getting to an age now where they are wondering why we are going to Orrville games on Friday nights instead of Jackson games or Northwest games where all their friends are. I have to be there for them as they get involved in school activities. I will say though no matter where I spend my Friday nights in the future there will always be a part of my heart that is forever an Orrville Red Rider! 5 years ago I began to write a book titled "Only in Orrville". I completed the first 3 chapters then just kind of lost interest. After waking up this morning and realizing just how great the Red Rider tradition is I am now inspired to complete it. Thanks again to everyone who makes this tradition what it is and if I had to choose today to wake up as a Norwayne fan knowing that they are in the regional final and just beat a good Orrville team last night and has made a good run, or wake up an Orrville fan that can look back at 22 years of greatness and remember all the greats that played in that uniform then there is simply no comparison. Yesterday this football team gave me the opportunity to sit at BW3s in Medina and catch up with some friends that I havent seen in a long time. At one point I laughed so hard I cried. I got this opportunity because of the time and effort that everyone in this program puts in and makes these rides so damn enjoyable. Thanks again to all of Red Rider Nation!!!

Great post Nation. You finish that book and sign me up for about twenty copies!! Even we can't win every big game, but it's nice to know we are the reason it often is a big game. RTR
  • OQB
We are still Orrville and one game does not define RTR and our football program. Sure this one hurts.....bad, but it is not the end of the world and these boys have learned so much and we are very proud of the young men that wear the Orrville jersey.

I'll be buying a copy of that book as well RRN!
  • RedRider1
    RRN,
Great post. That book needs to happen. Decade by decade....and an index in the back of our all-time record and playoff history.

Thank you Riders for a great season of football. Months in the weight room, late practices and hours of watching films and you still find time to do community service. That says a lot about your character! Thanks coaches for teaching these boys valuable life lessons. I didn't grow up in Orrville but I love to yell out GO RIDERS!
  • was_that_it
Congrats on a great seaon Riders! I enjoy watching Orrville every year, when I can. The way you young men play the game is impressive! I enjoy reading the Rider faithful on this thread as well, no matter how much yall argue at times. :)
On another note, when #15 Davis was hurt to begin the year it about made me sick, to think that a kid that works as hard as some of you had said he did to miss his senior year....kudos to him and the doctors for him being able to play and contribute to his team! That kid defines Orrville football and all high school football for that matter. It didn't end the way you wanted it, but you have nothing to hang your heads about.

I would like to take the time to say congratulations to the Orrville football team, your parents and the community. You play for one of the best programs in the state and you should be very proud. Orrvilles tradition of on field excellence is something to be admired. Carry yourselves with dignity and pride. All you have done is finished with another successful year of Orrville football and yet another playoff appearance. Congratulations!
