Yeah, I agree with rocket, so? I mean, I'm sure that he was the only one. (sarcasm). -

So then it WAS 4 states and not 3. -

Yeah, that is a shame, you'd think the concept of practice hard would just be a given, but seeing as how the parochials and just a handful of publics know this well kept secret, it might be a tough sell to the rest of the publics. -
skankStill waitin on the names of those Moeller backups....And Massillon starters for that matter fish.

skankLooks like the girls are getting in on the action now. I hope you don't mind, I took the liberty to highlight some things that may be helpful to you and the boys.
OHSAA bounces Lake Ridge girls basketball program

NORTH RIDGEVILLE — The Lake Ridge Academy girls basketball program has been banned from postseason play for two years, fined $2,500 and placed on probation for five years by the Ohio High School Athletic Association.
The OHSAA said in a statement the penalties were imposed on Thursday because Lake Ridge violated four sections of the recruiting bylaw and the bylaw that governs administrative responsibility.
It also said the ban from postseason tournament play is effective immediately. As a result, the ninth-ranked Lions will forfeit their 79-10 Division IV sectional final rout of Cleveland Max Hayes on Wednesday. Max Hayes will advance to a Creston district semifinal against Dalton next Wednesday.
Lake Ridge, which was loaded with talented transfer students, hammered Canton Heritage Christian, 95-12, in its sectional opener on Saturday. That game is not affected by the ban.
“We wholeheartedly disagree with the decision,” Lake Ridge principal Michael Shaulis said. “We’re currently deciding on what course of action to follow.”
It is the second time in two years that some girls now on the Lake Ridge roster have experienced a forfeit loss at tournament time. Eight of them were at the former Regina High School in South Euclid last year when Regina was forced to forfeit its 68-45 regional semifinal win over Elyria Catholic because of an ineligible player.
In its statement, the OHSAA said: “The penalties are a result of a violation of Bylaw 4, Section 9, Recruiting, and Bylaw 3-1-1, Administrative Responsibility.”
It also quoted sections of the bylaws OHSAA Commissioner Daniel B. Ross found Lake Ridge had violated. They are:
Bylaw 4-9-1, Recruiting: “Any attempt to recruit a prospective student-athlete for athletic purposes shall be strictly prohibited.”
Bylaw 4-9-2, Recruiting: “…the term ‘recruit’ shall mean the use of influence by any person connected or not connected with the school to secure the transfer of a prospective student-athlete.”
Bylaw 4-9-3, Recruiting: “Recruiting a select athletic group or individual … is a violation.”
Bylaw 4-9-8, Recruiting: “roviding financial aid or scholarships to a student on the basis of athletic ability is prohibited.” Bylaw 3-1-1, Administrative Responsibility: “The principal of the school shall be held primarily responsible in all matters pertaining to interscholastic athletics involving the school.
“The principal has the responsibility to educate the member school’s students, coaches, school personnel, boosters and other appropriate persons involved in interscholastic athletics regarding OHSAA bylaws and sport regulations that could affect them.
“Further, the principal shall monitor the school’s compliance with OHSAA bylaws and sports regulations and conduct an appropriate inquiry if information arises concerning a possible violation of OHSAA bylaws and/or sports regulations.”
The OHSAA regulates and governs high school and junior high school sports involving member schools. Schools can choose to become members or not. Non-members are not eligible for postseason play sponsored by the association and are not governed by its regulations.
Athletic Director Debby Ghezzi said the players had been told of the decision and were disappointed. The Lions (18-4) were ranked ninth statewide in the final Associated Press weekly poll. Some observers believed they had a legitimate shot at the Division IV state championship.
“Truthfully, we were so surprised and disappointed we haven’t decided what our next step is,” Ghezzi said. “We’re in the process of deciding what to do. We’ll have meetings to help us make that decision.” -
genghis dongI thought the ohsaa let private schools recruit. I mean that's what you have been saying the whole thread. Maybe there isn't an advantage as you have stated over and again on this thread.

The fact that the OHSAA is finally cracking down on this? I'm just as surprised as you. Looks like Mr. Muscaro and Dr. Ross may have different views. -

BTW, let's hope that Dr. Ross concentrates on the gridiron in the near future. -

And I thought YOU (and the boys) said that, "Providing financial aid or scholarships to a student on the basis of athletic ability", wasn't practiced in the parochial schools? I mean that's what you (and the boys) have been saying the whole thread, maybe there HAVE been the advantages that you (and the boys) have denied over and over on this thread.
Again, one of the violation:Bylaw 4-9-8, it's highlighted....READ IT. -

Quite sure, as do most, (if not all), public schools. -

The Moeller state title teams in 75/76/79 had zero players from outside the parish boundary. Zero. So if you want to cry that they took the best players from freaking Deer Park and Sycamore...best of luck with that angle. :rolleyes:skank;691203 wrote:1) Of course their backups were better than most of Massillons starters, you don't assemble an all star team and have no depth on it.
2) It seems I forgot who Moellers back ups were, how bout you remind me? Massillons starters for that Matter? Yeah, that's what I thought.
3) A two year period? Who you trying to bs? The average passerby may fall for that, but most of us know better.
The 1980 and 82 teams had a total of 5 players from outside the parish boundary. I know the fact that they were from KY and CA (Two states, not that it matters) gets you all excited, but the fact remains that only the Fransiscos and Mike Brooks were in any way impact players. As I said, kick all 5 off the team and they still kick the crap out of Massillon in 80 & 82.
Now, since you're all hot and bothered, what say we discuss the shenanigans that Massy pulled during the 40s-60s to win all those titles? -

Mike Brooks? Mike? You don't even know the kids name. And it's Francisco....NOT Fransisco....Losing credibility.
Now, 1, you have failed to name the Moeller backups, 2, you have failed to name the Massillon starters....Losing credibility.
Mark, (not Mike) Brooks, and the Francisco, (not Fransisco) brothers were the ONLY IMPACT PLAYERS....Losing credibility.
Let's hear something, anything from 40-60 that you know Massillon "pulled", and we'll discuss it.
Furthermore, just a question, but do you know EVERY kid from EVERY team Moeller fielded from say, 1974 to 1985? Where EVERY kid is originally from? -

You amuse me. Mark Brooks. I laugh at you every time you attack spelling errors as "credibility" issues. Desperation personified.skank;692306 wrote:Mike Brooks? Mike? You don't even know the kids name. And it's Francisco....NOT Fransisco....Losing credibility.

I know one thing for sure, skanky. I have more "credibility" in my ass hair than you can ever hope for. -

Wow your blind hatetred toward the parochial schools is amazing. The last time I checked Larkridge Acdamey was a K-12 college prep school, and had no affiliation with the diocese of cleveland. So this has nothing to do with parochial schools. Larkridge was breaking the rules and they will have to pay for it as they should. Just like any other school public or private should pay if they break the rules. -

Do you know that about Massillion, and don't lie and say Massillion cause we all know that's not true. -
Rocket08First of all Donger, your spelling errors are incredible, and therefor your credibility is nil
Lake Ridge Academy IS NOT a parochial school. As the previous poster stated, it is a college prep school. (Someone please explain to Skank what college prep means)
Also, they beat the Mooney girls tennis team this year, and therefor should be forced to close -
skankYour correct, my bad, but they are a private school, which means they do follow the same guidelines as the parochials.

Spelling errors? You mean you thought that a word pronounced M A R K, was spelled M I K E? Now, your unfamiliarity with the situation will be disguised as a spelling error? Nice try.
For future reference, when trying to be credible, know peoples names. Not like when you say you know EVERY player, (2nd string player at that), and then only name the 3 most notable players from that era. -

I was talking about your getting your titty all twisted over the spelling of Francisco. For a guy all caught up with "credibility," you have the reading skills of a third grader.skank;692458 wrote:Spelling errors? You mean you thought that a word pronounced M A R K, was spelled M I K E? And where did I say I knew every player? Please show the quote where I said that. Thanks.
Finally, I picked those players because they were amongst the 5 out of state players that you have such a stiffy for. Their notability is irrelevant.
Carry on the good fight, Capt. Credibility! I'll keep coming to you when I need entertainment. -

You don't know who the players were, sizes, speed, athletic abilities....but you know that they would have won?
