For a grand total of 79-14 and a winning pct. of .849
Or how about this one?
Since the playoffs started, (1972) Publics and Parochials have gotten together to play for the championship 22 times with the Parochials going 17-5 for a winning pct. of .772. With Canton McKinley winning 3 of the 5.
Despite representing a VERY small pct of schools in DI....Over this span of 22 Public/Parochial head to head matchups 7 parochial schools have been represented, Mooney, Moeller, Tol. St. Francis, St. Edward, St. Ignatius, St. Xavier & Elder, all have at least 1 win, on the other hand, 15 public schools have been represented, WWR, Gahanna Lincoln, Canton McKinley, Massillon, Hoover, Fairfield, Princeton, Centerville, Westerville South, Brunswick, Lima Sr., Huber Heights Wayne, Warren G. Harding, Mentor & Pickerington Central. Only 3 schools have a win. Fairfield, Lima Sr. & Canton Mckinley 3x. So, that's 100% of the parochial schools that have participated winning at least 1, compared to 20% of publics participating winning at least 1.
Now, let's look at DI playoffs ALL TIME....ALL GAMES.
Publics have met parochials 251 times total in the playoffs going 167-84 for a winning pct. of .665
Let's break it down by decade.
1970s Parochials lead 7-3 70%
1980s Parochials lead 30-18 62.5%
1990s Parochials lead 50-24 67.5%
2000s Parochials lead 63-35 64%
2010s Parochials lead 17-4 80% (Parochials went 9-1 this year)
So let's recap shall we?
Over the last 4 years, the constant parochials have a 79-14 .849%
100% of the parochial schools that have played a public for a title have won at least 1
compared to 20% of publics.
Parochials have gone 17-5 in head to head matchups with publics .772%
Parochials have an all time record in all playoff games played of 167-84 .665
Now, I know I'm whining here, crying, pissing, moaning, whatever you want to call it, but I personally think these numbers speak pretty loud.
Explain please. -

Glenville, Colerain, and Solon are a combined 95-6 for a winning percentage of .941 regular season vs. Ohio public schools over the same time period. If the Catholic schools are cheating because of their record, and these schools have an even better record over the same time period, are these schools cheating too? Or do you want to concede that we can both cherry-pick stats?skank;1001116 wrote:Explain please. -

What does that have to do with scheduling those teams? Ursuline has some, and they schedule St. Ed., Mentor. -

Ok, look at that 95-6 record vs publics. Then figure in their records vs parochials.
Glenville Reg. sea. 1-3 Playoffs 1-2
Colerain 2-3, reg sea. playoffs 1-3
Solon playoffs 0-1
for a combined total of....5-12, so yes, those three dominate publics....But THEN, they get dominated by parochials. -

They lost to better teams. I can create a list of private schools that have losing records vs. public schools over that time period. All that we are showing is that wins are not evenly distributed in competitive sports. If they were evenly distributed, everyone would go 5-5 every year.skank;1001471 wrote:Ok, look at that 95-6 record vs publics. Then figure in their records vs parochials.
