Round 2: Orrville Red Riders 8-3 vs Elyria Catholic Panthers 10-1

5knotsI don't view film with any team. I watch film whenever I get my hands on it at my house..which is quite often.....come on over. It beats dancing with the stars! lol

He's also a member of a secret society of "friends of the program" that reach all levels of this town. We all get together and watch film from a secret underground bunker (password at the door changes every 12 hours).Series62;553763 wrote:H-You're not a coach nor are you on the coaching staff, why do you get to view film with the team, ^^^?
We also direct large amounts of cash (unmarked bills, thank you very much) towards coaches who call plays....we tell them who gets the ball and how often they get it.
It's a lot of belly laughs and cigar smoke. Pretty good time. But we get our agenda advanced...so all is well.

Series62^^^Dancing with the stars???, How do you know, you watch that too? LOL!

"..Pit,
That's what we like. Maybe all this attention to the underutilized Turner will open things up for Drew. ."
Is that some kind of wishful thinking that a HS fan who creates a website might somehow over focus on one aspect of Orrville and impact the game??
I'm not the brightest guy in the world so I ask for your patientince in tryin to understand what in the world you mean by that statement.
My point is...depending on what week of film they watched...they may get a different idea on what to focus on.
We've had different "heroes" from week to week. Focus on just one guy and another guy could step up. Same as EC. I'll guarantee they'll try to make tomorrow night about someone other than Danny Reaser and Zach Rogers. -
Con_AlmaHmmm. My guess is they will have had films of week 9 and 10 with a scouting report on week 11.
Do you think EC's defense throughout the year has been one which focuses on player opposition emphasis or do you think it will be for the first time this week?
I've never got the impression their defensive philosophy was carried out in such a way. -

Many call them by their formal name, Booster Club!
Some are very powerful and tend to get their children and friends of their children favorable playing time regardless of their skill. I've heard some "Orrvillians" say that about Wooster. Is it true? -

I would be shocked if* the offensive game plan wasn't highly inclusive of these two. -
5knotsIt seems their philosophy has been to be the "TREMINATER" of all opposing forces. (the "TERMINATER" word should be done in your best Arnold accent!)

Chase Hoobler was the stepson of our booster club pres. Did he get playing time because of that? Same with Drew Brenner...I'm sure it's just because his dad is "very powerful."
Tim Hiller's dad is pretty well respected in the town....I'm sure that's why he set school records and went to a D-1 college.
I'm sure none of those 3 examples are what you meant....but I'll also guess that you wont name examples. -
5knotsYeah...we have such powerful people here in Orrville. Better not cross them! haha!

SinisterMinisterCongratulations to Mason on his scholarship offer. Lots to look forward to in the next year as decisions are made and football is played. Allen Trieu knows less about football than me and has probably seen equal playing time as me, but he wrote a nice article. I'm not a fan of Trieu but certainly one of Mason Monheim. It is a big deal to play football at the next level and #25 is a big deal. Good luck this week and enjoy. This young man must have a wonderful mom to be so successful..
-
5knotsYou have plenty to be proud of in your house Sinister. Congrats to you and yours as well. Yep, great Mom....just like Fuller has. Good luck vs Tallmadge....get 'er done! I missed you!!!

rrfansome things never change. Pot stir and add nothing productive. You know who you are.
Good Luck Riders! -

WOW! Hey Series62, did something happen to you during your childhood that you need to talk about? Such anger!Series62;553642 wrote:Speaking of big plays...what big play has he made on defense lately?
It is not a diss, (disrespect), simply because his Big Ten DE "talent" hasn't been seen! Stop attempting to make it seem as though people are putting down some of the football players.
They must have missed it during the election of the OCC Defensive POY too! -

Yes he did that why he is better known as Sorea$$62. -
OQBFunny reading today fellas, keeping me entertained!

riders1Here is a little commentary on WEOL that mentions Orrville vs EC http://weol.northcoastnow.com/audio/weol/111110JimAllen.mp3

OQBI love seeing the 4-5 wide pass all the time...but it is not this team's strengths! A good running game will ALWAYS help a QB out no matter what level you are playing at. We have 3 starting running backs in Tre, Mason, and Matt and I bet a lot of people envy our roster and how many weapons we do have...but we only use 1 maybe 2 on a good night.
If I had my way (which I don't haha, and I'm sure a lot of you are glad I don't ), on criticical downs, short yardage, redzone, goalline, and two minute you need different personel on the field in each situation!
Critical downs: You need the absolute best players out there...even if they go both ways! ie...have max in on third downs, he just creates another mismatch and CATCHES THE BALL!
Short Yardage: Matt at RB, Mason at FB, Max at TE....this should just be a given, no exceptions!
Redzone: Playmakers should be on the field...including Max, Playaction pass would work great in these situations...especially if we have Matt and Mason in the backfield.
Goal Line: The Davis/Monheim combo is very difficult to stop...you need a yard...you got it with these two!
2-Minute: Turner, Brenner, Rice are you 3 recievers, Max is your middle of the field guy, Tre at RB really good at catching out of the backfield.
These things are just givens and shouldn't have to be brought up....I know Max has been injury prone, but the kid is a player and hardly ever drops a pass if it's in his area. Get him more offensive plays. -
REDDEVILI'LL HAVE TO GO WITH ORRVILLE, THE PUBLIC SCHOOL IN THIS CONTEST! GOODLUCK TO YOU! YOU FANS NEED TO JUST GET ALONG AND ENJOY THE PLAYOFF RIDE. THE COACHES WILL HANDLE THE PLAYING TIME. WOW!!! GLAD I'M NOT INVOLVED IN THAT POLITICAL MESS!!!!!
-
5knotsHey Devil. The only mess is with the Red Rider wannabees from the surrounding towns, who we already beat up on, chiming in like they know how we should run our team. haha.

Love it! Maybe we can slip Davault a cheat sheet. -
Go RidersRumor has it EC struggles to stop a good running game. Any truth to that?

I bet they're a lot like Ashland (and us really). Prone to give up yards, but makes plays when they need to. I think they can be run on. If that's option A for us and it's not working...then and only then do we open it up.
This is something that has bugged me in the past in another sport....a coach always wanted to win it HIS way....instead of the best (and sometimes easier) way. We need to play to our strengths (run game & defense) and let the chips fall where they may.
It's not about winning in style, or by a certain amount of points....it's about winning. Period.
