100th meeting. Wooster v. Orrville

  • 62_80_47_Woo
As far as a rule I'd assume no. Devon Daugherty took a concussion in the first half of the Madison game. Did not have his pads on for the 2nd half. Was playing again the next Friday. I'm really getting to wonder about these new Helmets. It sure seems the more the manufactures improve them safety wise these kids are suffering more and more head trauma. Sooner or later their are gonna have mush for brains.

What brand of helmets is Wooster wearing this year? Triway is wearing the new Revolutions and has not had any head injuries this year. Knock on wood.

    Old Rider good points!

I know when I played coaches were cracking down on players, you sat out quarters, series, games for breaking team rules etc...After I graduated though it seems like these kids can do nothing wrong in the eyes of the coaches...example one of our starters missed last weeks films....does he sit out a little bit....no! If that would've been one of my teammates, we would've been out for at least a series or two, maybe even the first quarter.

I have noticed the walking around, helmets off, untucked jerseys as well.....I have also noticed the little temper tantrums/throwing helmets/punching the ground after a guy scored a TD....oh and these are all by "senior leaders"

    Where is the discipline at?

haha I'm almost done with school.....But you guys don't think I know anything about offense, so I guess I won't try, but I think my new and innovative ideas would work....just sayin! :)
  • Old Rider
    It starts at the top.

There is zero fire and intensity in these kids...(not all of them) but certain individuals seem to be just going through the motions and when times get tough....they stick their tails between their legs and piss down their legs!

High school football is so much about senior leadership...still waiting for a couple of them to start LEADING!
  • OQB
yes, and I'm sure you know the ones that I am talking about...

Not sure what brand of helmets we have. I know there are at least three styles on the field, but i will find out. the most popular seems to carry this new air flow design.
  • Old Rider
QB...yes we are thinking of the same individuals! ...and so is the entire community!

Its pretty bad when the D-coordinator has to ask a kid "are you playing or not"...YOU DON'T TAKE PLAYS OFF! ITS 100% ALL THE TIME OR SIT ON THE BENCH!
  • Old Rider
...and furthermore. Why has Cody Rice and Matt Davis become "subs" on offense??? Are you kidding me??? They are 2 of the tougher kids on this team with all kinds of ability (which they have shown) and now we aren't even using them?

..as the NFL gameday guys would say.."C'Mon Maaan!"
  • 62_80_47_Woo
"C'Mon Maaan!" that's funny. I think this every time McCreary opens his mouth......

Ah, a point I made before the regular season even started, but got "heck" for saying that. Hey, I am as big a Rider booster as anyone, but I also know how to call a spade a spade.

And OrrvilleQB: don't end your sentences with a preposition! ........that's Wayne County talk! ha ha!

Interesting comments on the concussion thing. I think if the doctor of choice rules it's a concussion, it's an automatic sit out for the next game. So, what happens is that later in the week.............you get a second opinion!

Just to lighten up the mood, here's an old joke.

The lady goes to the doctor for an examination and afterwards, the doctor tells her that her problem is that she is too "big". The lady says, "How dare you say that to me! I want a second opinion". The doctor says, "OK, you're ugly, too".

    BRF out!

Orrville QB....drop the issue. It was not very long ago you were out there and whether you like to remember or not you have your share of skeletons from when you were 17-18 yrs old. Just like me. Let it go.

2 Poll questions to throw at ya.

1 which team wins? Orrville or Wooster?
2 which coaching staff will cost their team the win? Orrville or Wooster?
  • OQB
Just making a point...which is true, and some of you don't want to admit it. As for those skeletons....I did not throw my helmet, punch the ground, have temper tantrums when I was in that uniform. Ok I'm done.

    Funny joke BRF.

I'll bite, since my attempt to lighten things up failed! (And I certainly agree to not make things personal by questioning "heart", shall we say?).

    1. Orrville wins for the 6th straight time.

    2. Our coaches might get "loose", but will not lose it.
  • 62_80_47_Woo
Question #2 was more in fun than anything. I personally thought Orrville always had top notch coaches, put the kids in position to win. Until these last few weeks.

As for Woosters coaches, enough said.
  • THE4RINGZ
First of all BRF he is an Orrville grad with some loose spelling. Dont cast stones.

    1. Wooster wins.

    2. If Wooster loses it will be due to the coaching staff. This years team has talent. And they have something to play for, a play off spot. If the coaches cannot GE them up and have them ready to play with a chip on their shoulders that is not on the players.

Wooster........YOU HAVE TO SHOW UP TO PLAY ON SATURDAY
  • BRF
What is "GE"? And from what high school did you graduate? (I almost said "what school did you graduate from"...but remembered that I chided someone for ending their sentences in Wayne County style!). Pitman will set us straight. Actually.....I like that Wayne County talk....as in "where are my keys...AT?". It means we are emphatic, although it is not proper English. Where is the summation, so far, of this little poll....AT? ;-)
  • OQB
Just found out I gotta work Saturday night...o well.
  • THE4RINGZ
"GE" is Wooster code for "get".

Northwestern is where I graduated from school at. I thought you knew.

All right I need to go warsh my car. How's that?
  • OQB
If you can't "GE" up for a game as big as last night or next week....you shouldn't have a uniform on. Sure the coaches need to get them excited, but that IS on the player if you can't get excited and ready to play football.

I agree with you in principle but when the whole team comes out flat for big games that goes beyond the players.
  • OQB
Yes I would agree with that statement.

    It is awesome!

Let's see: you are a Triway fan, a somewhat General fan (especially lacrosse), a Steeler fan who wears a Triway jersey and Pitts-puke hat to HS games, a grad of the Huskies, AND one of the major trolls on the OC. Pot stirrer....that's what you are. And I enjoy it!

    AT!

    Enjoy your car wash!
