  • OQB
That would've been a sweet idea...although Orrville's uniform has not had much change if any at all in 25 years...

In the right system I think Max will do just fine. he has a frame that can carry 250-270lbs easily. He has velocity upon impact. Games may not have gone the way Max or us would have wanted them, but I will tell you this...act like he is just another DE and he will make you pay for that. College coaches at the type of programs that showed interest in Max don't whiff too often. For what and who we were playing may not fit Max to a tee. He has work to do to be a player at a big ten school...I am sure he would tell you that as well. Go ahead and ignore him Saturday night.....go ahead.
Any high school player going to the Big 10 will have work to do, that is given.

Perfhaps his size is what they were interested in as he does have that...

When you say, "For what and who we were playing may not fit Max to a tee." That smacks of making excuses for his lackluster play! To be considered a DE force to be reckoned with, that should have been seen even in the Clear Fork game at some point, especially since he did not play much on offense. They didn't ignore him, he was just never a factor in stopping their run attack. Or their passing, (the few times they did pass).

Wooster cant raise enough money to purchase new uni's the way it is, throw backs would be almost impossible.
  • THE4RINGZ
I know but they found the money to tear down perfectly good softball dug outs and replace them with even nicer ones.
  • OQB
I'm sure some company would be willing to foot the bill for them, just gotta ask. Smuckers would probably do it if we asked them...

You base your assessment on final scores and fan accounts so you may be at a disadvantage. I am not making excuses for anyone, but it is so easy for a fan watching the game in real time to lay blame wherever they want....myself included. When you have the ability to watch a game film you learn much much more. As for the CF game. 1) they do what they do very very well....where did they have success? running to our strong side? cutting back? do you know those answers? I assume no. When they gashed us in the middle were we blitzing our strong side backer? You don't know that answer either. You and others just figure a kid should dominate the entire field and the other team because he is a Big Ten commit. It is frustration on our fan's side but just plain ignorant for you to try to assess his play. I will re-iterate what I said before...just treat him like any other High School DE and see how QB 1 likes it.
  • OQB
Most guys don't get that you can learn so much by watching film... but you can't just watch the replay of the game, you have to break down each position and see what is going on. Film is a very powerful and.very useful tool to learn the game.

    Wooster wins this one.
  • 5knots
    Nope.
  • 5knots
Now if you play QB or RB and have the opportunity to be an integral part of almost every play we fans can also error the other way and say this kid or that kid is unbelievable because he ran for 300 or passed for 400 and in reality he may be an average back at best and just so happens he has a great offensive line or offensive scheme. I go back to an earlier point that these College coaches are not in the position they are in by making a bunch of bad choices along the way. They know what they are looking for and I don't think they error too often....they can...but not too often.

5knots, You may wanna call AD Hamsher. Wooster Booster Club is posting on FaceBook that RV's will KNOT be allowed in the School parking lot all weekend.
  • THE4RINGZ
At 4:00 they are hosting a tailgate party and awarding prizes to decorated vehicles. Although seeing how it is sponosred by the General's Army I don't see
    5Knots winning any prizes.

You may want to call the Nazarene Church right across the street from the school.
  • 5knots
Yeah..thanks I got that word from Keri earlier. They want us all in the church lot across the street. Makes no difference to me where we park. Just makes a little longer walk for some of the senior citizens we'll have. She did offer some golf cart service for that.
  • Go Riders
5knots since you watced the Clear Fork film. Was their defense that good to shut us out? I mean wooster has all week to learn from that game.
  • 5knots
Then again if I park where I want I wonder what the Wooster School parking ticket would run me(us)? $5-$6? It's not like you can just hook one (or two or three or four) of these up to a tow truck. It takes North End Garage an hour or so just to prep the drive train so it can be towed...and that is only IF they can get to it in the proper way. Might just boil down to how much of an A#$ I (we) wanna be......wonder what color jerseys we are allowed to wear?

You're just trying to get mo going Go Riders! Well they shut us out so it was obviously good enough that night. As long as you learn from each game. They aren't going to learn much from the CF game film that is for sure.
  • OQB
We shut ourselves down quite a bit and the Colts didn't give up The big play.
  • 5knots
    ^^that was the key
  • tsst_fballfan
    Good luck Rider!!!

Now that you're not on school grounds....break out the alcoh.....oh wait..you're on church property now.

    Always a catch.

    :)

My mom lives on Portage Hill...thinking about parking there & walking. Traffic will be a true nightmare....postgame will be much worse....unless we win.

to bad it's not a Catholic Church! could have had a keg and Bingo and Contini Pizza!

A-I'm not blaming him for the loss to Clear Fork
B-Yes Clear Fork runs the ball very well, yet, I didn't see at any time #88, "playing with a vengeance"
C-I don't figure he should or could "dominate the entire field because he is a Big Ten commit", I believe that his presence/skills should have an impact at some point
D-Because I didn't get to watch game film does not mean I didn't "see" the game...I made my assessment by what I saw him do, he was not doubled, so he did not free up any co-defensive players to pressure the QB/RB and his presence in the backfield was for the most part after the ball was gone via pass/run.
E-So you saw the game film, how great was his play, (as a Big Ten commit)
