Week 7: Orrville (5-1,3-0) at Ashland (5-1,3-0)
-
OQBCoach Valentine is too good of a coach to allow that to go on.
That opening second half fumble was huge. We score on that possesion and tie it 21-21, its a whole different ball game. -

Huge swing in momentum with that fumble. -
OQBYes it was!!
-
ArrowGrad02Orrville's "Strong Defense" was not as good as advertised. Weak secondary and many holes on the line.
-
OQBThat was the biggest line we have faced all year. We are very undersized on our d-line. When we get In the backfield and break stuff up and put pressure on the QB, our defense is lights out. I could tell max has broken/bruised rib because he was not himself tonight.
Fuller had all day to throw and you can only cover a guy so long before he finds a hole -
wallykLots of issues in this game:
1. Orrville's defense is not as good as advertised, DB's and pass coverage was too slow.
2. Ashland's defense is too soft
3. For any Arrow players reading this, You have way too much talent to feel like you need to run your mouths and get senseless penalties. You have won nothing yet. SHUT UP AND PLAY THE GAME!!
4. As stated earlier, we run the spread better than anyone else the Riders have played this year. The Arrow ability to outscore opponents is still working.
5. Monheim is a very good player.
6. Pirman=non-factor
A fun game to watch, good luck the rest of the way. -
OQBYou can tell Pirman has a broken/cracked/dislocated rib. He hasn't been the player he is the past two weeks, but he has a lot of heart to play through pain for his team.

5knotsAshland is as advertised. Comgrats on the victory. Marcus Fuller will be a very good College QB. He just does not make bad decisions and puts the ball right where he wants it. He had his way with us tonight. Max not healthy hurt us, but Fuller's mobility was surprising. You could tell he has matured physically...solid athlete. Ashland D will be there Achilles heel in D II....a lot of solid run teams there. They will be able to keep the ball away from the O. Correct that and you guys should do well in playoffs.
Now that the compliments are done here is a little for Sinister. We don't raise our young men here in a small town to taunt the other team and there fans.. for that Marcus fuller should be ashamed. I would have expected better from an Ivy league kid. As far as your defensive players. If that is your husbands coaching for his players to treat a kid at the bottom of a pile the way your defense did...he also should be ashamed. We don't teach that here in small town America either. It is no secret to most on here my son is #25. I can hold my head up high for him and his teammates....you would do well to strive for that level of respect on the football field. Pretty sad you play that way....pretty sad that you think you need to play way...you are a better team than that. -
OQBAshland has always played dirty. My senior year we were about to score before half, and I took off running when I was tackled three guys were punching at my kidneys and one punched my private areas. I went in at half peeing blood, and they made me sit the rest of the game.. I always hated Ashland more than Wooster, as did a lot of the guys.

OQB5knots, please tell your son he played a great game for me!

SinisterMinister5K, emotions for this game were quite high. My only regret is that I showed Marcus all of the crap you said, and made copies and gave it to Danny to post everywhere he could. Marcus felt disrespected. He is a 17 year old kid and the taunt towards your side was directed at head coach Devault. Coach Devault was calling him names during the game so I guess boys will be boys. It is the only flag that he has ever had in all of his years of play. I am not ashamed. Coach Devault has taunted Marcus for the last two years, he expects to be targeted by players but not by coaches. I'm sure he'll be running Monday. I'm glad to know which jersey you wear. Marcus said that #25 hit him the hardest. He leaves the game with respect for him and found him to be much more of a threat than the original jersey I thought you wore.
It's strange that we as parents get on here and talk so much smack, not always behaving like role models yet expect our kids to be flawless. I wonder how many flags would have been thrown on us this week.
Good luck to you and the Riders, I now become a fan. -

OQBFirst of all it's DAvault, and I highly doubt he (Coach Davault) was directing anything towards a player. He is a grown man and was probably complaining to the officials about the excessive celebration and running around your son did after a big play. And I also doubt that that is the ONLY flag EVER called on your son. If the offense gets a delay of game, that penalty is on the QB as well.
-
5knotsCoach Doug Davault has never EVER called out a kid or taunted a kid as a coach or as a player. I know. I have known him most all my life. If that makes your son feel better..let him pretend that occurred and then his Mom won't be on his back. we'll just let it all go at that. You prove to me you Ashland can clean up there act as a football team and I will become a fan. I will never be a fan of what I am watching right now from your defensive players...never.
-
OQBAmen 5knots Coach has way more class than that, just sounds like an excuse from a scared son about getting grounded or yelled at by his mom,( because we know his father would never yell at him, he's the defensive Coordinator and coaches his players to do that stuff). Fuller is a very good QB, but needs to control his emotions and act mature out there. He looked like a little kid running around pointing fingers at everyone and taking his helmet off before he gets to the sideline.
Like I have said before, I was taken out of the game my senior year after being punched in the kidneys and private areas by 3 Ashland players, and nothing was called. I ended up peeing blood because of it! I Have ALWAYS hated Ashland more than Wooster, and Wooster is our rival. -
SinisterMinisterOk Mr. Simmons, time to grow up isnt it? This isn't about you. You can think what you want. I bet after Marcus plays his college career he won't be on here crying about a high school game. The chest pounding was towards Coach Doug. His coaches will deal with him. I think you know what I meant about the flag but we can deal in semantics. If this is the most serious infraction that Marcus has in his senior year of high school, I will remain proud. He was celebrating and letting your coach know he wasn't the pu#@y he said he was. He was celebrating excessively and took the flag, done. Oh and Mr. Simmons, he is a little kid running around.
-
5knotsJust don't get it at all. Best wishes
-
OQBSounds like I pushed some buttons!
Never said it was about me, just giving a personal example of how dirty Ashland played, and still plays. There is no place in football for that kind of play, and I am not a fan of Ashland until I see a little more football and less dirty play.
That defense will hold you guys back from making a long playoff run.... -
OQB5knots, they have their nose so far stuck up they can't see what is really going on!
-
Bloody ToothbrushSO......Who won tonight fellas?
-
OQBI think you know, but you had to come over here and have your one post on our thread before you get kicked off huh?

I agree. The penalties we had were inexcusable and could hold us back if not corrected.
