Week 7: Orrville (5-1,3-0) at Ashland (5-1,3-0)

  • OQB
By Former QB, do you mean that you played in Jr. High and then quit because you couldn't compete with Housewright or Fuller?? I'll look for you at halftime, what instrument do you play? Ashland is a very good football team this year, they are every year, but the same can be said for Orrville. This will be a great game, and the best team will win.

oh and just an FYI, stop with the all caps it makes you look very immature.

ps: BRF prepares for class everyday.....and his students love his class!
  • OQB
I did forget to mention that we haven't lost to Clear Fork, so I don't think there will be much trouble there either, especially with our defense.
  • SinisterMinister
By former qb I meant that you have stated several times that you were the qb for Orrville. It was not meant to be disrespectful. I sincerely thought that as a former and formidable qb yourself that you would enjoy watching our qb....as a peer. I don't necessarily think that the best team will be decided Friday night. I think that the team that wins Friday night will be the best on that night. Two great teams met last year and one lost by a point. I don' think that meant the best team won, I think it meant the Arrows had one more point that night. I guess that using caps makes me immature, was less mature than attacking someone for making a comment. BRF isn't my teacher and I don't need schooling from him. You insulting the band though, that's mature. They played and cheered for you, maybe you shouldn't insult them. However, I'd be happy to meet you Friday. I'm a mom and I'll be wearing 18.
  • OQB
Misunderstood you Sinister, I thought you were saying that you yourself were a former QB, my fault on that one. As far as the two teams playing Friday night, I agree with you there, the better team Friday night will win the game...simple as that. I was not "attacking" you just sticking up for a friend of mine, and any Orrville poster has the backs of any other Orrville poster. Plus you asked if he planned for anyone, I just simply told you that he plans for class everyday. Never said you had to be in his class, just answered your question. Finally I did not insult the band. I was the only athlete in my family, my brother and two sisters were all in the band, and my brother is a band director. No insulting there...
    I'm a mom and I'll be wearing 18.
If I understand that right you would be Marcus' mom, you should be very proud of what he has done in his career at Ashland. I wish him luck in the college decision process, I know how it goes, it was a very stressful time for me in choosing where I wanted to play. But as for Friday night...Go Riders!!! haha
  • SinisterMinister
I have been the wife of the defensive coordinator longer than the mom of the quarterback. I know that you gave him fits. Here's hoping that Marcus gives your defensive coordinator the same Friday.
  • BRF
    I guess I struck a nerve.

    Go Riders!
  • Old Rider
Boy isn't this just "one big happy family"?

As the brother of the defensive coordinator for Orrville, I can assure you that he WILL have his defense ready for Fuller and Co.

Sinister...i have heard that a HUGE steak dinner with lots of potatoes/gravy is a great meal about 2 hrs before the game...could you feed Marcus some of that this Friday? I promise...it won't slow him down!

This year it is Fuller and Company. I won't predict who will win this game but I will predict that it won't be the same offense as 2008. As a former qb you should enjoy watching our college-bound qb do his stuff.
And you should enjoy watching our college bound DE do his stuff as well. We will bring a little talent to Ashland Sinister....FYI
  • OQB
    haha it's a small world!!
  • OQB
5knots, we have a few college prospects..not just Pirman!
  • 5knots
Yeah.....Just thought I needed to mention one.
  • OQB
I hope Max or Mason gets to "Spy" Fuller in this game, they will be laying the wood, as will the rest of the "Red Curtain Defense"
  • BRF
You people need to stop bullying!
  • OQB
Don't make me give you a cyber-swirly and take your lunch money!!

    HAHA :D
  • SinisterMinister
Since we're family now 5K, will you be wearing 88?
BRF, you're the only bully. I am impressed to see you keep punching a girl.

Rich. BTW, I don't punch girls.
  • Old Rider
Hopefully the only person wearing #88 is Max...other than Marcus Fuller when Max is laying on top of him after a sack! haha

Plus 1! LOL, ya bully.....oh, wait.....I forgot that I'M the only bully! Hahahahaha! I think we should get 5knots a #88 jersey. :-)

Wow this is so much fun! Can I come sit with you boys Friday night? I'll warn you though, I'm pretty tough. I've been listening to smack talk for 26 years as the support system for a coach and now player. I can hang with you. Pirman might sack him but as long as he gets up my prayers are answered.
  • 5knots
    Amen to that Sinister!
  • wallyk
Alot of noise is made about college prospects. Doesn't matter Friday. Great players on both teams. Case in point: Brandon Saine ran for all of 39 yards against the Arrow defense in 2006, good college prospect, It only matters what happens this Friday. The Orrville defense is good. Fuller and friends will find the holes, however. We know the Rider passing game is not the threat this year that it has been in the past. Simpson and Monheim will get yards. But, I think they will fall short of winning this game.

I can't wait for Friday......you guys may not mean too...but you really get under my skin sometimes. Should we start listing college prospects who struggled against us in the last four years? Ughhh
  • Old Rider
I agree Sinister...I never wan't to see an injury to any player.
  • RedRider1
Finally...some talk from both sides. Makes the game much more interesting.

If there's been one school over the years that has locked us down offensively, it's been Ashland. Can't dispute that. They always plan and prepare well on defense.

Ashland has beat Dover and lost a close battle to Marion Franklin (2nd in Region 7)....two very good teams. We may be the 3rd or 4th best team they play this year.

I dont think it's splitting the atom to say that Orrville's offense isnt what it was last year. Not sure that claim has ever been made though.

But is Ashland's D as good as it was last year? I think that's a very fair question.

Through 6 games last year, they gave up an average of 11 pts a game......this year, a little over 21.

Orrville held Senior to zero points on offense, Senior scored 20 on Arrows....and Wooster got 37 on them for goodness sakes.

Say what you will, but that's not a typical Ashland D.
