Indeed.
Regardless, what a glorious day it has been, with 364 more days of gloating. In fact, it's 1825 days as of now. -
OQBI liked that quote from the paper today.....
"If you win you have bragging rights for 365 days, if you lose you work even harder to get the win next year. Obviously wooster has a lot of work to do."
Haha I was really surprised at all the "blowout" comments that were in the WOOSTER paper....usually they don't do that when Orrville beats wooster. -
CCRollyThat's because a lot of folks at the DR are starting to see the light with the whole McCreary situation. It's time to feed the monster...
-
OQBExactly!

Here is the original question. A simple question that I think some took as a slam, just a simple question like why is it a foul pole when if a ball hits it , it is fair, so why not fair pole in baseball? -
OQBJust a simple question....check your inbox.

sports time ohioWhy do you always have to bring up the Qb stats especially
when their bad that is like bringing up missed tackles by your LB, leave it alone you win as a team you loose as team simple as that. -
RedRider1Painful read over the last couple of pages......
Amazing what a win does for how everything is viewed. I had no idea Kyle was 3-14...or whatever it was....and i was keeping stats.
We didn't....and DON'T need him to be great to win games. We need him to be effective....and he was. 1 of his 3 completions went for a TD, and another was a 30 yd pass to Stew to setup an easy Tre TD.
Kyle was effective...that's all he needs to be. Manage the game, dont make poor decisions, and make the occasional throw or run.
Our playoff run will be determined with our run game and our defense. -
riders1Agreed RR1, as long as the passes are not intercepted he is effective and our offense has a chance to do something.

5knotsIn Wooster today around lunch time....happened to run into Muddy Waters to get upstairs to the Sports store.....they were having a little political meet and greet and I look in the group and see this gentleman with a Red Rider jersey on......#25 even! Here it was the Wooster Mayor keeping up his end of a bet he lost with Mayor Handwerk. Good job Mayor!
-
OQBKyle just needs to be efficient and effective in the passing game....he doesn't have to put up 250 yards and 3 td's for us to win games....although that would be nice lol..maybe we will see that next year.

BRFDid you know?.........
That #3's touchdown last night was the first game in his career as a high school player that he only scored 1 TD? In a conversation with the young man this past week, I told him that I had noticed that he only had multiple TD games games this year. He said that since he began playing for Orrville, he has never scored only 1 touchdown in a game. It was either none or multiple. Check it out. I've got him this year at 3 games with zero (including the one he sat out), one with 4 (highlight that will stay with him and ALL of us forever), 3 games with 3 TD's, and one game with 2. Maybe I'm wrong on that count, but the fact remains that last night was the first time ever that he scored 1 TD in a game. Just thought I'd share.
Also, I believe that he is at around 1080 yards for the whole season now. -
OQBHe is definitely a great weapon to have..I just wish he would run like he did against wooster every night...but he does have no problem finding the endzone that's for sure!
I think he and mason have to get the ground game going and sustain some long drives this week, keeping their offense off the field....if we can get over 200 yards rushing, we have a good shot at winning this week. -
BRFNext up in my "blog" is BRF's visit to the Buckeye Book Fair over at the OARDC in which he got to rub elbows with authors that he knows personally.
First up is Dan Coughlin. Long time Cleveland sportscaster and of late, Fox 8 news. He says he actually remembers meeting BRF back in 2003 at our stadium when he was flown in by the chopper for the 100th anniversary (CENTENNIAL!) of the Orrville/Wooster football game. Hmmm.....good memory! Well, BRF will believe him, since I bought his book with a very personal message and autograph!, "Crazy, With The Papers To Prove It". It's about, according to him, "the most unusual, eccentric and outlandish people I've know in four decades".
Anyhow, I told him about how Fox 8 was supposed to stop by last night, but it didn't happen (which I'm glad it didn't happen due to the possibility of "deer in the headlight" looks from some of our players and we didn't need that!) He told me that when he stopped by Orrville in 2003, they had a "Cadillac" chopper with a four man reporting crew, besides the helicopter operators. Today, they have a cheap little thing and can only take one reporter. He said that back in his time they would fly through whatever crap weather there was to get to the games. Then he railed on about how chicken the copter operators are now.
Before THAT conversation, he was railing to an old lady about LeBron. Man he put the slams on him. He then told me that LeBron was "THE MOST PAMPERED PLAYER IN THE HISTORY OF PROFESSIONAL SPORTS!" The old lady left and BRF said, "I don't want to talk about LeBron!". That made him happy and we launched in to other "stuff".
He is a very animated man, stood up to make his points, just a great entertainer and made BRF feel good about Cleveland sports and how we feel.
Next up: BRF's conversation with Terry Pluto
(RR1: you would have loved this stuff!!!!!) -
BRFTerry Pluto: nationally famous author, BRF has all his books, most recent published is "Things I've Learned From Watching the Browns".
Terry remembers meeting and talking with BRF at Orrville High School when he came in to interview Tim Hiller his senior year. We had a little chit-chat in a side room in the Community Room (study hall).
So........the conversation today got to our boy, Tim. He wanted to know what was up with him lately and I filled him in (which is that Tim is about at the end of the rope on the NFL business and has maybe one more shot. If he wants to continue, he will have to go the summer Combine camp. On good source, he may not be willing to do that because the pay is low and he has to stay in a hotel for some time and he is newly married and all that). Terry says, basically, getting into the NFL is a crap shoot when you get to that level where you COULD go on........you just have to be at the right time and in the right place. He says that Tim is smart and should take his degree and go into the business world. Maybe you have to be kind of a dummy to make it in the NFL?.....cough...cough....Steeler QB? Great talking to Terry Pluto.
Anyhow, BRF left the cat out of the bag on what is up with our boy, Tim. It's looking like the end of the road on the football career. BUT.............there's still a chance! -
BRFIn case anyone wanted to know, many years ago, on a the happening site known as the Daily Record sports commentary, we had a good thing going back then. People like 1_beast (by another name) and Wildy83.......(Pitman will verify). But that is where the moniker BRF was born. There was this Wooster guy that didn't like what I posted and called me "nothing more than a Boring Rider Fan". (I have since become friends with him, as I do so many times with others that attack me...........I have this knack for working it out.......for example.....of recent note.....SinisterMinister) So, I said, "yes, I like it".......I will now be known as BRF.
And that's the story.
Go Riders! -
RedRider1Great stuff BRF....what a great day.
-
SinisterMinisterBoring Rider Fan, you are anything but boring! In my mind you are still Bully Rider Fan but you're okay in my book. I want the Riders to keep on winning and representing the OCC but selfishly I want you boys to keep winning so I can keep enjoying the fun on here. Go Riders!
