Drennen is of the opinion that if he plays tonight, he won't be dealt at all.KR1245 wrote: If Amare plays tonight it sounds like this thing wont happen until Thursday -
KR1245Would you be willing to take in J Richardson's contract if it got this deal done?
-
wes_mantoothYep.
I think then you have to sign and trade Wally to make it work...correct? -
devil1197
Hell yeah.KR1245 wrote: Would you be willing to take in J Richardson's contract if it got this deal done?
Gilbert will pay whatever he can for a championship. He doesn't care at all because he knows that bringing a winner to Cleveland will help put money in his pockets.
Plus, if Richardson sucks you bench him and then you have a nice expiring next season.
But there is absolutely no "new" news at all today. -

Yeah, I think if Cleveland truly wants this Amar'e deal and Miami comes with a better offer Cleveland will counter with JRich.wes_mantooth wrote: Yep.

Sarver needs cap relief and that is what Cleveland can offer the most of plus JJ, Green, 1st.
Not sure how bad Cleveland really wants to invest though. I get the impression that they will pressure PHO to make a move tonight or early tomorrow, if not they will move on. Miami seems like the only other team in the race and they are truly desparate and Cleveland isn't. -
KR1245Doesnt sound like anybody knows what Amares status is for the game tonight

It's more about keeping LeBron than winning a title for Gilbert. LeBron has to win the title--Gilbert just has to pay for the pieces to keep him there. Winning a title or not, he can't afford to lose LeBron.devil1197 wrote:

KR1245Agreed. If you have to take on J Richardson and his contract to get this deal doen then you do it.

Miami would love Amare, but the Suns want back talent, not just cap relief. The Heat have no one on offer that tempts the Suns. The Suns would entertain Beasley talks, but the Heat wouldn't pull the trigger on that.devil1197 wrote:

jpake1Miami isn't desperate to make a trade. They know there is nothing that can help them win a championship this year. Pat has said all along that if he can speed up the process for the 2010 FA season, he will. Hence the interest in Amare. But he won't give up more than he believes he needs to. Pat has been veerrryyy patient and just waiting for FA to begin. He'll wait it out and take his chance then before he'll sell out to get Amar'e. I actually kind of believe the guys when they say Beasley hasn't been offered (maybe talked about, but not really offered to a team for sure). If they really havn't offered, I think that shows they're not desperate. If they don't get Amare, that's perfectly okay with me. He's a great player, but Miami has bigger needs for next year. PG, C, and SF are big concerns. Amare has never been real happy playing the 5. It just sucks because I don't see any team changers at the C and PG positions for them.

Miami is the only other team in the race and if the Suns like Beasley it could be a deal for them. Especially if they are offering both their 1st rounders (14th/16th). But the Suns do not like Beasley for whatever reason.3reppom wrote:

Its unknown what Miami is offering but I think Riley could go into desparation mode imo.
But Sarver wants to save money and Cleveland can offer JJ who the Suns actually love, cap relief, picks and Green. -
jpake1Miami can do all of that as well. It simply comes down to the Suns appearing to like Hickson much more than Beasley. I havn't heard how Nash feels about all the rumors. I honestly can't see him being happy with JJ or Beasley for that matter.

2quik4uRiley really doesn't give a fuck and he will do anything to get amare
-
jpake1^ Explain?
-
SQ_CraziesRiley is not the guy that gets that desperate so I don't agree.
-
2quik4uBeasley richardson and 2 first rounds for amare, that is not giving a fuck, doing anything he can do to get amare
-
SQ_CraziesWhat if I told you that the Raptors offered Bosh for Jawad Williams and cash? Would you believe it? LOL
-
wes_mantoothI really don't think that Riley will get desperate, but if he really wants Amare, I believe he has the pieces to make it happen. I know that the Suns apparently prefer Hickson to Beasley, but those 2 mid first rounders are very tempting. Of course, maybe this is considered a weak draft year....I haven't paid much attention.

Trueblue23Marc Stein says the Cavs are talking Shaq for Mike Miller and Jamison

That would be a disaster...lolTrueblue23 wrote: Marc Stein says the Cavs are talking Shaq for Mike Miller and Jamison -
2quik4uEarly Monday, when writing about a possible Shaquille O'Neal-Amare Stoudemire reunion in Cleveland, ESPN's Chad Ford indicated it was possible that if the Cavs land Stoudemire, Shaq could get dealt for Antawn Jamison or Troy Murphy.
"Given that the Cavs have concerns about how well Stoudemire and Shaquille O'Neal would fit together, the team would consider moving Shaq if it acquired Amare," he wrote. "For instance, the Cavs could swap O'Neal and their first-round pick to Washington for Jamison and Mike Miller. They could send the same package to Indiana in a deal for Murphy and Mike Dunleavy."
But as those rumblings grew louder on D.C. radio today, ESPN's Marc Stein checked in with both the Cavs and Wizards on such a scenario, and he got back a rather big "no."
Brian Windhorst of the Cleveland Plain Dealer adds this via Twitter: "Anyone who thinks the Cavs are trading Shaq has absolutely no grasp of reality. Been awhile since a game, but remember Cavs are 43-11."
So until further notice, expect Shaq to remain with the Cavs for the rest of the season. -
