Official NBA Trade Deadline *Moves and Rumors*

Early Monday, when writing about a possible Shaquille O'Neal-Amare Stoudemire reunion in Cleveland, ESPN's Chad Ford indicated it was possible that if the Cavs land Stoudemire, Shaq could get dealt for Antawn Jamison or Troy Murphy.

"Given that the Cavs have concerns about how well Stoudemire and Shaquille O'Neal would fit together, the team would consider moving Shaq if it acquired Amare," he wrote. "For instance, the Cavs could swap O'Neal and their first-round pick to Washington for Jamison and Mike Miller. They could send the same package to Indiana in a deal for Murphy and Mike Dunleavy."

But as those rumblings grew louder on D.C. radio today, ESPN's Marc Stein checked in with both the Cavs and Wizards on such a scenario, and he got back a rather big "no."

Brian Windhorst of the Cleveland Plain Dealer adds this via Twitter: "Anyone who thinks the Cavs are trading Shaq has absolutely no grasp of reality. Been awhile since a game, but remember Cavs are 43-11."

So until further notice, expect Shaq to remain with the Cavs for the rest of the season.
Exactly. This shit is getting retarded. Pointless conversation, hope, whatever else. I hate the trade deadline. It isn't exciting, it's more annoying because everyone wants to break the story--so if Brandon Roy farts in the direction of Orlando there is probably a deal being discussed to send him there.

I would trade my child for Ashley Collins.

This will actually be a very good draft IMO.

Maybe Pat doesn't see a big difference between Beasley and Amare by the time next year rolls around. I used to want the Heat to get Amare with Beasley being the main piece, but that simply came from wanting to get Wade on board for the next handful of years. Right now, I'm against the trade. I really do believe in Beasley. I'd rather the Heat use their approximate 19M next year on a position of need; someone like Gay. It doesn't make a lot of sense to pay ANOTHER PF 17M next year that doesn't like to play the 5. They would be a pretty good team, but I still don't think they'd be a top 4 team. I think Beasley will close the gap even more in terms of numbers with Amare, but he'll have a lot better contract.

the pistons tried to trade prince for kaman lol

Prince is a guy that went downhill very quickly. I remember when he was that type of guy that "doesn't get the respect and attention he deserves" all while people were actually giving him a lot of attention by saying that all the time. Not sure if that makes sense. It did in my head ha.

Beasley will be better than Amare when it's all said and done IMO.

I think it was more like people said he didn't get the respect or attention he deserved, then when people started paying attention and realizing how big a part he was of those Detroit teams, he started playing like shit.

He was never really that great, in fact I think he was overrated because the jawing about how being underrated got LOUD at one point and they were overhyping him. He was never THAT great, but always a pretty solid ball player.

Windhorst says the cavs have absolutely no intentions of trading shaq and anyone who thinks otherwise is very wrong!! You guys need to use Twitter, it's a great way of hearing things from ppl who actually know what they are talking about.

They only way Shaq gets traded is if Gilbert has all the boys over to his crib, they smoke a pound of that ohhhweeeee, all get the muchies, and Gilbert comes up with the briliant plan of trading Shaq to White Castle for 20M tiny burgers, and he then can become the face of White Castle.

Prince is a very good role player, like a 3rd or 4th option guy.

I'm so glad he isn't part of Miami anymore. He was a curse.. that brought Beasley. So maybe a kudos is in order for the journey man.
  • SQ_Crazies
    lmao

Or if they get an offer for Dwight Howard lol.

On a pretty shitty team. Remember the days that he was arguably the 2nd option on a championship team? Things change.

Miami failed to get Charlotte as a 3rd team for Amar'e per Wojo.

They need to add someone worse than any of the championship caliber teams.

Edit: Actually Orlando does....they need to undo what they did in the off season.

i just want the lakers to get hinrich and if they can drop those two bums sasha and morrison that would be awesome

I still can't believe people were claiming Orlando had one of the best offseasons and actually upgraded.

Lost in the rubble of all the available trade scenarios is the future of Al Harrington and his expiring contract.

As we noted Sunday, Harrington has reportedly fallen out of favor with Mike D'Antoni, and there's talk Harrington could be swapped for either Tyrus Thomas in Chicago -- a deal that was rumored earlier this season -- or in a trade for Tracy McGrady.

The New York Post confirms. this today via a source: "It looks like it's either Chicago or Houston in the next 24 hours," the source told the paper.

The Post also reports that Chicago is Harrington's preferred destination.

Harrington might not be a game-changer, but he is pumping in 17.8 points and 5.6 rebounds a game for the Knicks, and sports a respectable PER of 17.28, which beats out Thomas' 16.42.

If the Bulls make such a swap, they'll certainly be getting a comparable talent to what they're shipping out.

Bucher really, Jamison the Cavs top priority?

Come on man, please check your shit.
  • KR1245
I'm starting to lose respect for all of ESPN's bball analyst's. First Stein reports that the Cavs might trade Shaq and now Bucher saying AJ is the Cavs number 1 target. Do these guys do anytghing other then spread rumors?
