Official NBA Trade Deadline *Moves and Rumors*

  • hoops23
I was going to post it as well...

I like the trade for both teams. BUT, I do think Portland will miss Steve Blake. They do get some good defensive post help though, which was needed..

LA gets rid of his contract and gets a young wing player and a solid back up PG..

I think Tuesday is going to have a few more trades before the day is over.

Blake was solid, but Bayless will have to step up. They drafted him high, no its time to play high. Not literally.. unless offered fo frreee.
  • hoops23
    haha...

Bayless has had some good games this season, but has also followed those up with some duds. He has talent no doubt.

    This

It's useless as well. Other teams know exactly that this is. Cavs are just doing their due diligence.

The Cavs have to make a move more for next year than this year.

Given their cap situation, this is the last time they will be able to appreciably improve the roster as there are no more massive expiring contracts to trade off and they won't have the cap room to sign a decent free agent considering the cap is going to shrink.

If they don't make a move, and don't win a title, they will have no way to improve the roster as they will be capped out with no real assets to trade. That is not an enticing picture if you are Lebron thinking about staying.

You figured it out and you don't think the other GM's involved haven't either????LOL

    Ferry has played this perfectly.

He has Amar'e, Jamison, Murphy, and then Maggette lined up for practically nothing.

Conflicting reports have the Suns wanting to get this done before their game with MEM tonight, and another report has them waiting it out to get the best offer. I think they are going to want to ship Amar'e out tonight.

If that is the truth, then Miami is hurting for time. Its not the easiest thing to go out and find a 3rd team.

Maybe ESPN is finally realizing the true news.

J.A. Adande says that if the Suns move Amar'e it will only be to Cleveland. I cannot imagine them keeping Amar'e after 3 years of putting him on the trading block. He isn't happy about that and I bet he opts out of his contract. Might as well get something for him but I could see them holding on to Amar'e just for the hell of it.

Things have been super quiet on both fronts, all the information now is probably just opinion or already established. I still say its 50% Amar'e stays in PHO and 50% Cleveland.

I think Miami is out of the race. The Suns don't like anybody on the Heat's roster; concerns about Beasley's character. Too hard to involve a 3rd team and get everybody the pieces they want. Kerr is about to hand Cleveland a trophy. I imagine all of the Suns fans will hate him, along with most other GM's.

Haha, not sure everyone will hate Kerr maybe Sarver for being a penny pincher right now.

The reports today are hilarious especially when no one from CLE/PHO is talking.

FoxSportsRadio says Ferry has pulled the deal since PHO took too long, but its only 1 pm here?

Reports that the Knicks are getting involved with Miami to screw Cleveland out of getting Amar'e lol.

I just cannot wait until Thursday or whenever we get real news. Anyone who is credible has been extremely quiet.

They usually are. For example, Stein. He usually only talks about stuff that actually has legs and a heartbeat. The other ESPN guys are worse than the gossip girls I knew in HS. Ferry could screw around and tell some poor source they're trying to shit out Mo and on the down low.. he has crabs. Some ESPN fool would be telling the world Mo will be shipped out soon and that he's got some itchies down low.

There have been a couple people pretty spot on so far with the PHO/CLE trade.

W&G and Max from RCF, Windy from PD, and a Suns Insider. None of these guys have posted and released anything in hours which is unusal.

Chad Ford chat has just started. Might have some new info that's useful or not.
  • Trueblue23
Any new word on the Lakers/Bulls/Timberwolves deal?

We'll see, he is another guy I really don't trust completely.

Cleveland just sent Jackson back to the Bayhawks.

    Hmmm...
  • devil1197
Also, Windy doesn't even have new "news" on the Amar'e situation.

    Shit is quiet.

I am sending Ford ridiculous question he cannot answer.
  • devil1197
Chris B's chat is at 2 and he'll actually answer our questions.
  • jpake1
I ask Ford the same question everytime..... spit or swallow? He hasn't answered yet, and I don't know why ha.

What is the latest word fellas? I have been out of touch from tv and radio for a while. Last thing I heard was that if the Suns deal falls through, there is a deal in place for Maggette?

I don't believe for one minute that Ferry pulls a deal for Maggette. It just doesn't make sense. I'd much rather stand pat then get Corey in here..

With that said, it's just a smoke screen. It's Amar'e or bust I think. We may sneak a deal in for Jamison if Ferry feels Phoenix is taking too long, but I doubt Kerr would put Ferry in that situation w/o a heads up..

God, please bring in Corey Maggette!!!!!!
