ALDS- New York Yankees vs Cleveland Indians series thread

Guys, we could have Dusty, who despite knowing the chances of postponement today were very high let Strasburg through a BP session so he can't go in game 4 tomorrow...which would be regular rest. Christ that guy is awful.

I don't care if EE = Weekend at Bernie's as long as he's in the lineup. Any production has got to be better production than what Brantley's given them.

Was going for post season legendary moment

    I like this.

And then tape the fuck up on EE.

    Go Tribe.

Yeah, I know. My point was that, if a player can fog a mirror, they'd give the Tribe better production than Brantley at this point.

No faith in this team winning tonight. I have seen this script before.

Yeah, I'm hoping for Kluber to be lights out but skeptical it will happen. Even if he is, I can see the offense taking a shit and Klubot losing 1-0 on a solo HR or something.

12 more hours....I feel a classic coming on for tonight.

    Santana seals it late

So have I. 1997. The Central Division Champion Cleveland Indians hosting the Wild Card New York Yankees in Cleveland for game 5. The Yankees pitched a lefty (Andy Petetite) vs a hard throwing right hander for the Tribe (Jared Wright). Father TBone took 10 year old TBone14 to the game. School night. No big deal. Tribe jumped on Petetite in the 3rd for 3 runs. Couple huge 2 out knocks from Manny Ramirez (decent hitter) and Matt Williams. Added another in the 4th and it was hold on time from there. Yankees pulled to within 4-3 after 6 and stranded many runners later. Paul O'Neill hit a two out double in the 9th to bring the go ahead hitter to the plate in the person of Bernie Williams but Mesa got the flyout and the Tribe were on to the ALCS.

Great game. Wasn't it against Doc? Don't see it happening for us tonight though.

This is the best pitching we could ask for, I'm just not very confident. Hope I'm wrong and we have an offensive explosion and Kluber looks like Kluber.

No. Game 5 was Pettitte against Wright. You are thinking of Game 4...where the Bulldog Orel Hershiser battled Doc Gooden in another great game. Tribe were down 2-1 heading to game 4 and won both at home. The series then were 2-3 with the team with home field advantage getting the final 3 at home.

I'm not nervous...just anxious to get on with it. We have our ace on the mound. If he isn't good tonight then he isn't good tonight but we are going down with our biggest gun...which is all you can ask for.

Momentum...especially in baseball...is overstated. Overstated, as in, it doesn't really exist game to game. If momentum was a thing...the Indians would have had it all after that game 2 comeback and the Yankees wouldn't have been able to recover and it would have been a sweep. So with a day off, EE coming back, Kluber on the hill and Tito keeping them loose in the clubhouse...I would expect to see a more confident looking team tonight. As I stated on Monday, an early run for us would feel like it is worth more than a run. Just to get something going early would be huge.

Your words, TBone, are just what the doctor ordered. Thank you.

Total BS. Ohio Chatter superstition, jinx, reverse jinx, and hand wringing will determine the winner here.

    Indians in 5 easy

I'm starting to get more confident. Kluber on the hill, at home, but mostly...WE ARE THE BETTER TEAM! I've been confident in this squad and season (maybe too confident) since we signed Edwin. Never once though the division was in doubt. Never once worried about anyone on the team (except Brantley health and Kip health at end of year). We have the best lineup in the AL, our CYA winner going tonight with an insane bullpen to back him up.

    Lets fucking go!!

weather not looking too good right now--they're saying the system is swirling overhead and not moving on like originally predicted...there's no way I can wait another day for this game-lol!!!

With the ALCS starting on Friday...they will do whatever it takes to play this game today. Hourly still shows it clearing up by 5 or 6 but that might not reflect your new data.
