Week 2 - Browns @ Ratbirds

No, I don't. I am not a dumbass like you and understand there are many more variables to winning a football game than being better or more talented. Based on your idiotic logic, you think the Browns are better than 11 teams.kizer permanente;1871422 wrote:We lost by 3 the the best team on our schedule. Do you need me to break that down for you too? -

No based on my logic, there's 11 teams who were good enough to beat. Based on actual results, The best team we played needed a blocked punt for a td to beat us.like_that;1871423 wrote:No, I don't. In other words the browns are better than 11 teams, because the better teams win with more talent.kizer permanente;1871424 wrote:No based on my logic, there's 11 teams who were good enough to beat. Based on actual results, The best team we played needed a blocked punt for a td to beat us.
Again, you're the one calling BR out for playing semantics? LOL. -

No in exact words our talent is on par with theirs or better. I didn't say the better teams always win. I'm just not on the side of make believe nonsense like "learning how to win". That's your side. You own it.like_that;1871425 wrote:In other words the browns are better than 11 teams, because the better teams win with more talent.

Crimson streakJesus Christ I think I'm retarded now after reading all that. You are all basically arguing the same damn point. Yes you need more talent to win and close out games better. And closing out games is also a mindset/confidence thing as well. If you are constantly blowing games, when it gets to that situation again as a player you might have some doubts you can get that stop or score that go ahead TD. But all it takes is for that guy or multiple players with better talent to make that play that closes out a game to change that mentality. So in reality you guys are both right and basically arguing over nothing smh

I acknowledged his point that having talent and being better helps. He can't admit other variables play into it.Crimson streak;1871427 wrote:Jesus Christ I think I'm retarded now after reading all that. You are all basically arguing the same damn point. I fully accept and understand there's variables in winning. I don't subscribe to the notion that you learn how to close out games to win. I subscribe to the notion that you get better players. Did the Colts magically learn how to close out games after going 2-14 or did they draft Andrew Luck and make playoffs the next year ? Talent wins. Talent is what behind stupid saying like "the kid just knows how to win. He's just a winner." -
kizer permanenteSince I know I'll never change anyone's mind I'll bow it with this final thought.
The Browns don't lose because the don't know how to close out games. They lose because they haven't been good enough to close out games. As the add better players like they did this year , they'll start to close out those same games. And it's not from learning how. It's just by having better players who are able to. -

Commander of AwesomeFirst, Art Modell sucks.
Browns coming off a moral victory on Sunday against the hated rivals Pittsburgh Steelers. Unfortunately the road to real victory isn't any easier as the Raven have a very tough defense. I would love to see the Browns continue to hammer the rock, but I wouldn't expect a major uptick in performance as the ravens run d is nasty <
Even though I'm not expecting major production in the run game, it will be critical of Hue to continue to call run plays to keep the offense on schedule and the defense honest. As for Kizer, I better see his mental clock speed up, he was sacked by Pittspuke 7 times last week, and the fastest sack was almost 4 seconds. That's way too long to hold on to the ball in the NFL, even against the wet-paper bag defense of the Colts. He has to do better. I'd expect to another solid game from Corey Colemen, and the TEs this game. Ravens CBs are decent, but not world beaters by any means.
Will be interesting to see if Hue sits Britt after a just brutal drop last week, I'd like to see Coats and Williams get some more burn this week. I'd expect the Joker and DeValve to have very nice games, solid sleeper TE picks in deeper leagues.
As for defense, I anticipate them to see out to stop the run. Ravens skill position players brings teh lulz and Flacco is a bum with a bum back. Ravens recipe for success isn't difficult to decipher, it's keep the ball out of Flacco's hands as much as possible, and try to run the ball with T West. I know T west from his Cleveland days, he's a fumble waiting to happen. Get under his thin skin and watch the mental mistakes pile up.
Browns 24 Ravens 13
Just checked, Art Modell still sucks. -

I thought rapist's suspension was reduced to 4 games that year? Also, have to emphasize that Bell was driving when he got caught. Regardless Goodell is a piece of shit.Commander of Awesome;1871466 wrote:Josh Brown - yrs of domestic abuse, 6 games

Yeah it was down to 4. Speaking of Rapistberger... what's the odds literally anyone else doesn't get suspended for trying to twist someone's ankle. I had mentioned on one of these threads (think it was the main Browns thread) that a poster on the OBR claimed to have run into him and that Gordon expected to be reinstated before the Indianapolis game and hoped to play in it....assuming they don't release him.Crimson streak;1871458 wrote:Rumor going around saying josh Gordon could be reinstated tomorrow... Ironman92I think if Browns can keep Flacco from completing multiple deep balls on them AND play the turnover battle at even....they might be able to gain a road win.
Kizer showed some promise and I liked his toughness/composure. The Ravens will be tougher to run on than the Steelers. This could be a low scoring SOB.
That being said it'll probably be a 34-21 game -

I agree. But that was a really good article and Gordon needs someone like Montgomery in his corner. Hopefully he can turn his life around and get him on the right pathCommander of Awesome;1871516 wrote:https://articles.cleveland.com/browns/index.ssf/2017/09/tim_montgomery_says_josh_gordo.amp

Would Kraft even care now, after Deflategate, where Goodell was so determined to get his way, he even ignored the laws of science to do so?kizer permanente;1871468 wrote:lol yeah. Do you think anyone would give 1 fuck if he choked on his dinner tonight and died? Well outside of Bob Kraft. -

They still seemed pretty chummy last thursday. Actually I'd imagine all the owners love Goodell. He's pretty good at making them money while keeping the options open to not pay the athletes.Heretic;1871557 wrote:Would Kraft even care now, after Deflategate, where Goodell was so determined to get his way, he even ignored the laws of science to do so? -
