Who Are the Steelers Playing This Weekend???

I do. In the Steubenville area (30 minutes outside of Pittsburgh). I stand by my statement.DaBrowns41 wrote:
You must not live in Ohio.killer_ewok wrote:
Maybe the fickle people you know. All of the Steeler fans that I know have been fans for as long as I've known them.....through shitty times and through great times. I think it's more like 85% die-hard, 15% bandwagon.DaBrowns41 wrote:

Besides, I know that 85% of you Steeler fans didn't show up until 2005. -
DaBrowns41Interesting. In Columbus, Cincinnati, and Cleveland, the amount of Pittsburgh "fans" has increased exponentially since 2005. Most of them couldn't even tell you how many times they beat Cleveland in 2002 or list one of the QB's they had after Kordell Stewart, but before Big Ben.

Al CaponeI live in Ohio also and proud to say that 80% of the pro football fans I know are Steeler fans.

Cardinal Mooney. haha. They have more paid players than the Steelers.LOL.Strapping Young Lad wrote:

I know that the Holmes "catch" wasn't really a catch, but if your team actually played some defense in the Super Bowl, maybe you'd have won the game and wouldn't have to dwell on one call.
Talk to me in the Divisional Playoffs and we'll see who Arizona is playing. -

Well, most of the folks that I know have been fans since the days of Mark Malone. And as you know.....there was A LOT of heartache during some down years and a few AFC Championship game losses (at home to boot). Neil O'Donnell's two INT's right to Larry Brown in Super Bowl XXX. The "bad" Kordell years. Tommy Maddox had some decent games but some bad performances as well. Busts like Tim Worley and Huey Richardson. Win or lose, succeed or suck.....most of the Steeler fans I know are die-hard. I don't doubt that there are some bandwagon Steeler fans out there though. I just don't know many of them.DaBrowns41 wrote: Interesting. In Columbus, Cincinnati, and Cleveland, the amount of Pittsburgh "fans" has increased exponentially since 2005. That's my boat, too. I started following them in 1984, when they were the only team to beat the 49ers during their 15-1 Super Bowl season...but got slaughtered by the Dolphins in the AFC Championship to prevent a rematch. Were only 9-7 and needed a Bengal loss in the final week to clinch the division, so that 49er win probably was a fluke.
That was Mark "Tom Selleck" Malone. Then came Bubby and his mom in the stands. I loved Bubby in Tecmo Super Bowl. Every pass he threw was a bullet....and you never knew where they'd land. They had no good offensive players in that game, but their returners (along with NO's) were programmed to be far better than anyone else's and their defense was amazing. It was easy to completely shut down opponents until the point in the season where they regularly got into "god-mode" where nothing shuts them down. -

I'm a bandwagon fan so that comment doesn't bother me. As for who my pro team is: whoever Pittsburgh is playing that week. So.....NO ONE!!!!!Al Capone wrote:

Brister's mother had those crazy ass long finger nails. They were Lee press-on's or some artificial shit like that. They couldn't be real, could they?Heretic wrote: ^^

You know as well as everyone else does..the only thing that matters is who won the LAST game..which of course..Cleveland did..so yes..Browns fans can talk shit.rock_knutne wrote: The Browns win ONE game in how long against the Steelers and all of sudden you think you can talk shit? In that case, we get to talk all kinds of shit to Strapping Young Lad since the Steelers won the most recent head-to-head matchup vs. the Minnesota Vikings.GoChiefs wrote:

Talk about these:
Oh, that's right, Cleveland fans couldn't hold a conversation about Super Bowl rings, it's not their area of expertise! -
killer_ewokRock-The Browns beat the Steelers for the first time in SIX years. Let 'em live it up. If recent history repeats itself, we won't have to go through this shit again until 2015.

Wow, that is so sweet. Gosh do we suck for pro sports in Ohio.rock_knutne wrote:GoChiefs wrote:You know as well as everyone else does..the only thing that matters is who won the LAST game..which of course..Cleveland did..so yes..Browns fans can talk shit.

Well..I guess you can spend your weekend reminiscing about those days can't you? That will give you SOMETHING to do I guess..since you're not playing football and all. If you need any help on things to do during the first round..just ask. I've got plenty of experience.rock_knutne wrote: Talk about these:

How many rings do YOU own? Yeah..I'm gonna guess zero as well. So..just like a Cleveland fan...you're not much of an expert on Super Bowl rings either. :rolleyes:rock_knutne wrote: Oh, that's right, Cleveland fans couldn't hold a conversation about Super Bowl rings, it's not their area of expertise! -

LMAO.......I "own" as many Super Bowl rings as the Cleveland Clowns do, zero! BTW, I am an exceptional expert in that area, my team wins them routinely unlike yours........thanks for playing!GoChiefs wrote:How many rings do YOU own? Yeah..I'm gonna guess zero as well. Playing? I didn't play anything. You know..just like your Steelers this weekend. And the Clowns? Wow..you got jokes too! Mind you..over used..unoriginal jokes..but jokes nonetheless.rock_knutne wrote: LMAO.......I "own" as many Super Bowl rings as the Cleveland Clowns do, zero! FootwedgeNo soup for Steeler fans this year. The officials can only do so much in reserving a playoff spot for them.
-
FootwedgeThe Browns franchise have 8 rings in their history...2 more that Pittsburgh.
-
Heretic
Only half of those rings are NFL championships, though. The rest are from an inferior organization (possessing eight teams for three years and seven for one) from which only two (or maybe three) teams was actually allowed into the NFL.Footwedge wrote: The Browns franchise have 8 rings in their history...2 more that Pittsburgh.
Championships, yes. But to count them as equal to NFL championships in a "which team has more" argument would be like me claiming Doug Flutie is one of the greatest NFL quarterbacks of all time...while using his Canadian numbers to back me up. -
CitybuckIt is nice having the Steelers at home during the playoffs, rare but nice.
