Who have you been disappointed with in terms of early rd (1st and 2nd) draft picks? If being a mixed bag means drafting late every year, sign me up.

Not a Steeler fan but the name Limas Sweed jumps out at me.

I disagree--I think they're going to manipulate their stockpiled picks for either Garoppolo or Cousins.

I don't know that I'd call it "disappointed", but more of an "okay" than a "FUCK YEAH!". In recent years (ie: after Sweed, who I thought would be THE shit and just was shit), I'd say the main problem is that a lot of their best picks haven't been overly reliable due to injuries (Shazier, Heyward) or ganga (Bell) and other guys haven't really been much more than decent at best. To where my issue is more that they just aren't getting those gems who are game-changers, but just guys who are okay, but not great. They have done, outside of a couple guys like Mike Adams, good at the OL in recent years, which was my biggest issue from 6-7 years ago, but I think a lot of their defensive picks have been lacking in general. On the other hand, when your offense is based around quick strikes, I think it's hard for any defense to consistently look good because you're scoring quickly or giving it back quickly a lot more often than you're having time-consuming drives, so that might have as much to do with things as anything else.

Even I'm starting to think this is a pipedream.

Don't forget decastro, he has been a beast. Just think about all the other teams and then think about the steelers picks. They are easily doing better than 90% of the league at drafting.

You do know that Schefter's "source" (regarding Garoppolo) is MKC, correct?

Actually, I am pretty sure MKC called the Pats on behalf of the Browns.

It doesn't matter to me who the source is. They've been saying no for months.

If the Browns truly wanted a QB right now, they probably should have drafted Watson at 12. I'm fine with getting the extra 1st rounder from Houston, but they better be prepared to start Osweiler or Kessler at this point.

I mean, if they end up drafting Davis Webb tonight, I'm probably gonna be annoyed.

It kind of does matter who the source is because I think Schefter was saying Trubisky would be the #1 pick per his "sources" (MKC).

I'm not looking for an argument but taking Watson at 12 would be "taking a QB just to take a QB", imo. He's the last of these top QB's I'd want. A few glowing metrics (velocity/weak arm) say he's likely not going to be all that good.

As she was peeking in Garoppolo's window.

She was also saying the pick would be Garrett yesterday afternoon, but it doesn't really matter.

I'm definitely not arguing. Just my opinion. To be honest, I wasn't all that high on any of the QBs in this draft either, but I do think Watson will be better than a lot of people think, and quite possibly better than Trubisky or Mahomes.

Don't get me wrong, I think the Jimmy G ship has long sailed off, but MKC is a joke regardless.

I'm pretty sure I mentioned this a while back but a few years ago I'm pretty sure one of her son's high school buddies posted a joke on Twitter and she ran with it as a breaking news/scoop. Her & Grossi should start their own "Hacks-R-Us" news outlet.

Haha. Definitely don't disagree with that.

I was basically just saying that after weeks and weeks of asking, I don't think the Pats are gonna change their mind. I think the Browns probably made one last ditch effort to put together an offer and the Pats said no thanks again.

As for the qb. If we can't trade for jimmy or cousins I'm ok with riding with Kessler. I thought he played decent last year and I'm willing to give him a shot to see if he has improved his down field throws and such.

Listening the the presser with the first round picks, it's hard not to love miles Garrett. The kid is just ready to get to work and seems like such a great character guy that can be the face of the franchise.
