BR1986FBCan Thursday get here already? So much bullshit floating around. I will lose my shit if these guys take Trubisky at #1.

Azubuike24Not taking Garrett at 1 AND taking someone else at 1 might be one of the biggest draft blunders ever. If you're sold on not wanting Garrett, at least leverage his hype and value for something more.

On the veteran QB market: If the #Bengals are going to trade AJ McCarron it will require a 1st round pick -- at least. Pretty unlikely. -

Azubuike24Which basically means they aren't serious about trading him. I wouldn't say it's funny.

Then the report would read "bengals not interested in trading AJ."Azubuike24;1849694 wrote:Which basically means they aren't serious about trading him. I wouldn't say it's funny.
Yes, it is funny to think anybody would think they could get a 1st round pick for him. -
Azubuike24
No it wouldn't, because that wouldn't really be a headline. Wanting too much for him is their way of saying they would prefer to not trade him. Sounds like the same reason Jimmy G. doesn't get dealt if the Pats really want multiple first rounders.like_that;1849700 wrote:Then the report would read "bengals not interested in trading AJ." -

There have been plenty if "pats are not interested/will not trade jimmy g" headlines.Azubuike24;1849701 wrote:No it wouldn't, because that wouldn't really be a headline. Plain and simple the 1st round headline for AJ is a pipe dream at best and it is hilarious they would even try to put those feelers out there. -

Maybe Brown thought "the Raiders were dumb enough to pony up for Carson Palmer....maybe we'll find another idiot?"like_that;1849704 wrote:There have been plenty if "pats are not interested/will not trade jimmy g" headlines.

I agree with this. Everybody's got a price, they're just saying the price is at least a first rounder, not that they expect anyone to actually pay it. The Bengals have plenty of legit reasons to make fun of them, this is just a smart business move.Azubuike24;1849701 wrote:No it wouldn't, because that wouldn't really be a headline. Think of it like when someone asks what it would take to get one of your favorite fantasy football players (I know this is a stretch but if you play fantasy football you'll know what I mean). You might throw back a ludicrous offer because you don't really want to give them up, but if you do you're going to be well overcompensated for it. Same as someone asking the Bengals the price for McCarron and the Bengals asking for at least a first round pick.
Here's where Marvin even jokes about it taking the first overall pick to get AJ: http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2017/03/30/marvin-lewis-bengals-havent-talked-about-trading-aj-mccarron/ -

Garrett is gonna be the #1 pick. 99% chance it's to the Browns. If it's not, some dumbass GM gave Cleveland multiple first rounders to move up to get him. Which is also a win for Cleveland.
The browns are just putting out smoke screens in case a gm is contemplating that trade. -

I would take 3 1sts and 3 2nds to move from the #1 overall pick. Otherwise, Garrett.SportsAndLady;1849721 wrote:This.

If someone wants to offer someone crazy, by all means.
It'd be stupid for Cleveland front office to come out and say garrett is their guy at 1 and that's final. -
BR1986FBNot that I think he's going to keep his shit straight but why do the Steelers know about Martavis Bryant getting reinstated for drugs before the draft and we're hearing crickets on Gordon? Typical Goodell...loves him some Steelers.

Azubuike24
Because the NFL suspension and reinstatement policy isn't necessarily the most transparent. Does anyone even know what "applies for reinstatement" means? You write a letter to Goodell telling him how great he is and how you want so badly to play in his league?BR1986FB;1849770 wrote:Not that I think he's going to keep his shit straight but why do the Steelers know about Martavis Bryant getting reinstated for drugs before the draft and we're hearing crickets on Gordon? BR1986FBI think Grossi is a bitter bitch but he's spot on with this comment...
7. The Bengals’ asking price of “a first-round pick – at least” for backup quarterback AJ McCarron, per Ian Rapoport of NFL Network, is laughable. McCarron is tied to the Bengals for two more seasons – unlike the one season New England has Jimmy Garoppolo under contract. But if McCarron is worth a first-round pick, Garoppolo is worth three. Don’t bore me with statistical comparisons, either. Just watch their games. As for dealing for Garopplo, much has been said and reported of Bill Belichick's unwillingness to trade him. A source with knowledge of the situation, however, told me the Browns "haven't been bold enough" in pursuing Garoppolo.

SportsAndLadyEveryone keeps talking about the Jets trading out of the 6th pick with Cleveland so that Cleveland can get Trubisky. I just don't see it. The jets qbs are awful. If they have the best available QB available to them, I think they take him.
Hoping the browns just take garrett and BPA at 12, call it a day.
