Not buying they'd be contenders. IMO only the Warriors and Spurs are title contenders in the West....I don't see that level, same with Kings.

People said the same last year; Cavs beat the best of the West with Lebron last year and almost the year before with a team that was 1000x worse than the current Suns.

2009-2010, Cavs were the 1 seed in the East with Lebron James at 61-21. The following year after he left? 19-63 good for the worst record in the East. Fast forward to the return in 2014-2015, NBA finals appearance.

Reverse is true for the Miami heat. They were a mediocre Eastern conference team; all LBJ, 4 NBA finals appearances. Year of return? 10th in the East, missed playoffs.
Good point. Appreciate the research. How was that 2009-2010 team 10 games better than this year's team with LeBron having one of his best seasons he's ever had and they have superstar top 8 player Kyrie and Kevin Love had a very good season going 20/10?

Can't give LeBron full credit for everything good and not assign him some credit on how they lost 31 games.

The LeBron of 2009/2010 isn't the same LeBron as today from an endurance standpoint. On the Suns, he would have to play 40+ MPG and do it for 82 games. LeBron hasn't played a full season since 2009. I would buy that 25-year old LeBron could, but not 32-year old LeBron.

With lebron they are definitely title contenders. Any team with lebron is a title contender if you put him on. Lebron is so damn good that he makes it so easy for other players to get good open shots. The guy took the cavs to the finals with Sasha, z, Eric fucking snow and boobie Gibson. I don't think it gets any worse than that

Injuries and Lebron getting more rest. Wins don't really matter; how did those teams do in the playoffs? Miami? 4 seasons, 4 NBA finals appearances. Cleveland? 2 seasons, 2 NBA finals appearances with a third on the way.

Also another good example of a team worse than the Suns today.

The Suns also pretty much tanked the last month and they have some young talent, so probably not the best example. A guy like LeBron might bring them forward faster than expected. The Kings after they dealt Cousins are pure trash. I'm confident in saying LeBron wouldn't make them contenders.

If Lebron went to Kentucky you'd be singing a different tune.

Those guys weren't starters were they? That team had Hughes, Z and Gooden as the main other players. Hughes scored 20 ppg average his two years preLebron, Gooden was a 13/8 guy before LeBron and Z was a 15/8 guy for a few years prior that season.

Boobie stepped in during the playoffs when Hughes went AWOL. Without Gibson going crazy Cavs may not beat Detroit.

Obviously that team without LeBron wasn't a good team but mentioning guys who are 9th and 10th in minutes don't tell the story completely either. Obviously LeBron makes every team better and considerably better at that. He's the #1 player in the universe but I'm still not buying him taking a bottom tier West team and taking them immediately to the Spurs/Warriors level playing in that much tougher conference.

I am closer to agreeing with you guys than it may seem but not buying it the way you guys are.

The starters were James, Pavlovic, Gooden, Z, and Hughes but Gooden/Hughes/Z played about the same or less than the reserves who were Varejao, Gibson, Marshall, and Damon Jones. This is arguable the worst team to ever make it to the NBA finals. Eric snow, in my opinion the worst player ever to play in the NBA Finals, average 10 mpg in the finals.

Reps for going through all of those players and not using the word "trash"

    Link?

I think he either goes there or one of the blue bloods. Akron would be the dark horse.

We have no idea he even becomes a top prospect. A lot can change in 6 years. He may get offers because of his name, but who knows.

Is he at ASVSM? I believe he's a 7th grader, so junior high?

Heard it on the radio this morning. Was laughing when he mentioned Pop and not getting "rooked."

I didn't see the game but the coach made good points. However, Spurs are 100x the team that Memphis is and it will be a sweep.
