I'm with Ironman, fuck that shit. I would be pissed to see my team lose like that.

Plus its not like his team is garbage and won ten games.

I get that winning a title is more important but to shrug his season off as meaningless shows a lack of knowledge of how difficult it is what he did.

I think the big thing to take away is that OKC IS a garbage team that stat guys think would win about 19 games without Westbroook. Instead, they have 46 and are in the playoffs. That in itself makes this season amazing. Regardless of whether he stuffed his stats to get triple-doubles or not, his season is the only reason anyone is talking about OKC in terms other than "God, they suck!".

I get it that people are sick of the triple double chase. I get it that there have been times where he seems to be TRYING to get a triple double. However, what's the record now? 33-9 when Westbrook gets a triple double? That tells me it's fair to say that when he goes for a triple double, he's also going for wins at an extremely high rate.

If Westbrook was averaging 35/9/9, would his season be any less impressive? Not really. It's still one of the greatest seasons of all time and they are going to be more than a dozen over .500.

Mostly just bitter that MVP won't go rightfully to the best player in the game and instead will go for a stat stuffer on a mediocre Western conference team.

I do think RW deserves the MVP award though because it is a historic season. Just bitter.

LeBron is the best player of the era and it's not really close. That doesn't mean he has the best season every year.

    MVP predictions?

I think it goes to Russell Westbrook but it should go to Lebron James or Kawhi Leonard.

    I'm going:

    #1) RW
    #2) Lebron
    #3) Kawhi
    #4) Harden

I think they shit on Lebron.

    #3) Kawhi
    #4) Lebron

I can see Lebron and Kawhi traded spots.

    I'll go

    1. Harden
    2. Leonard
    3. RW
    4. LBJ

    If I had a vote:

    1. Leonard
    2. RW
    3. LBJ
    4. KAT/ Giannis Antetokounmpo

LBJ isn't MVP bc Cavs won 51 games, fucking pathetic.

Cavs also dealt with multiple injuries this year to their core players. How many injuries did RW or Harden's team have to deal with?

How I would vote: RW, LBJ, Leonard, Harden

How I think it will go: Harden, RW, LBJ, Leonard

    RW

LBJ is three times the player either of those guys are, and barely played defense this yr. I dont give a rip about Harden, he's not even top 10 for me in MVP.
  • Ironman92
Did LBJ have a career high in rebounds and assists this year? Shot 54%....maybe his 2nd best year
  • Mulva
Russ should be the MVP. That roster around him is trash

I'll bite...why is he not top 10? His defense?

Defense and the fact that his game is predicated on getting foul calls. Hate players that play that way.

Any other series besides Cavs you'll be paying close attention to? Thought it was interesting Lillard predicted Portland in six over GSW. Pretty sure GSW sweeps them. Houston and OKC will be good and so will Milwaukee and Toronto.

    Eh, kind of.
The two-time All-Star was interviewed Tuesday by CSN Northwest, the local television partner of the Trail Blazers. He was asked whether the eighth-seeded Blazers could beat the best team in the NBA in six games or seven, and he playfully responded with six.

Based on what I said a few posts above, I buy obviously.
  • GOONx19
Also buy. I enjoy it because for some reason I was reading Raptors message boards a few weeks ago, and they were extremely confident in their chances to make it past the Cavs.
