These guys have been terrible. JR is really good at fouling someone when they are launching a 3 and I don't know WTF is wrong with TT. Maybe that Kardashian Curse is real, lol. I heard this morning that Curry has twice as many boards as TT?

SportsAndLady;1856601 wrote:"Not saying cavs can't win" lol uhhh, yeah, you definitely are.

The "narrative" isn't played out. The cavs got rocked in games 1 and 2 last year. And they won the NBA finals. They can do the same thing this year. Stop pretending like this cavs team isn't really fricken good too. And if you think the warriors are just that much better, don't be a bitch and say "not saying the cavs can't win.." after your THE END IS NEAR posts.
I'm saying it. They WON'T win. Golden State got embarrassed last year, blowing that 3-1 lead, and they'd like nothing more than to embarrass the Cavs, and sweep them, on their home court. This isn't even close to being comparable to last year. The Warriors have a Big 4 while the Cavs sometimes have a Big 3.

With Ty Lue as the head coach, I have NO reason to believe this team will win one game in this series. In game 1, they basically gave away a game in a "feeling out" process. In game 2, Lue should've slowed down the pace and muddied things up, but what does he do? He tries to out "Golden State" Golden State by picking up the pace and playing right into their hands. I have no confidence that this guy knows how to make adjustments.

Yes, LBJ is the best player on the planet (not the best player in this series, that's KD right now) but only he can do so much. Love is scrapping as much as he can to help but KI has gone AWOL, TT apparently has his head up the Kardashian chicks ass and JR has gone full blown "New York Knicks mode" JR.

I'm thrilled they finally got the championship monkey off of Cleveland's back but even the great Lebron James won't bail them out this year.

I REALLY hoping I eat my words at the end of this series but I think it's done on Friday night.

Benny The Jet;1856602 wrote:This...it's a lazy narrative to say "we were in the same spot last year...we'll be fine" This is not last year. This is not the same team you're down 0-2 to. Same thing I've been saying about the Indians this year...just because they have the same record this time last year...it's not the same at all.

Well at least you're saying it lol. Don't make dozens of arguments for why cavs won't win and then say "well of course the cavs COULD win.."

No, I don't think they will win. Have seen no adjustments in this series to believe they have a chance. What sucks most is that we'll have to hear all of the GSW's bandwagoners with the "this should've been three in a row" bullshit.

I'd love nothing more than to eat my words but even when the Cavs play better, which they did last night, GS puts up 132 points.

Isn't this this around the time where JR had that crash that killed his friend?

JR mentally disappears every finals. I think after 15 games in the finals it's safe to say it's a trend for JR.

JR's like that 3 year old kid with ADD. You have to catch him at the right time for him to be productive. I think they caught that "window" last year, for a brief period of time but this is basically what you can expect from him (current behavior).

Unfortunately, this team isn't loaded with a bunch of "Lebron's" (mindset-wise, not skillset). LBJ, it seems, has that hunger for more rings where his supporting cast (minus Williams & Korver) are probably happy to just have their ring.

They just ran out of gas last night and missed (what seemed like) 95% of their shots in the 3rd quarter.

They were right there with them going into halftime. Like I said, warriors took care of business on their home court, now it's up to the cavs to do so.

If the cavs win games 3&4, anything can happen.

These last two games sucked but they were probably expected. Gotta get back to Cleveland and punch them right back in the mouth.

I disagree with that completely. Kyrie and Love both are hungry for more rings. Kyrie is a competitor.

I actually disagree with all of this. The entire team wouldn't have gone 12-1 leading up to the finals if they were content with one ring. I think you're trying too hard to get into the mindset of every athlete.

Your first statement is the problem. Obviously 2016 isn't 2017 but think back to last year's Game 7....low scoring. THAT'S the only way the Cavs have a chance to get back into this series but what does Lue try to do last night? Go toe to toe with them, playing to their strength.

I fugging HATE iso-ball but that's the only way they have a chance...LBJ or KI "killing ants" at the top of the key for about 18-20 seconds and then attacking the rim or dishing for an open 3. They have to slow down the Warriors and limit their possessions, not increase them.

They could've slept through the EC playoffs and still came out 12-1.

    Bullshit.

Don't shit on the cavs when they're down (right now) and then shit on their achievements (dominating an under rated eastern conference).

Here's my opinion. The Cavs are best when they play fast, with pace. We've heard Lue and players mention it as such, all year. Thsts why GS is a terrible matchup for the Cavs. Playing fast is exactly what GS wants. The Cavs played well last night and still lost by 20. They looked completely gassed and you rarely see lebron look that way, but right before halftime, he took that small break and you could just see how tired he looked. .
This GS team is incredible. Their bench is AWFUL, I mean terrible, and it doesn't matter. Because at all times 2 of the big 4 are on the floor. And really it's moreso 2 of the big 3, minis draymond, are always on the floor. That's a complete mismatch vs any bench.
There isn't a way to beat them, outside of them playing poorly and you playing incredible. And last night GS didn't play THAT well, and the Cavs played great for a half.
At this point. I'm just hoping the Cavs get 1 at home so that GS doesn't win on our floor again.

Side note, i was thinking about this last night. Is it the biggest compliment of how great LBJ is, that a team with 73 wins and the unanimous MVP last year, had to go and get Durant to beat him??

100% false. You saw exactly what happened in the regular season when they went thru the motions. So, you're telling me them "flipping the switch" during the playoffs means everyone outside of Lebron is content with their one ring? The entire team improved on pretty much every metric from the regular season to the playoffs (including defense). Lebron is amazing, but that simply doesn't happen with just Lebron, sorry. We have seen Lebron teams go thru the motions in the East playoffs (see his last season with the Heat), and they weren't even close to being dominant.

+1, all year we heard about how (insert team) could challenge the Cavs in the East, and now all of a sudden everyone gets to downplay their run thru the East? GTFO.
  • Midstate01
Slowing it down seems like a great idea, but if you slow it down vs THIS GS team, you better make every basket. Because the warriors are scoring on their end, with ease.

Stop comparing last year to this year too. GS is a completely different monster now, with KD.

The East wasn't bad at all. Every media person alive was telling us how the Cavs were vulnerable and the east was so much better. Then the Cavs curb stomp them, and suddenly the east stinks?? Gtfoh. The Cavs regular season was atrocious at times, but when they needed it most, come playoff time, they were fantastic. And lebron, 14 years in, said f you, I'm the best I've ever been.

Who's "shitting" on the Cavs? They are a great team. They're better than 28 other teams in the league. The East sucks though. It's pretty telling when they (Cavs) didn't really put forward a concerted effort to get the #1 seed because they knew they'd be in the finals. The Cavs are THAT much better than the rest of the East.

I agree with all of this. I just find it bullshit that people downplay last year's title because of the Green suspension. Without even bringing up the fact that love was out 1.75 games last finals and love/kyrie out in 2015, my counter to that argument is if Draymond missing game 5 was the only difference, then why did they need to sign KD?

They can always have a lineup where they have 2 guys that can kill you at any given point. There really isn't much you can do. KD went to GSW knowing that no team would be able to make any moves to counter a big 4 roster. Just adds to the fact he made the biggest beta bitch move in sports history.

+1, gotta love how everyone is now moving the goal posts. This is why the media is the worst. They can't admit they are wrong, so they move the goal posts to tell everyone that the East actually sucks.

It doesn't mean the East is complete trash either. I think top to bottom there was more parity in the East than the West. The Cavs and Spurs are THAT much better than the rest of the NBA imo. It just shows how fucking good the Warriors are now with KD.

Yes, when he doesn't have another MVP joining his team. Life is a lot easier when the majority of the focus shifts to another player.

Refer to my previous response and apply it to KD. Life is a lot easier when the opposition also has to focus on a 2x MVP that can hit a shot from anywhere.
