NBA Champion - Cleveland Cavaliers 2016-2017 Season Thread

That Muscle Milk commercial with Curry is the worst fucking thing I have ever seen on my television.

Everyone outside of Lebron, Love, and Irving had been absolutely useless.

Irving had a complete trash game.

Yeah that was one of the worst Kyrie games I've seen from him. He has to be better going forward or we're cooked.

I figured since sports this whole weekend has sucked for me that the Cavs would find a way

I was wrong. Every damn thing concerning a sporting contest on tv has sucked.

Still holding out hope but damn I'm over basketball.

Kerr and Curry are talking about drunk they'll be next weekend after winning the championship.

The NBA is about to become very unwatchable if the cavs can't even compete. Boston must be watching this and thinking "we probably should hold onto our picks"
  • friendfromlowry
It's already unwatchable October through May.

132 points given up...in the finals. Woof

Cavs got blown out in games 1&2 last year, too. Everyone needs to relax, cavs were double digit dogs in these first two games and the warriors held their home court. If it's 2-2 going back to Oakland this is a series.

I just don't see a way GSW loses. When Durant was hurt, Cavs in 5. But when he came back, it's just lights out. LeBron can't play much better, lost by 20.

Yeah, pretty much feeling like this too. Hopefully the Cavs can get something going in Cleveland, but I'm not sure I see it happening. I know they were in the same position last year, but I'm just not optimistic.

This narrative is so played out and useless. Did GSW have Durant last year? Ok cool, so it makes no fucking difference. Plus, GSW are not gonna forget blowing it. Not saying Cavs can't win (though I don't see much they can do), but last year doesn't make a damn difference.

Lebron and Love/Irving have to have great games (with the other having at least a decent game). They need scoring from anyone and everyone else, and Durant or Curry has to have a complete suck-dick game.

"Not saying cavs can't win" lol uhhh, yeah, you definitely are.

The "narrative" isn't played out. The cavs got rocked in games 1 and 2 last year. And they won the NBA finals. They can do the same thing this year. Stop pretending like this cavs team isn't really fricken good too. And if you think the warriors are just that much better, don't be a bitch and say "not saying the cavs can't win.." after your THE END IS NEAR posts.

This...it's a lazy narrative to say "we were in the same spot last year...we'll be fine" This is not last year. This is not the same team you're down 0-2 to. Same thing I've been saying about the Indians this year...just because they have the same record this time last year...it's not the same at all.

Not saying it's the same thing. But you guys are acting like this is over, when we all pretty much acknowledged we'd be going back to Cleveland down 0-2.

If the warriors win a game in Cleveland, then yes we're done. It'd be stupid to say "we were down 3-1 last year we can do it again this year!" But saying the cavs can still come back and win this thing isn't stupid. You guys are just overreacting to games 1&2.

A game three win gives hope.

Didn't notice live how bad of a missed call there was on the play Steph drove on Lebron. Steph literally picked up the ball with both hands midway through the dribble (when Lebron left his feet) and kept going.

S&L relax a bit. Biggest difference between last year and this year is Cleveland had a bad first two games. This year they simply haven't been able to stop the Warriors offense at all.

It's pretty much a video game offense out there, just transition dunks and 3s all day

Yep. Either that (if you're planning on giving the rookies a few years to get their NBA legs), or kick the can and trade them for picks in future drafts, hoping that they'll be able to fair better in a few years.

To be fair, the Cavs shot worse from behind the arc than they have in any game in this postseason. Meanwhile, the Warriors set a record for the most threes in a Finals game.

I'm certainly not expecting the Cavs to win the series. I said Warriors in 6 before the Finals started. It might be 5, if things trend the same way, but the first two games this year featured bad team shooting. In Game 1, it was under 35% from the floor as a whole, which is obviously worse, but tonight it was under 28% from three-point land. Both of those are, as a team, anomalous.

So 2 starters (TT & JR) have given us a total of 10 points in 2 games, with each averaging -15 while on the floor. Expect a lineup change coming

Just read on Twitter that Shump may start game 3.
