What does Lebron have to do?

  • sleeper
To be considered unanimously best player of all time?

Does he need 6 championships? More MVPs? More FMVPs?

    yes

He already is the best of all time.

That is the opinion of many but he's not unanimous(or close).

My guess is he would have to match the title count against Jordan, but even then people would say Jordan was 6-0 in the finals.

FWIW both players at the age of 31 has 3 titles. Lebron had more MVPs though.

LJ will never be the greatest of all time. THere is nothing about his play or career that changes the game. Players like JOrdan Dr.J and MAgic transformed the game.

LJ has won one legit title. THe others were part of a franchise pimping out top player and bought the rings

IMO, LBJ is now in Jordan's atmosphere...however, it'll take a few more titles though to elevate him to GOAT

Jordan and James have the same number of titles won at James' current age.

I love watching LeBron James. In my opinion, he's the most physically gifted basketball player of all time. I appreciate what he has now done for Cleveland, and I hope he continues to be successful. From a numbers standpoint, he will probably end up topping Jordan in every major statistical category. Hopefully he ends up winning as many (or more) titles than Jordan as well.

The thing is, though, I feel like there's just something missing when comparing LeBron to MJ. I don't know exactly how to describe it or explain it. It just seems like he doesn't have the same mentality that Jordan had. Maybe it's because I feel like he's too passive at times, or reluctant to demand the ball at certain times. I'm probably being unfair to him since I was much younger when watching Jordan, but for some reason, I just can't quite say that he'll ever be better than MJ. Maybe that will change in the next few years, but it'll be tough to convince me. Right now, if I had to pick one player to get the job done in a single game scenario, I would still pick Jordan every time.

Also, I'd love to see Jordan come back down 3-1 in the NBA Finals, against a 73 win team, the first unanimous MVP, and lead both teams in Points, Rebounds, Assists, Steals, and Blocks; AND win Game 7 on the road. AND break a 50+ year title drought for a city.

Not to mention, Lebron has 7 triple doubles in the Finals. Jordan? Zero.

Jordan never did any of those things. Jordan never took a team that had 19 wins in the previous years to back to back NBA finals(winning 1). Jordan's Bulls were still a 50+ win team without him.

The reality is, Lebron is a better player than Jordan. It's that simple.

One could say Jordan was too good to go down 3-1 in a series. He was 'that good' to be the team to win 72 games, and too good that his team was never put into the position to have to win a game 7 on the road.

Jordan didn't have to collude with 2 other top 10 players to get a ring either.

    This argument is stupid.

Do people not realize how fucking good Scottie Pippen was?

Bulls without Jordan won 50+ games. Cavs without Lebron 19 wins. Must be nice to be lucky and be handed a 50+ win team for Jordan to carry.

He was also drafted by the Bulls. Jordan didn't go searching him out in the offseason.

    Sorry traded on draft night.

So Jordan > Lebron because of the Bulls Front office.

Jordan > Lebron because Bulls got lucky with drafting.

    LOL.

do you realize that Pippen was that good because he played with Jordan.......Does LeBron make his teammates better?

As for skills, Jordan was a better shooter and ball handler then LJ. Hell Jordan was better off the dribble then LJ and that is about all he does that is half way decent.

Ok, I can now see...you're trolling. Well done.

What did Pippen do after Jordan retired the first time?

2 NBA 1st team, 2 NBA 1st team defense, All-Star MVP, finished 3rd in MVP voting, lead the league in steals, lead the Bulls in every statistical category, lead the Bulls to 55 wins.

All while Jordan dicked around on the White Sox.

Then counter it. Jordan was handed a 50+ win team while Lebron's teams completely die without him. This is fact and reality.

they died without hm because the front office is stupid and dont know what they were doing.

THe bulls management knew how to win without one player. Cleveland management is still learning

Okay. So explain how that helps Jordan?

Jordan is better than Lebron because of the team management office. Please. LOL
