What does Lebron have to do?
-
wildcats201985-86 for Jordan sure as he'll isn't gonna be held against him. He missed 64 games before coming back for the playoffs.
-
sleeperFor comparison purposes, here are Jordan's current stat ranks:
Season Playoffs Finals Points 4 1 3 Assists 42 10 7 Rebounds 133 41 28 Steals 3 2 6 Blocks 108 34 28
If you are being objective it's not even close. Lebron is better. -
Spocksleeper;1801154 wrote:Also Lebron will probably end his career #1 in points, top 10 in assists, and top 20 in steals.
He will also be for the playoffs, #1 in points, #2 in assists, #1 in steals, top 5 in rebounds, and top 15 in blocks.
For the Finals, #1 in points, #1 in steals, #2 in assists, top 5 in blocks, and top 5 in rebounds.
Tell me more about Jordan though!
But he wont will his team to 6 titles. THat is 6 with one team. He didnt go and pimp himself to the highest bidder to win a title. -

Again, your argument is Jordan > Lebron because Jordan had a better team and front office.Spock;1801159 wrote:But he wont will his team to 6 titles. THat is 6 with one team. He didnt go and pimp himself to the highest bidder to win a title.

So by that logic Tim Duncan is closer to Jordan than Lebron is in your opinion?Spock;1801159 wrote:But he wont will his team to 6 titles. THat is 6 with one team. He didnt go and pimp himself to the highest bidder to win a title. -

no because Duncan was never the center piece of those teams. He wasnt the go to guy.friendfromlowry;1801162 wrote:So by that logic Tim Duncan is closer to Jordan than Lebron is in your opinion? -

My point is simple.......JOrdan changed the game of basketball. He won the title in 6 straight seasons that he played in. You guys can talk all the stats you want.....JOrdan has the top stat....6 in a row with one team.sleeper;1801161 wrote:Again, your argument is Jordan > Lebron because Jordan had a better team and front office.

Could you imagine if he didnt go away for 3 years and try baseball. LIkely 7 or 8 titles. -

quit posting about stats.....at the end of the day, season stats dont mean shit. ITs all about titles. MJ has 6 with one team, LJ has to split his with Wade and Boschsleeper;1801158 wrote:For comparison purposes, here are Jordan's current stat ranks:

Then who was? Certainly not Ginobili. Parker you could argue for but I don't think you could say he was the centerpiece above Duncan. I'm not going to look at the stats for every championship season but in 2007 for instance he lead the team in points, minutes, games played/started, rebounds, shots attempted.Spock;1801163 wrote:no because Duncan was never the center piece of those teams. Jordan couldn't get it done on another team. I'd love to see Jordan go play for a shit team like the Cavs had and carry them to a title. He was gifted a championship team and didn't need to leave.Spock;1801168 wrote:quit posting about stats.....at the end of the day, season stats dont mean shit. ITs all about titles. The reality is stats matter and you just don't like that the stats don't fit your delusional narrative. -

sleeperAnyways, I'm comfortable with the facts that I put into this thread. They are reality, not fantasy land stats like "Lebron never won 6 in a row with the same team; that's all that matters".
Enjoy fantasy land; I'll be in reality. -

1999 - 27/14 FMVP
2003 - 24/17 FMVP
2005 - 21/14 FMVP
Hell even in 2007, when Parker won FMVP, Timmy still averaged 18/12. -

Carry them anywhere outside of the first round. That's as far as Jordan can take a shit team.wildcats20;1801172 wrote:LeBron never led a shit team to a title. -

MJ's average for the series loss to the Celtics team that had 8 of the top 10 players stat line though was embarrassing.
35.7 ppg, 7 rb, 6 ast, 2.3 blk, 2 stl -

Larry Hughes
Sasha Pavlović
LeBron James
Drew Gooden
Zydrunas Ilgauskas
This was his bench:
Brown, Shannon
Gibson, Daniel
Jones, Damon
Jones, Dwayne
Marshall, Donyell
Newble, Ira
Pollard, Scot
Snow, Eric
Varejão, Anderson
Wesley, David
Absolutely the worst roster ever to make the finals. Pure shit. -

Did they get by Larry Bird, Kevin McHale, Robert Parish, Dennis Johnson, Danny Ainge and Bill Walton? The worst starter on that NBA Championship team averaged 15.6/5.2/4.2/2.3 for the playoffs.sleeper;1801181 wrote:Lebron took this starting lineup to the NBA Finals:

Go ahead and post your playful rebuttal. I'm done with this. MJ still a little above LeBron for his career IMO. LeBron could use another MVP, hopefully he gets another 1-3 more. -

Besides Bird, none of those players would be all stars in today's game. The nostalgia is nice but the reality is players today are bigger, stronger, faster along with playing against the world's best instead of just the USA's best.Ironman92;1801182 wrote:Did they get by Larry Bird, Kevin McHale, Robert Parish, Dennis Johnson, Danny Ainge and Bill Walton? Ironman92Him going forward will be fun to watch. Looking ahead for him to catch Kareem he'll need 6 more full seasons of his typical scoring...surely sounds doable or maybe he plays 4 more good years and 4 more years with some injuries and a lesser ceiling...both sound quite reasonable. Looking at games played though he may need longer than he wants to hang on though. If LeBron plays 75 games a year for 6 years he'll be over 1400 career games. To put into perspective Tim Duncan and Kobe are both still short of 1400 career games, mix in the fact LeBron will have blown way past the career playoff game totals and it may be longer and more wear and tear than he wants. I hope he does hang on and also hope Durant doesn't have the longevity to catch him (doubtful IMO)
