As long as they understand that it's one and done now, and losing because of an ultra conservative game plan sucks, I'm fine with McCarron as the QB.
IF it's a mental thing with Dalton and the playoffs (and I think he's played much better in primetime this year so maybe he's turned that corner) then I'm fine with McCarron as well. Anyways, sounds like his cast is off and he was doing some very limited practicing today. Marvin said he'll likely be the backup this weekend, which I think is a good strategy. Let McCarron prepare for the start and take away any mystery or suspicion. If the Bengals go into a hole early and it looks like he just doesn't have it, then go to Dalton later in the game. What do you have to lose.

Limited practice. He handed off with his left hand...LOL. Dalton isn't playing...lets be real.

For somebody with an obsession to troll the Browns you would at least think you would know wtf you are talking about. Dumb fuck deadbeat is gonna dumb fuck deadbeat I suppose.

Like_that and Lowry...keep your snakebit, eternal losers persona 1,000 miles away from Bengals threads. We can't afford to have any of your last place mojo rubbing off on Cinci.

You're more of a father to your daughter than a bengals fan.

Are you frigging stupid? I'm pretty sure Lowry is a BENGALS fan.

Tiernan's attempt at humor is to classify anyone against him as Browns fan like it's some type of insult anyone gives a shit about. Meanwhile, 75% of his posts are about the Browns. Kind of reminds me of a shitty high school movie where you supposedly hate someone yet you can't stop talking about them.

Williams still in a boot as of yesterday, no way he plays.

    Can we thread ban Tiernan??

Back to the game. I got a hunch this is the year when the Bengals break through. Ben will turn the ball over, AJ hasn't thrown a pick since the Steelers game. If we have one or zero turnovers I like our chances.

    He got banned.

I share a similar feeling. Hopefully, the misery of playoff shortcomings is over and the Bengals break through. Of course, anything is possible.

What Steelers would start on the Bengals?

    AB
    Ben

    I think David DeCastro would.

Defense? Timmons? Heyward would get playing time but not sure he'd start. Anyone? Lol the Bengals defense is better in at least 9 of the 11 positions. Shazier would contend as well.

Lance McCallister (Cincinnati sports media) retweeted cornerback rankings for the season not long ago, and Dre Kirkpatrick was near the bottom. Steelers secondary have any good cornerbacks?

Gay has became about league average just by going by my eyes.

Announcers say Mike Mitchell is good but I refuse to agree. They have about 14 guys that go in and out on defense and some of them play pretty well for the Steelers but they just aren't as good as the Bengals guys at that position.

Shazier has games where he looks like a Pro Bowl guy and then have 4 games where you never hear his name. Young guys like Villanueva (not young but just 1st year) at OT and Stephon Tuitt looks like really good players for the foreseeable future and have been quite good this year. Ross Cockrell looks like he'll replace Gay in the near future and he has been good a lot lately. One guy that doesn't get a lot of snaps but creates issues often is Bud Dupree. I'd like him on the field more for sure.

QB's starting their first playoff game for Cincinnati...McCarron has to do better, right?

    Virgil Carter, 1970........7-20.......64 yds....0 td....1 int.....23.7 passer rating
    Ken Anderson, 1973....14-27.....113 yds....0 td....1 int.....47.3
    Boomer Esiason, 1988.. 7-19.....108 yds....0 td....0 int.....56.5
    Andy Dalton, 2011.......27-42......252 yds...0 td....3 int..... 51.4

I excluded Palmer because he only threw one pass.
  • Azubuike24
They run a completely different scheme, so it wouldn't be that easy to just interchange players. However, any of the Steelers front 3 would start over Peko. Shazier, Timmons and Dupree would all play significant time. Outside of Burfict lately, the Bengals really don't stick with their linebackers consistently. It's definitely a position of weakness.

I hate it, but I have the scumbags winning this game mainly because rapistberger is playing and AJ is on the other side. I think the steelers score just enough that AJ can't overcome.

I just received notification that the steelers don't plan to play williams. I still have them winning, but it will probably be in typical ugly AFCN fashion.

I hope it's not a 16-13 type game...to me that means Ben is throwing interceptions or too many turnovers of some sort.
  • Automatik
No Williams, I'm expecting 50+ pass attempts and lots of no huddle.
  • friendfromlowry
FWIW, >50% chance of rain tomorrow night in Cincinnati. Bring it on if the Steelers are going to have to rely on the passing game.
