I had to pause the tv after the fumble recovery and went into the kitchen and did push ups and then stared at the refrigerator looking at meaningful pictures of my kids. I was 10 min behind. Sports about kill meAutomatik;1774517 wrote:I'm feeling great! -

Lol give it up man. The team looked doomed ever since Dalton went down. They still continue to lose huge division games, primetime games, and playoff games.sportchampps;1774488 wrote:No way should Lewis be gone. He took a team with a backup QB within 30 second of a playoff win. He has built a great roster. It's not on him that Hill fumbled -
friendfromlowryAdam Jones is a free agent this offseason and I'll have a hard time supporting the team if they bring him back. I realize he (and Burfict) had excellent seasons and losing them would most certainly mean a regression, but they have to go. They're losers and literally snatched defeat defeat from the jaws of victory. Burfict can't help himself, he just HAS to play like a dirty POS. Pacman isn't much better. Pittsburgh just needs 10-15 more yards to enter field goal range, so why is he near the officials and Joey Porter continually jawing, shoving, etc. Just go fucking sit on the other side of the field man. Literally do ANYTHING else other than what you're doing. They both have proven they're dickheads and it'll never change. Jones is going to be 33 years old next season.
Marvin Lewis needs to go, too. I'm not basing it off this game, but season after season of losing any game that's not played at 1pm in Cincinnati in September, October, or November. Hue Jackson and Guenther are both most certainly gone - promote one of them while you can. Idk if you can control Jones or Burfict, but that game proved he himself can't. In the past, you could make the point that maybe they weren't as talented and some off-season adjustments would get them where they wanted to be. This is different. They had the game won, and they lost their cool and gave it away.
Jeremy Hill sucked this season. Everyone makes mistakes, but you know what all 11 guys on defense want to do in that position, and he lets them. Probably too busy thinking about his next stupid dance move. Bernard needs to be starting next season.
Of course, this is Mike Brown we're talking about. Jones will get a new contract, Burfict and Hill will still be starting, and Lewis will still be coaching. -
Midstate01I still don't think Burfict hit brown in the head. I've not seen an angle that shows that. Every angle I've seen it's shoulder to shoulder. Think browns head going back and him laying there got the flag. I also think Pac-Man is an idiot but he was right in his instagram, porter should have never been on the field and the fact they didn't penalize them for that is trash.

His head is right on Burfict's shoulder pad.Midstate01;1774538 wrote:I still don't think Burfict hit brown in the head. I've not seen an angle that shows that. Watch it about the :17 second mark. That's about the best angle that shows him being hit in the head.

He was probably thinking "I'm going to go out on the field and see if I can get a penalty out of Pacman" and then he did.Midstate01;1774538 wrote:I also think Pac-Man is an idiot but he was right in his instagram, porter should have never been on the field and the fact they didn't penalize them for that is trash. -
supermanIf you go back and watch the whole thing, Munchak actually started out by pushing Burfict .

Part of me thinks "NFL gonna NFL. Refs have been horrid all season. Why expect them to realize a rule is being broken right in front of them anymore." But Burfict and Jones can't be fucking morons every time something pisses them off. They're reputations are second to none and no referee is going to give them the benefit of the doubt. This kind of shit also makes me think of conspiracy theories. How else do officials badly blow a call like that?rip34;1774544 wrote:http://www.sbnation.com/2016/1/10/10743904/steelers-bengals-joey-porter-foul -
SportsAndLadySteelers get away with another missed call against them? Fucking shocker!!
Not surprised Porter, the ultimate shitbag, was out on the field running his mouth like the POS he is. Also not surprised the refs just decided to let it go and not throw the flag on him. And then somehow threw a flag on the bengals on the play lol.
It's shit like that, that makes you realize why the steelers have won a few Super Bowls recently. -

Saying something to an opponent to get him to react and draw a flag is part of the game. For players. Coaches should be held to a higher standard which was why the Munchak call was correct, and the failure to flag Jerry Porter was incorrect. At worst, it should have been offsetting, though I'm told the league is trying to get away from that.SportsAndLady;1774550 wrote:

I'm beginning to think the league is trying to get away from football....at least as I knew it growing up.though I'm told the league is trying to get away from that.
More inconsistent ref calling....the hit on Antonio Brown at the end of the game gets flagged, but ealier in the second half, Shazier's hit on the Bengals receiver where he led with the crown of his helmet under the chin, does not. SMH. For sure, the refs decided this game...and it seems to be coming more and more prevalent. -

That was the call/non-call that lost the refs control of the game. After that you knew it was going to get ugly.HitsRus;1774554 wrote:I'm beginning to think the league is trying to get away from football....at least as I knew it growing up.

HereticWatching the game with a lot of beers = great fun.
Reading the tears flowing = also great fun.
Survive and advance; a foreign thought for Cincy, but a reality. Steelers didn't deserve to advance, but they survived due to the simple fact they were playing the lowest-IQ team in the NFL.
As for the refs, they should have tried to take control of the game even earlier than the Shazier hit. When they threw no flags at all during the play when Pittsburgh had the ball in the red zone and DeCastro and Burfict went to the ground and were rolling around until they got pulled apart, I knew things were going to get out-of-control quickly. Then, when the announcers were trying to ride the refs' jocks by saying they did the best they could, all I could do was laugh at that dumb shit. -
like_thatI always said vontaze was going to fuck the bengals over in a big game and he did. Even if that was a legal hit, the refs were going to throw that flag regardless based on his reputation for being a piece of shit.
Not surprised the rapist got "hurt" and dramatically left and came back onto the field. He will play next week and be just fine. I'm sure we will hear how super tough he is though. Also not surprised to see the steelers receive another bullshit benefit from the NFL. What's new? Even though pacman is a dumbass, at the worst the refs should have told Joey porter to get the fuck off the field. Those refs should never see a playoff game in their lives.
I also don't think the bengals fire Marvin Lewis. If they do I think it's pretty dumb. Be careful for what you wish for. -
Ironman92Shazier should've been flagged and it looked that way full speed the way the refs see it. Shazier is dirty and often launches. He knocked himself out of the game and missed 4 games early in the season doing that. You'd think that would scare him.
Burfict had ample time to miss Brown. He hit his head with his shoulder and he was in no position to defend himself. Burfict did it on purpose and it cost him dearly.
Think about it...Burfict would've been an absolute hero. Knocking out Ben for the comeback, intercepting the ball. The Bengals would've had 2-3 more defensive plays as Pittsburgh was on the 46 yard line with 18 seconds left....2-3 more good plays and Burfict is a Bengals hero. Instead he took a dirty cheap shot at a receivers head and lost a game for a city and probably cost his coach his job. -
Ironman92I asked some people I knew to share their stories about the crowd last night to those on my FB that went to the game. Grammar is rough
-
MontyBrunswicklots of sore losers in this thread, not surprised.
as a neutral party watching this game, the bengals lost fair and square. the clowns pacman and burfict cost them the game.
to put blame on the steelers getting away with calls is childish and stupid. -
fish82You can blame Burfict if you want, but the fact is that the Bengals aren't even in a position to win the game if he's not out there for the previous 59 minutes.
-
friendfromlowryI bet if the game was in Pittsburgh everyone would have been super nice and friendly instead.
