AutomatikMissing my point, which is there should be no surprise that Burfict got suspended. It's not like this is something new...see, Merriweather, Harrison, Suh. You get fined repeatedly, don't be shocked when Lord Goodell makes you sit.
I do agree with some that 3 games without pay is harsh. -
Azubuike24The argument isn't necessarily with you Automatik. It's the loose definition of "repeat offender." Does that mean 2 prior personal fouls? 6? 8? 3 times fined in the past? 5? A previous suspension? It's all subjective. And in this case, the stage and the media attention made it almost a foregone conclusion he would be suspended. Which is fine, but the motive behind it has zero to do with trying to prevent it in the future, it's about making an example of a player giving a bad name to the league.

I've seen far more shitburgh fans crying about "Tez shoul b banneded 4eva!" Than Bengals fans crying about anything. Most Bengals i know blame Lewis, Jones, and Burfict.Heretic;1775012 wrote:Keep the tears rolling Cincinnati, since you can't provide meaningful wins ever, you can at least provide amusement! -
AutomatikGoodell has no intention of setting a standard which would result in consistency with his decisions regarding discipline.
-
friendfromlowryCouldn't care less he was suspended. Sick of him playing like a dirtball. Bengals certainly won't hold him accountable.
-
Azubuike24Exactly. It's like the NCAA. If they acknowledged that precedent mattered, they would be hypocritical in decision making pretty much every day. It would be way too transparent on decisions they love to keep subjective.

I'm certainly never going to defend the POS steelers ever, but Bengals fans have been obnoxious the last few days. Hell there's a petition going around asking the NFL to investigate the game lol -

I've not seen a single solitary Steelers fan say that....not even on FB.superman;1775021 wrote:I've seen far more shitburgh fans crying about "Tez shoul b banneded 4eva!" Than Bengals fans crying about anything. Most Bengals i know blame Lewis, Jones, and Burfict.
The crying by Bengals fans is incredible. Fake injury, refs, should've been flags, ....mind you it's irritating people on FB/Twitter who really don't know much of anything about football...but it's rampant. Maybe if I go to one of the idiotic Steelers message boards there are asinine threads about Bengals players. -
AutomatikMy Cincy friends are still devastated. Makes the W even sweeter!

Blame should be on Jeremy Hill.superman;1775021 wrote:I've seen far more shitburgh fans crying about "Tez shoul b banneded 4eva!" Than Bengals fans crying about anything. Most Bengals i know blame Lewis, Jones, and Burfict. -

I have seen it a little bit; not phrased as moronically as in the example given, but I have seen it. About 5% of what I've seen from Bengal fans whining about the game, the flipping catch, how Burfict is an angel unjustly screwed by the refs, etc.Ironman92;1775032 wrote:I've not seen a single solitary Steelers fan say that....not even on FB.

Then again, it is kind of funny that the Bengals fan that's saying that most others he knows are blaming Lewis, Jones and Burfict is one that's argued that Burfict shouldn't have even been penalized for his hit and that it's bullshit he was disciplined, so yeah, grain of salt being taken there. -

I said a suspension was bullshit. But don't let facts stand in the way of your narrative.Heretic;1775050 wrote:I have seen it a little bit; not phrased as moronically as in the example given, but I have seen it. fish82Both fanbases are pretty equally asshurt, from what I've seen.

AutomatikI'm good. Pittsburgh is still in it. Not very confident though, apparently Roethlisberger stated earlier that he has "torn ligaments" along with the sprained AC joint.

Same here. None of the posters on here that are Pittsburgh fans have been whining but I've seen quite a few on other social media outlets.fish82;1775060 wrote:Both fanbases are pretty equally asshurt, from what I've seen. -
AutomatikYou mean Cincy and Cleveland? I agree, and I LOVE IT.

No he meant cinci and Pittsburgh.Automatik;1775066 wrote:You mean Cincy and Cleveland? I agree, and I LOVE IT.
The butthurt is strong in both fan bases. -

C'mon now, is there any doubt the "Knight in Shining Armor" will play this weekend? The Pittsburgh homer announcer during that game said "this is the stuff legends are made of" when he came back in. Luckily, I didn't start projectile vomiting when I heard that since I was driving. He'll play.Automatik;1775061 wrote:I'm good. Pittsburgh is still in it. AutomatikNot sure what I would prefer. Jones or a noodle arm Roethlisberger.
-
BR1986FB
That's exactly what I meant. The hypocrisy of a fan base with their "classy" ownership who cheers on a rapist, a wife beater and a dog killer is comical. "Ban Burfict from the league !!! yada, yada, yada"SportsAndLady;1775068 wrote:No he meant cinci and Pittsburgh.

And most of the Bengals fans I've seen bitching have a bunch of excuses and are casting blame on the wrong guy (Marvin Lewis) -

Ha....as much as it pains me, TheRapist at 50% is better than 2/3rd's of the league.Automatik;1775070 wrote:Not sure what I would prefer. Jones or a noodle arm Roethlisberger. -

Noodle arm still >>>>>>>>>> Jones. Of course, if he is damaged, by playing he could be at risk of going full Romo and simply getting shattered, which is another element to consider. But on pure on-field merits, his arm could be hanging by a thread and he'd still do better at QB than Jones.Automatik;1775070 wrote:Not sure what I would prefer. SportsAndLadyBen is probably 100% healthy. Just looking for some sympathy before he goes out there. He's "gutsy" guys!

Automatik
Yeah, probably this. Jones looked very bad in the limited time he was in. It also irks me that he doesn't look for Brown more.Heretic;1775073 wrote:Noodle arm still >>>>>>>>>> Jones.
