I'm not sold on either of them at all, so I'm fine with a trade. If this were last year with Winston and mariotta I would be pissed.SportsAndLady;1792376 wrote:Two top QB prospects.
Browns have a top 2 pick.
Browns need a QB (desperately).
...only the Browns would trade their pick. SMH. -

Interesting opinion.SportsAndLady;1792376 wrote:Two top QB prospects.
Last year not known with Mariotta having only one year, the last time the second QB taken in the draft was worth it was 8 years ago with Joe Flacco and he was taken at 18. -

Prospects. I'm not saying both of them are elite QB's. They're the top two QB's in this draft. The Browns have a top 2 pick and need a QB. What the fuck are we doing?Sonofanump;1792381 wrote:Interesting opinion.

Should we just keep waiting until you are fine with a QB? Maybe in 40 years we'll have the top pick in an Andrew luck draft.like_that;1792377 wrote:I'm not sold on either of them at all, so I'm fine with a trade. If this were last year with Winston and mariotta I would be pissed.
You have to take the top QB and see if they pan out. Nothing is ever a guarantee (outside of the Lucks) -

To me the logic most are using to pick a QB at 2 is the same logic that was used to draft Weeden.SportsAndLady;1792383 wrote:Should we just keep waiting until you are fine with a QB? Maybe in 40 years we'll have the top pick in an Andrew luck draft.

There isn't much of a drop off from the top 2 guys from the other guys imo. -

I think there is a bigger difference between goff than the rest imo. With wentz slightly better than the others. I trust hue more than anyone when it comes to qb's. Getting more picks is the smart thing to do honestlylike_that;1792384 wrote:To me the logic most are using to pick a QB at 2 is the same logic that was used to draft Weeden.

He was a sure fire bust. Outside of BR and iggy, not a single person on here was excited about that pick. Plus he was the 22nd pick and 4th QB off the board. Wentz would be the 2nd pick and 2nd QB off the board. -

About a week ago you posted there's no difference between Goff and Wentz. So which one is it?Crimson streak;1792385 wrote:I think there is a bigger difference between goff than the rest imo. -

I'm speaking of the "we need a QB so we must get one no matter what" logic that was used to get Weeden. I feel like the same thing is happening with goff and wentz. These two guys wouldn't go in the first round the last 2 drafts.SportsAndLady;1792388 wrote:Weeden?!

I think Goff would have went in the first round but I agree with your point. I just don't get spending the 2nd pick in the 1st round a QB when he is only marginally a better prospect then a guy you can get in the 2nd or 3rd round.like_that;1792392 wrote:I'm speaking of the "we need a QB so we must get one no matter what" logic that was used to get Weeden. I just disagree. I don't get that feeling at all. The Browns are desperate for a QB and there are two elite QB prospects in this draft. It makes perfectly good sense to take one.like_that;1792392 wrote:I'm speaking of the "we need a QB so we must get one no matter what" logic that was used to get Weeden. The Weeden thing was just dumb. -
ZWICK 4 PREZReport says it's actually two third rounders this year and the third rounder next year instead of a first and third this year and next. That trade I would do in a heartbeat.

So, it is two 1's and three 3's? I'd do that.ZWICK 4 PREZ;1792397 wrote:Report says it's actually two third rounders this year and the third rounder next year instead of a first and third this year and next. That trade I would do in a heartbeat. -

I just disagree that they are elite prospects, especially wentz, who is more than likely going to be the QB available at #2.SportsAndLady;1792395 wrote:I just disagree. Both of them, IMO, are going to be better than the shit we've had, and the shit we'll continue to have if we keep passing on top QB's to take DE's and CB's. That's why I'm in the boat of taking either of them. -

1st and 2 thirds this year.
1st and third next year.
just realized how weirdly I worded the original post. Made sense to me obviously. -

I know s&l always advocates for QBs (see Geno Smith), and like_that seems to think Goff/Wentz are Geno Smith/EJ Manuel, but I'm with S&L on this one. I'll take either. I prefer Goff, but I'm sick of watching McCown. Gotta try and get a QB.SportsAndLady;1792401 wrote:Yeah I think we just disagree on that.

Everyone, pundits included, knew/said Smith/Manuel weren't that great and not Franchise QBs (See Tebow, Ponder as other recent examples) but Wentz/Goff aren't these guys. They're better. -

So take the second best QB that the team with the previous pick passed on as being inferior, which history shows more often than not they turn about to be Ryan Leaf, RG3, Harrington, Locker, Sanchez. Rivers & McNabb are the exceptions. So 28% for the second pick, I'd hedge and take the boatload including #8.SportsAndLady;1792382 wrote:Prospects. I'm not saying both of them are elite QB's. Lol so the 2nd QB in the draft is going to be a bust because a team passed on them to take the top QB? That is such awful logic.Sonofanump;1792412 wrote:So take the second best QB that the team with the previous pick passed on as being inferior, which history shows more often than not they turn about to be Ryan Leaf, RG3, Harrington, Locker, Sanchez. Rodgers, Wilson, Brees, Farve, Dalton, MM, Carr, TBW, Rapistfucker, etc.... Your argument is nonsensical.Sonofanump;1792412 wrote:So take the second best QB that the team with the previous pick passed on as being inferior, which history shows more often than not they turn about to be Ryan Leaf, RG3, Harrington, Locker, Sanchez. Only Rodgers and Brees were the 2nd QB's taken in their respective drafts besides Mariota who we have no idea how he will end up.. And they were both taken in the 20's after the first QB was picked 1st overall. Farve was the 3rd QB taken, Dalton was the 5th, and Wilson was the 6th in their draft classes. History has shown that more times then not the 2nd QB taken in the draft doesn't normally pan out.Commander of Awesome;1792415 wrote:Rodgers, Wilson, Brees, Farve, Dalton, MM, etc.... SportsAndLadyPaxton Lynch seems like the kind of QB the Browns will trade back to get. And he'll be out of the league in 3 years. All for an extra few third rounders.
