2016 Browns Season Thread

Would love to see Zeke fall to the Browns 2nd pick but he's projected top 10.

Interesting to note, Brugler has Braxton Miller going to the Bengals with their first rounder. I believe both Marvin Jones & Sanu are FA's so they could be Hue Jackson targets in FA, should they want to go that route. I'd rather have Jones if they decide to do that.
Inthink Michael Thomas goes first round....what are everyone's thoughts on Corey Coleman from Baylor?

Yeah, as much as I think Flacco is middle of the pack when it comes to QB talent, he does seem to ball out once the playoffs hit....especially the one year they made it.

One of the things I like about having that top pick in the 2nd round is that people are going to fall to the 2nd round that weren't supposed to. Someone is going to fall in love with a player on that second day and either want to move up to 32 or the Browns can just stay put & draft someone they love. That would be the spot to trade down a few spots and pick up another 3rd rounder or maybe another 1st in 2017.

^^^^even more so....wouldn't it be great if we trade down and get an extra pick? This is a luxury if Mack stays put...a necessity if he bolts.

I am curious when the release and trade opens up again in the league.

We may have a QB before we draft one. Remember, we lead the league in 5'11 receivers. We need the QB of the future someone to throw to.

Trade down with the 32nd pick, not the 2nd unless they know their QB will be there.

On a side note, f#ck Michael Irvin. And Doug Gottlieb from CBS Sports can join him.

Lol police report said Manziels crazy gf said that Johnny hit her repeatedly and said he would kill himself and them both.

Don't let the door hit you on the way out Johnny. So we getting on the Goff train or the Wentz wagon?

Explains the helicopter and Sashi Brown making the quick "he's done here" comments earlier in the week.

If these allegations are true, I guess there's no wonder Manziel wears the #2....total piece of shit.

    Then I recall this:
Footwedge;1764755 wrote: And then, like clockwork, The Rizzo show was playing "Fact or Fiction". The statement was "Johnny will be the starter in next year's opener". 3 out of 4, including Jizzo said fiction...no way. LOLOL. Not only will Johnny be the starter next near, but he will be the starter here for the next decade, unless Haslam says fuck these idiots in Cleveland and moves the team to Los Angeles. If he does, I wouldn't blame him one bit. Unlike in 95 when the wretched Art Modell did his thing, if they moved the team now I would completely understand the whys and really wouldn't give 2 shits.

And we haven't heard from FW since the KC game to talk up his boy.

After digesting this a little more, I'd say they are both batshit crazy and deserve each other (Manziel and his GF).

They interviewed Manziel''s dad and he said something to the effect of "we're trying to get Johnny better but we're not quite there yet." His own DAD knows he has issues but clowns like Deion Sanders are completely blaming the girlfriend. Michael Irvin is making it seem like it's the Browns fault.

Brandon Marshall may have said the smartest thing when he said Manziel needs to "step away from football and get himself right" (or something similar).

Yes, they (JFF & his GF) have a very toxic relationship but I doubt it's the girlfriend urging him to dress up in disguises and go to Vegas, etc.

I'm just glad that in a little over a month he will no longer be Cleveland's problem.

Deion Sanders and Michael Irvin...you have to consider the sources. Both great players but neither without their own garbage.

You know it's bad when they interview Ryan Leaf on his opinion of Manziel and Leaf says "it's like looking in a mirror." Yikes.
  • Heretic
Manziel does deserve some credit. I was just on Yahoo Sports on their NFL page and with the Super Bowl only 2 days away, the top four headlines were all Manziel-related (agent dumping him, column on how teams will look at him as an undesirable liability, no charges filed against him, father saying he thinks he'll die soon unless he gets help).

It takes effort to steal headlines away from the Super Bowl, but he's done it!

^^^^yeah, the helicopter thing reminded me of OJ.

    LOL.
I was one of his biggest advocates, but, like a lot of others, the shit surrounding the final game was the last straw. JFF may be a great athlete.. Even a great QB( debatable)... But if he doesn't take care of himself it won't be long before even that leaves him. Right now he's in freefall… He's going to have to hit bottom before anything changes.

I was excited when he was drafted because of the hype. Hell, I even bought one of those t-shirt jerseys. Now, I think it might be best to burn it as I don't think I'd want to give it to the Salvation Army and have some poor homeless guy being associated with that mess.

Did anyone see Haslam is asking the state of Ohio to pay $5 million for him to build a practice facility for the Browns in Columbus?

This guy has got some awful big balls.

5 of the 15 million. I'd assume this isn't unusual. Columbus obviously wants the camp or it wouldn't have been talked about for 3 years.
  • Sonofanump
I assumed this project was going to be attached to a small football school like Ohio Dominican, Capital, or Otterbein.
  • iclfan2
I didn't see anywhere that Haslam asked anyone to pay. A group of Columbus leaders are trying to get it tax funded for kids to use the other 11 months. Seems like a troll post.

Also, the Columbus group said they planned to have it near OSU.

^^^This. The package to lure the Browns down there includes $5 million in tax money., but it wasn't a demand or proposal by Haslam.

The mess surrounding JFF continues to fester, with the police re-opening the domestic violence investigation. His agent has dropped him, and his father made a statement to the effect that he was worried that Johnny "might not live to see his 24th birthday". It was reported that the Browns have been trying to help/contact him to no avail.
