That was an interesting read. Hopefully this team got it right with HC/Moneyball. I prob said this last time with Pett, but I'm hopeful.BR1986FB;1778191 wrote:Interesting interview with Dansby...

I don't think Pettine was ready plus he was too stubborn/loyal to O'Neil. Didn't help that he had that crap sandwich Farmer selecting players (Bowe) for him.Commander of Awesome;1778193 wrote:Derpmur Ball!

Yep, O'Niel should have been gone or at the very least Ptett get on his ass about his shitty def. Much like RAC, Petty Pett was doomed the minute he started chirping thinking he knows more about the draft than the experts. With RAC it was Wimpy over Ngata, with Petty it was Gilbert over Mack/ODJ/Verrett. SMDHBR1986FB;1778198 wrote:I don't think Pettine was ready plus he was too stubborn/loyal to O'Neil. Still pisses me off that we traded out of a position to take Mack.Commander of Awesome;1778204 wrote:Yep, O'Niel should have been gone or at the very least Ptett get on his ass about his shitty def. All very believable too. You could tell the team was trying to stay focused while the internal struggle went out, but it just overcame the team. I think this upcoming season will be a breath of fresh air for everybody that is a part of the organization.BR1986FB;1778191 wrote:Interesting interview with Dansby...

I like the fact that Hue has the "win now" mentality even though they might suck. Pettine came in with the "we want to win now....but" and turned out to be full of excuses toward the end, blaming it on the players, etc while not giving his coaches any shit.like_that;1778239 wrote:All very believable too. Pretty damning pwn from Kruger. -
BR1986FBGood to see this group of Browns coaches/front office isn't so arrogant that they can at least attend the Senior Bowl.
-
Lovejoy1984I've seen a few reports that Wentz had looked amazing, and has over taken Goff in the eyes of many scouts

Wentz knows he has to kill it at the Senior Bowl to make up for the lack of competition he faced. Him doing so under that pressure would be a major positive for his stock.HighRoller74;1778438 wrote:I've seen a few reports that Wentz had looked amazing, and has over taken Goff in the eyes of many scouts
I'm definitely going to be paying attention to as many of the scouting reports coming out of Mobile this week on the QBs as possible. -
Commander of AwesomeMKC is saying she's been told the Browns should take Wentz at #2 by ppl down in Mobile.

Have heard comparisons as a "poor man's Roethlisberger" minus the fat & rapeyness, of course.HighRoller74;1778438 wrote:I've seen a few reports that Wentz had looked amazing, and has over taken Goff in the eyes of many scouts -

Saw a paper out of Dallas saying he could be the Cowboys target at #4. Poor Johnny....LOLCommander of Awesome;1778468 wrote:MKC is saying she's been told the Browns should take Wentz at #2 by ppl down in Mobile. -

See. I told you someone will emerge. We now have two qbs to do our research on and decide who will be the better QB.HighRoller74;1778438 wrote:I've seen a few reports that Wentz had looked amazing, and has over taken Goff in the eyes of many scouts
Whatever their decision, it better be one of these two at #2. -
shook_17I'm torn on Wentz. Dude scares me from being from D2. But I trust hue. And that's the first time I've been able to say that about a coach in a long time. Just whoever the qb is. They start from day one.

Azubuike24Not D2.
He played at an FCS school that would probably beat 25-50% of FBS schools.
HUGE difference. Joe Flacco played at Delaware. -
Crimson streakWatched some of the practice today. Wentz can really throw the football. Has some mechanics to clean up a bit but can easily be coached. The thing that intrigues me about him is the NFL type offense he ran at NDST. Very talented kid

I could be missing someone, but I recall 2 non-FBS quarterbacks that were drafted highly, and both of them have been/were successful, with Joe Flacco and Steve McNair. Also, Romo was an FCS QB I believe. I think a high understanding of the QB position is more meaningful than the level of competition at the two levels.Azubuike24;1778548 wrote:Not D2.

BR1986FBDustin Fox (92.3) is in Mobile and he spoke with someone "in the know" about the Browns last year.
He wouldn't divulge the sources name but said he was "100% sure the source was correct" so I'm assuming it was someone in scouting, etc.
Anyhow, this person told Fox that the decision to draft Manziel was "100% Farmer's decision" (no Haslam involvement). Farmer walked around the facility telling people JFF was going to be "Russell Wilson on steroids."
The worst part? There was majority "infighting" lobbying heavily for Derek Carr but Farmer overruled them.
Not shocking to hear this but interesting to hear most wanted Carr. -
BR1986FBOMG....this is fan-friggin-tastic. FW probably started a petition to have it taken down.
