2016 Browns Season Thread

Pittsburgh can win this week in either fashion. If they want to run, the Browns won't stop them. If they want to pass, the Browns won't stop them. The Browns D is pretty bad, all around.Ironman92;1772165 wrote:I looked back at BR was saying just line up and run and didn't see anything (in first few pages) about throwing to beat them.
And Austin Davis isn't beating anyone. I agree that JFF opened up the running game. It's been improved the last few times he's started. -

Con_AlmaIs Mr. Manziel likely done in Cleveland?
Flip him for a 5th or 6th round draft pick?

friendfromlowryThe "Pettine will be fired" storyline continuing to pick up steam:

And this makes the most sense considering that it's been out there that Farmer is gone when the season is over. It just doesn't make sense to fire the GM and force a HC on the new GM who isn't his guy. More times than not, it doesn't work.friendfromlowry;1772486 wrote:The "Pettine will be fired" storyline continuing to pick up steam:

Just can't fathom how this is a good idea. Every time they do this it's more and more difficult to bring in someone better for cheaper. -
Lovejoy1984Manziel supposedly spotted out partying in Las Vegas tonight....smh.

Firing two people who are awful at their jobs seems like a good idea to me.friendfromlowry;1772598 wrote:Man, taking all the suspense out of it.

Midstate01It's insane how bad journalism is getting. Mary Kay runs with a rumor. Started on twitter by a waitress who thought she saw him and posted it on twitter. Later USA today ran the story. LITERALLY NO proof he was or wasn't there, yet story printed because they don't worry about rep and get tons of clicks.
All while if you actually searched twitter at the time the rumors started( I did)
There were people posting about him being at Melt in Cleveland, a couple hours before those rumors of Vegas started. -

Agreed.SportsAndLady;1772604 wrote:Firing two people who are awful at their jobs seems like a good idea to me.
You don't stay the course for continuity just to keep continuity. These guys flat out suck at their jobs. Farmer is one of the worst talent evaluators they've had since the return and Pettine's defenses have been at the bottom of the heap.
Bring in a new GM, who will hire his own guy, and go from there. -
friendfromlowry
My point was poorly worded. Idk if Pettine and/or Farmer are the right guys for the job. What I was questioning was firing someone so often. This will be the fifth time since 2008? I think it sets a bad precedent. Already has, actually.SportsAndLady;1772604 wrote:Firing two people who are awful at their jobs seems like a good idea to me. -

Con_AlmaSounds like they want the OC from Chicago.

Lovejoy1984
I saw that as well, I give it a slightly above 0% chance. But it cant hurt the team swinging for the fences.Con_Alma;1772634 wrote:Sounds like they want the OC from Chicago.
