Well, besides the Rodgers comment. I think Rodgers could win more than 1 game, especially against the Steelers backups. -

Surprisingly the browns are #16. You have to imagine that Erving alone dropped them 5 spots. -

I just disagree. Obviously the Rodgers comparison is an exaggeration, but he'd not look nearly like he does now. I don't think it's worth it to draft a QB at 1 or 12 with this group that is out there. The Browns keep doing the same thing with drafting these QB's in the 1st and they're busts because they either sucked to begin with because our talent evaluation is awful (most likely case) or because they have literally 0.2 seconds to throw. If there's a sure fire #1`QB then I'm all for it...but this doesn't seem like a strong class at all.SportsAndLady;1832348 wrote:Hasn't Rodgers had a shitty line almost his entire career (outside of this year where they've been pretty good)? Including the year he won the super bowl?
That's a pretty asinine comment. If we get an elite QB, we don't NEED a Dallas Cowboys line to do well.
However, if we get a Dallas Cowboys line, we still need a decent QB to do well.
I'll take the QB at 1 or 12. -

I can't get link to load on my phone...but I'm assuming they're combining both pass & run blocking? Browns line is decent at run blocking, were much better at the beginning of the year. Pass blocking is the major problem.like_that;1832359 wrote:https://www.profootballfocus.com/pro-ranking-all-32-nfl-offensive-lines-this-season/

You're actually completely wrong on this. The Browns online was solid in Pass Protection, like middle of the pack. The issue was our shit QBs holding on to the ball forever, running into pressure when there was no need, etc....Benny The Jet;1832366 wrote:I can't get link to load on my phone...but I'm assuming they're combining both pass & run blocking? Wow, you think our oline was solid? I know nothing I say will change your mind...but that blows my mind that people watched 16 games of the Browns and went "Hey, that line is pretty solid!".Commander of Awesome;1832377 wrote:You're actually completely wrong on this. 12th pick for MitchBenny The Jet;1832341 wrote:Drafted in the 20's/2nd round? Sure. Or were you wanting to spend the 1st or 12th on him? -

I think it's a case of a line only being as strong as its weakest link. If they can replace Erving with above average production, I think the line would have been solid. Bitonio will be back next year, so they probably could slide Greco to center.Benny The Jet;1832380 wrote:Wow, you think our oline was solid? Lol the qbs we've drafted have just sucked. That's it. They don't suck because our offensive line sucks. Stop dodging our problem. We haven't been able to draft a decent QB. Has NOTHING to do with the offensive line. If these qbs were decent, they'd go be decent somewhere else. Everyone is either out of the league (McCoy, manziel, Quinn, etc.) or 3rd string (weeden).Benny The Jet;1832363 wrote:I just disagree. And I keep repeating this, can we see how these QB's grade out at combines, pro-day's, etc before we anoint this a weak QB class? Please? -

Numbers don't lie. Also, Brent Sobleski (Great follow on Twitter, used to write for ESPN and USA Today) has been beating this drum all season. When I see Josh McClown holding on to the ball for 5+ seconds when it's supposed to be a 3 step drop, or RG3's complete failure to step up into the pocket and instead run to the side of the pressure, I see where they're coming from. So yes, while I didn't watch all 16 games this season (first time I've said that since '99) I do think the line was solid or avg.Benny The Jet;1832380 wrote:Wow, you think our oline was solid? Bitpwnio has been injured for 2 straight years now. I do not want to rely on him sadly.like_that;1832384 wrote:I think it's a case of a line only being as strong as its weakest link. Crimson streakI saw an article about the possibility the browns could trade up and get the 1st and 2nd pick. It would be pretty awesome to get both Allen and Garrett. But I'd rather trade up for a qb if need be

What picks would it take to move up to #2? 12th and our 2nd?Crimson streak;1832501 wrote:I saw an article about the possibility the browns could trade up and get the 1st and 2nd pick. It would be pretty awesome to get both Allen and Garrett. But I'd rather trade up for a qb if need be

I'd definitely lean this way. This team isn't 1 player away, they need to use their picks and actually hit on them. Unless 2 guys absolutely blow them away...I think they should keep their picks.sleeper;1832547 wrote:No. -

like_thatFor fucks sake, the nerdy saber metrics front office isn't going to throw away every draft pick just to draft two guys. Time to move on from that fail speculation.

Oh I agree 100% it was interesting to say the least. No way they do it. I could see them moving up though from the 12 spot to possibly 8-9 depending how the draft goes and if a qb is there they really likelike_that;1832561 wrote:For fucks sake, the nerdy saber metrics front office isn't going to throw away every draft pick just to draft two guys. Also throwing in, I'm still in favor of Jimmy G. Give me Garrett and Jimmy G.Crimson streak;1832501 wrote:I saw an article about the possibility the browns could trade up and get the 1st and 2nd pick. SportsAndLadySeeing a few mocks this morning with the Browns taking M Garrett at 1 and then Dalvin Cook, the RB out of fsu, at 12.
I'm not a big believer in RBs this early in drafts..but we do need some explosiveness in our offense and cook can catch out of the backfield (a must have in today's NFL). I'd be okay with those two picks. -

Crow and Duke are just fine, Hue has to keep running them. We have bigger fish than fry than a fucking RB, come on S&L use your head.
