You are thinking of Ben Broussard :D

Heard Antonetti said recently that they "wouldn't part with any of their starting pitching or Carlos Santana" this offseason. Dude just doesn't get it. I like the rotation a lot but there's an old saying that "you've got to spend money to make money."

Now we all know the Dolan's aren't actually going to spend but in this case, talent is "money." I'm not saying get rid of their top starter for a mediocre stick but this team is THAT close to being where they need to be with a legit hitter.

I've been hearing a lot abut Todd fraiser, Chris Davis and Freddie freeman

Give me Frazier. We have enough LH hitters. I'd take them, but would prefer the righty stick.

I also am perfectly content with them not dealing any of our starters. Unless it was for someone like Bryant (I don't believe those rumors from this year for Carrasco...but I'd do that deal).

What would the Tribe have that they would give up for Frazier? The Reds want ML ready talent.

Also, looks like they won't get a big bat in the FA market.

Realistically, the Indians are going to have to go outside the organization to fortify the outfield. They are plenty of good to great outfielders available through free agency, but we've all been through this drill before.

Players such as Alex Gordon, Yoenis Cespedes and Dexter Fowler could solve the Tribe's problems, but they're too expensive and they have draft-pick compensation tied to them.
Players such as Austin Jackson, Gerardo Parra, Steve Pearce, Chris B. Young, Nori Aoki, Chris Denorfia and David DeJesus are more in the Indians' wheelhouse, but nothing is expected to happen until December or January after the market thins.

Brett Gardner to the Tribe for either Carrasco or Salazar?

Besides the Yankees, have also heard the Tribe has been in discussions with the Blue Jays (no clue) and Dodgers (Puig).

I wouldn't do that. Gardner is 32, has a bad contract, and doesn't provide the power we need in the middle of the lineup.

LOL...the Yankees would love to do that...the Tribe, not so much.

I really have no issue moving Salazar but I think Carrasco can be downright filthy. Wouldn't do it for a 32 year old outfielder though.

Kevin Pillar is who they want from the Jays. So lets see...Pillar, Puig, or Gardner...2 of the 3 would be great...so well get Gardner Im sure
  • Laley23
I'd love Puig! But not sure I'd give up our staters for him. 2 years ago yes, but either the league has caught up to him or he has a lot of injuries that he is playing through. Either way, he has regressed enough, you can probably get him for cheaper than Salazar.
  • like_that
Every year is the same shit with all the rumors, and nothing happens.
  • HitsRus
I don't want to give up Salazar for Gardener.
I don't want to give up Carrasco for anything but a knock your socks off deal...he has a team friendly contract.

Puig may be available...especially after this....but does Tito want him?

That clubhouse NEEDS a new Joey Belle. ;)
  • HitsRus
....just off the top of my head (without looking closer), a Salazar for Puig deal intrigues me enough to not reject it out of hand.
  • Laley23
Anyone know when the schedule is typically released??
  • HitsRus
2016 Schedule has been out for awhile. Spring training schedule to be released soon if it is not already out

Didnt even think to look yet. Thanks.

Sounds like the Tribe signed Joba "The Hutt" Chamberlain to a 1 year "prove it" deal. I'm sure those midges down at the Jake are licking their chops.
  • Con_Alma
It's just a minor league contract. No big risk there at all.
  • BR1986FB
After the brass said "none of the starters are available for trade", the D-Backs reached out to the Tribe wanting Salazar. The Tribe asked for AJ Pollock in return so the D-Backs made a deal with the Braves instead.

Sounds like they have spoken to 20+ teams regarding 25 players but nothing done yet.

And Gomez. I would love that deal.

Just saw reds in talks with Indians about Todd Frazier. I'd be so bummed to see him anywhere but Cincinnati.... but I've been begging the reds to get younger talent and rebuild, so I guess I can't be a hypocrite.
