I'll give you Kyrie (because he resigned before LBJ committed to return)but Lebron was one of the driving forces (recruiting) for Love to come here, triggering the Wiggins trade. If anyone thinks that TT didn't get all that money, in part, because he's LBJ's "bud", they're fooling themselves. I don't know whether LBJ had a hand in Mo coming here but Lebron is the reason Gilbert's shelling out all of this money. My comments really had nothing to do with others stepping up.Commander of Awesome;1758428 wrote:I'm actually putting this all on Kyrie, TT, Love, and Mo. LBJ has proven he can do what it takes to win a championship. Gilbert has put them on the team with the best player in NBA history, and paid them all to perform. LBJ did his part. Time for the others to step the fuck up. -

So would you rather go back to 2 seasons ago, lebron doesn't come to cavs and we are maybe looking at first round exit in the playoffs? I don't get your approach here. It's a good roster. Unless Lebron completely is a pile of shit and single handedly loses the cavs a title, they only way i see the cavs losing is 1. they aren't healthy and 2. they simply didn't get it done as a team. If it's one of those two, my initial thoughts arent going to be "ZOMG this is all on bitch boy lebron!" I am a big critic of Lebron too. I still think he is a little passive aggressive douche.BR1986FB;1758434 wrote:I'll give you Kyrie (because he resigned before LBJ committed to return)but Lebron was one of the driving forces (recruiting) for Love to come here, triggering the Wiggins trade. He's not saying that. He's saying Lebron is going to be Lebron in April. The cavs will win or lose depending on how the supporting cast plays (and if they can stay fucking healthy).BR1986FB;1758434 wrote:I'll give you Kyrie (because he resigned before LBJ committed to return)but Lebron was one of the driving forces (recruiting) for Love to come here, triggering the Wiggins trade. Not what I'm saying at all. What I am saying is that a few of these players were "luxuries/expensive toys" for him to play with. TT isn't a necessity but he got paid, mainly because he's "buds" with LBJ and they share the same agent. TT doesn't sniff that kind of $$ anywhere else but here. Love was recruited by LBJ and they dumped Wiggins (I thought it was a good move, unlike some, but he looks like he has a bright future).
What I'm saying is that if these pieces (Love trade, TT extension) don't equate to a ring, Lebron has his hand picked "fingerprints" all over this roster. If they fail, he will shoulder a lot of the blame and I doubt it's due to his on the court performance. -
lhslep134
If the only person blaming him is you, then your argument doesn't hold much water. The blame for the Cavs not winning the title would fall solely on the on-court performance of the team, like everyone else is saying, except you.BR1986FB;1758449 wrote: If they fail, he will shoulder a lot of the blame and I doubt it's due to his on the court performance.
No one cares about "Lebron's hand picked toys" because NEWS FLASH: WE HAVE THE BEST ROSTER IN THE LEAGUE WHEN HEALTHY. -

What he's getting at is that the fault would somehow fall, off the court, on the best player in the world for helping bring in the most talented roster in the league.ernest_t_bass;1758464 wrote:No, not really. I just said I understand what he's getting at. I DRGAF either way.
That's dumb no matter which way you spin it.
The fault will unequivocally fall on the on-court production of the team. No ifs, ands, or buts about that. -

SportsAndLadyIt's almost like BR is saying if the cavs don't win, he'll blame Lebron for putting together the team. At least that's what I'm getting..? I honestly have no clue. He's somehow annoyed that the cavs gave TT his contract even though it really doesn't handcuff them too much and is well within their means and limits to offer. I don't know.

All you need to know butt munch is that TT will...per minute, make at least 50% more per minute than LeBron will...provided K Love, Mosgov and Andy stay healthy. I know the numbers are difficult to comprehend for you, but young clowns can't do math in their head. And if you want to make a large wager on this...let's go. Thompson will be lucky to play 20 minutes per game if Andy stays healthy. Say what you want, but a healthy Andy is > TT.Al Bundy;1758475 wrote:Now you will have Footwedge trying to divide by 0. Gkilbert grossly over paid for TT...not that it matters. He'll just bump the HARP Quicken Loans rate a point or 2. LOL. Either taht. or he'll bump the rake at the casino. -

LeBrons salary this year 23,000,000 rounded.Footwedge;1758515 wrote:All you need to know butt munch is that TT will...per minute, make at least 50% more per minute than LeBron will...provided K Love, Mosgov and Andy stay healthy. TT salary this year 14,000,000 rounded.
If LBJ plays slightly more minutes (2500) this year, than he did last he would roughly make 9200 per minute.
If, TT plays slightly less minutes this year(2000), than he did last he would roughly make 7000 per minute.
If, TT plays 20 minutes per game this year (1600) he would roughly make 8750 per minute.
Now I'm no mathematician, but, neither of those numbers are More than the 9200, let alone 50% more.
In fact, the only way that TT would reach 50% more per minute than LeBron(13800) is if he plays 12 minutes a game. -

Who gives a shit? It didn't come out of your checkbook so fuck off. Is this like an old guy thing where they think they're financially responsible for how the Cavs spend their money?Footwedge;1758515 wrote:All you need to know butt munch is that TT will...per minute, make at least 50% more per minute than LeBron will...provided K Love, Mosgov and Andy stay healthy. I think this is the part where you're fooling yourself. Some slob team like Detroit or Sacramento would offer him whatever he wants because they don't have a shot at the excellent players.BR1986FB;1758449 wrote:What I am saying is that a few of these players were "luxuries/expensive toys" for him to play with. Lord, that sounds more like an Iqqy complaint than anything else. Of the "everyone seems happy, so I'll just make shit up to be a Debbie Downer" vein. Except you can tell it's Foot and not Iqqy because he tried to do math and immediately got his numbers shot all to fuck by someone else. Which likely will be followed by Old Man Ranting about stat eggheads and nerds ruining sports. -

This is true. You saw that to a strong degree with Sacramento. No one wants to play there because the organization is a mess, so they go all out to essentially go all-in on guys who aren't max-contract guys, but who might sign with them for a max contract. Except if memory serves, guys were taking less money just to not be a King.friendfromlowry;1758525 wrote:I think this is the part where you're fooling yourself. No. I want them to win it all but, either way, it's not going to change my life. I'm glad he's back. All I'm saying is that if he doesn't bring a championship, and they are handcuffed with contracts (no cap flexibility), he's going to take a lot of shit for it (hooking up his buddies and not delivering) from a lot of the fan base.SportsAndLady;1758486 wrote:It's almost like BR is saying if the cavs don't win, he'll blame Lebron for putting together the team. You keep harping about his buddies, but really, TT and to an extent JJ are the only real "buddies" on this team. It'd be different if they were stuck with a bunch of scrubs (Donyelle Marshall, Damon Jones, Ben Gordon, Larry Hughes, Jamison, etc.) Fact of the matter is they have 3 of the top 20-25 players in the league, with a solid group of role players mixed in.
To have that kind of talent you're gonna have to pay the players. I'm not an indians fan, but as someone mentioned above, you guys have dealt with an owner who'd rather create stars, then deal them off for more lottery tickets, instead of just paying them. To have an owner willingly spend cash, regardless on if the Cavs win the title or not, is refreshing. -
