2015-2016 Cleveland Cavaliers World Champions!

  • like_that
Some great stats I am hearing this morning. In 7 playoff games the cavs staters have our scored Warriors starters by 47. Warriors bench has out scored the cavs by 98...

Channing frye took one fucking shot meanwhile kyrie took 32. He was 1 for 9 when he didn't pass the ball once. 0 for 6 with Lebron on the floor. Why the fuck did we revert back to the regular season David blatt iso cavs? Lue can't let them revert to their bad old habits. He also needs to trust his guys outside of kyrie and Lebron. Just because frye missed one shot doesn't mean he shouldn't get any more looks.

GS bench outscores Cavs bench 45-10...inexcusable, and the sole reason they were blown out.

When the lead change exchange happened in the 3rd.....and they went from 1 up to 12 down, as soon as that happened. LeBron should have taken the game over. Not Irving, not Love, Lebron. When it started getting out of hand again, our all world, all league all star, should have saw, WELL, our 3 point dagger all off season isnt hitting, our slasher inside threat isnt getting his out of control finger rolls to drop, he should have tried to take the game over.

If THAT didnt work, he should have went into the post game and said, I tried my best.

Being THAT far down and coming back after halftime, your all world player needs to take over if the wheels come off. While the wheels came off in that 3rd quarter, he let Irving shoot more than I could imagine, and facilitated to make everyone happy. At least Love was hitting shots so we didnt get beat by 40. Irving only scored because he was at the line.

Take over a game, own it, he wants to emerge from Jordan's shadow so badly, just DO it.....or so they say.
I'm pretty sure LeBron was sitting next to Lue on the bench during most of GS's run that allowed them to take control of the game back. I completely agree that LeBron shouldn't settle for outside shots, and should be more assertive overall at key moments, but they were in a deep hole before he could really do anything about it.

The role players need to start getting the job done, and both LeBron and Kyrie need to be more efficient on the offensive end. More motion and less isolation. Standing around and letting Kyrie dribble or LeBron go one-on-one allows GS to collapse their entire defense.

I agree with this completely. At the end of the day, (all day, every day) Lebron will take the heat when his team gets beat. This is HIS team. Guys can bitch all they want, but they don't carry the weight that he does.

that 4th quarter was brutal to watch. GSW bench seemed like they were unstoppable (I haven't looked to see if that statement is statistically accurate, but it sure seemed like they were everywhere last night), and several Cavs were just cold. Hopefully the Cavs can come out strong on sunday. I don't like anyone's chances overcoming a 2-0 deficit to this GSW team.

LeBron is 9-0 in game 2 when he loses game 1. Hope that continues.

I never knew how good they were at swiping and stealing on people driving to the hoop. Iguodala seemed like he had 4 in a row on Lebron or Kyrie when they'd drive, he'd swipe down on the ball and knock it off their leg. And it was always clean.

They definitely were not all clean.

Cavs are fine. Yes we got blown out but that's the reality when your entire bench doesn't show up and JR is barely breathing in the game.

They played extremely good defense against Klay and Curry and it seems their game plan is to let the reserves beat them. Well, it just so happens that the reserves played out of their mind while the Cavs reserve shit the bed entirely.

I expect a Game 2 win and a sweep in Cleveland. Hopefully the Cavs can win their Game 6 at home unlike CHOKC.

Also should be comforting to know that Love decided to show up in the Finals. This will be good for us over a 7-game series.

Frankly, we need more out of Lebron(and yes, I'm aware he was 1 assist shy of a triple double).

Kyrie needs to not revert to the Kyrie of a few months ago. When he's not hitting he's horrible.

Also simply put the Cavs shot 38% and with 15 turnovers. A lot of these misses were bunnies. I counted 5 missed layups in the 4th. That's 10 points.

    That will not happen again.

BTW since most of you are plebs who don't understand basketball, the Cavs defensive strategy is entirely based on stopping Curry/Thompson. Every time Curry rotates off a screen, the Cavs are giving him a clean shoulder/elbow. I wouldn't be surprised at all if Curry gets a few T's or flagrants from retaliating on those bumps. You can tell he was extremely frustrated in that style of defense and I don't see the Cavs changing up the game plan.

Curry does not like physicality. Good on Lue for recognizing this and building a game plan around it.

Any solid game plan is put together to take out the best player or two of your opponent and make the rest of the team beat ya. Last night the rest of the Warriors were better than the rest of the Cavs.

This is what makes a series interesting as now we see how each team responds to said strategies.

Delly will be suspended rest of finals for his sacktap on Iggy. That clearly was intentional. /Silver

    Agreed.

First Irving pulled him down and then impeded Green's leg motion forward with his chest.

That's not exactly true. Most teams don't laser lock players in the NBA because everyone is an NBA player and can have a big night. This strategy essentially banks on allowing the role players, who aren't as consistent as super stars, to miss shots at a greater clip.

Last night, the Cavs executed the game plan they brought in; except the role players played above their expectation and the Cavs role players did nothing. I wouldn't change a thing from last night except to hit your damn shots and make your bunnies.

Agree. Any time your plan holds Curry and Thompson to 20 you have to like your chances. Think they were held to that amount or less 3 times now and lost the other two.

On the flipside though, GS has to be tickled they won with those two scoring so little.

As you eloquently state, time will tell.

I don't expect Curry or Thompson to get over 40+ ppg between them in this series and I don't expect freaking Shaun Livingston to be relevant either.

The reality is, we hit shots at 45% and we are up 1-0. Also need to shoot more 3's especially from JR. Hitting 3's opens the game up for Lebron/Irving to just go HAM in the paint.

Eh, I bet they get 40+ combined in at least half the games in the series
