Will Brady be punished?
-
Laley234 games is what I expected. Appealed down to 2, probably.
The NFL seems to have treated this more like Sean Payton. The lying that he had no knowledge seems to be the bigger crime than the actual crime. The NFL has shown through the years it hates liars more than cheats lol. -

You've proven you actually don't know how it works in the NFL.Footwedge;1728244 wrote:Star quarterback gets 4 games. A Bryan Hoyer would be banned for life. That's the way it works in the NFL. -

Well, Wedge...I guess it's a push between you and me. You said a full season, and I said 1 game....1/4 of what you thought...4X what I thought. -

Did he play with blisters/sores from swinging a club so much?Cluelessposter58;1728230 wrote:Back in high school we played in a golf tournament out in Huron in late September and it was pretty damn cold. Anyways this kid in my group went to get something out of his bag and hand warmers fell out of his ball pouch. Upon seeing that a kid in our group immediately got a coach and the kid was kicked out of the tournament as well as next two matches. Point is he actually played the game knowingly breaking the rules and you have to drop the hammer on that as nothing is more compromising -

They also said that Brady was uncooperative in terms of turning over electronic media/other things that might have helped support his assertion that he didn't know anything. Also cited was the Patriot's past history of cheating.Laley23;1728245 wrote:4 games is what I expected. Appealed down to 2, probably.

HitsRusBrady says he will fight it and appeal.
-
wildcats20He will "win" the appeal and have it knocked down to 2 games, most likely.
Which is still 2 too many games. -

In the NCAA they can have the ball inflated up to 13.5. Not sure if NFL is different.wildcats20;1728222 wrote:
Aaron Rodgers has openly and publicly admitted to having his footballs overinflated. What will his suspension be? -
TiernanTotal BS. Brady and the Patriots are to be celebrated as the only team pushing the joke that is what the NFL has become under the idiot Goodell. The owner of the Cleveburgh Clowns is a convicted con artist and yet no suspension. Brady is only "strongly suspected" ...sorry assholes, that don't make you guilty in America.
-
sportchamppsI do t think he should be suspended unless they have actual proof. Goodell does whatever the fuck he wants with no reasoning
-
SportsAndLadyEveryone knows Brady had those balls deflated. That goat cuddling douche deserves everything he gets.

No keep going. The entertainment, as far as comparisons go, is immense. I mean, holy fuck.like_that;1728239 wrote:I stopped reading there. You must really enjoy looking like a dumbass. -

And for more entertainment. And truth. Fuck the Pats, but fuck Goodell. -

I agree, but I don't think a 4 game suspension keeps them out of the playoffs, which is what really matters.sportchampps;1728262 wrote:I do t think he should be suspended unless they have actual proof. Goodell does whatever the fuck he wants with no reasoning
Also saw this and I don't think the punishment fits the crime, especially since they brought up spygate, how can you punish a team again for something they were already punished for?
http://espn.go.com/blog/new-england-patriots/post/_/id/4781318/quick-hit-thoughts-around-the-patriotsWhy do I think this has been made to be a bigger deal than it is? I go back to the Vikings-Panthers game from November, with teams illegally heating footballs on the sideline and simply getting a warning from the NFL, and wonder how we got to this point with the Patriots and underinflated footballs. I go back to the Chargers using an illegal sticky substance on towels in 2012 and getting fined $25,000, and likewise wonder how we got to this point with the Patriots and underinflated footballs. Put the three situations together and only one requires a full-fledged investigation that will cost owners millions of dollars? In the interest of fairness, what am I missing? Add in comments from Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers about his preference for overinflated footballs, and this New York Times story on Eli Manning and his football preparation, and it just seems we've gone off the rails here. -

Agreed and, of course, which is one of the games he will be suspended for? The season opener against who? How convenient.....wildcats20;1728253 wrote:He will "win" the appeal and have it knocked down to 2 games, most likely.

Laley23I still think it's pretty clear they (Brady) were punished for lying and not being cooperative in the investigation.

Why wasn't Gotskowski suspended for not giving up his phone and cooperating in the investigation? The NFL doesn't have subpoena power, he didn't have to give up his phone.Laley23;1728290 wrote:I still think it's pretty clear they (Brady) were punished for lying and not being cooperative in the investigation. -

Implied guilt. Guess it's kinda like someone refusing to blow at a DUI checkpoint. Not doing it implies the guilt.Raw Dawgin' it;1728292 wrote:Why wasn't Gotskowski suspended for not giving up his phone and cooperating in the investigation? I agree he didn't have to give up his phone but you know old Goodell makes up the rules as he goes. -

It implies nothing. It's his personal phone, I wouldn't give up mine either. Lets compare this to Ray Rice punching his wife and Brett Favre sending dick pics and sexually harassing massage therapists. Rice got 2 games and Favre was fined with no suspension. It's implied that Brady knew and he gets 4 games, plus $1m fine and 2 draft picks? GTFO.BR1986FB;1728293 wrote:Implied guilt. Guess it's kinda like someone refusing to blow at a DUI checkpoint. There was PROOF of Rice and Favre...there's no proof with Brady. -
SportsAndLadyAh I see the resident Pats fan has showed up butthurt.
The pats have always been cheaters. They've always toed the line of "is it cheating or not cheating?" Boo fucking hoo that you're just now being punished.

Patriots could start 0-4 and still make the playoffs. All that matters. My point is, the punishment doesn't fit the findings, especially compared to other incidents.SportsAndLady;1728295 wrote:Ah I see the resident Pats fan has showed up butthurt.
