So stupid. Just play for the field goal.

I think that was the first time I've heard Freeney's name called in Arizona.

Yes, not many good outcomes of that play considering time left. Only outcomes that is good is a TD. Have to strive for a neutral play unless the defense messes up and gives a TD. A strip or a sack is instant loss.

    Good game

Crazy to think the Steelers beat the Cardinals by 12 with Vick and Landry Jones as the QBs for the game

Game tying, but yeah, that's bad.

I don't agree with that. Go for the win, but you have to know the consequences. If it's not there, it's not there, and you must be aware of the pocket and get rid of the ball if needed.

He has had a few moments this year. Believe he sacked Dalton on SNF. I've heard him called a few times where his spin move just destroyed the defender...but few and far between.

Fair enough. If they had at least one timeout, I'd agree with playing it aggressively. Arizona's defense is so good, I don't like testing them in that scenario. But if I'm Minnesota do I feel confident going against them in overtime? Probably not.

Game was already tied. They needed to run clock and kick the eventual game winner, which they did, but the 8 yd loss was really, really counter productive, and they able to deal with it, get the much longer FG, and hold on defense even though they allowed Minn more time than they would have if they'd have run the ball 3 times, and maybe even got a 1st down and completely ran the clock dry on the FG.

Jesus, I am an idiot. Was thinking about that play, but mixing it up with the Minny drive lol. Correct sir.

Khalil Mack with 5 sacks today. That's good, I think.

    Damn the schedule differences.

Steelers 8-5 behind the 8-5 Jets

Jets top 7 opponents on their schedule for the season currently have 44 wins. Steelers top 7 opponents have 67 already.

Jets tougher games: Patriots 2x, Bills 2x, Eagles, Redskins, Texans

    Steelers: Bengals x2, @New England, Arizona, @Seattle, @Chiefs, Denver

    That fucking Ravens game....damnit

What is it about steeler fans that they always want to bitch about scheduling and tie breakers? The amount of excuses that come out of Pittsburgh is insane.

I am the only Steelers fan I've even heard mention it. To my knowledge I've mentioned it once before either 2 or 3 weeks ago.Tie breakers are their own damn fault....can't lose to Ravens.

It is what it is. I'm just pissy because they are dangerous I feel if they can get to the playoffs. Sometimes the schedule is an advantage and sometimes it isn't. The NFL does a good job basing the schedules on prior year division finish. It's a significant difference in schedule strength....nothing unjust about it.

How is anything I posted an excuse?

Mack now leading NFL in sacks.....but Watt only 1/2 sack behind

DBs are doing a much better job these days at knocking the ball loose from the receiver after they first touch the ball. However the refs are letting them get away way too much with grabbing the arm BEFORE the ball arrives, which is highly unfair. Saw this twice so far today, once to the advantage of the Browns and the other just now to the advantage of the Patriots(4th down play for Tex in the red zone) who are one of the best team at knocking the ball loose legitimately.

Then why complain that the first place Steelers have a harder schedule than the last place Jets?

I don't like that they are allowed a little grabbing just before the ball gets there but they are IMO pretty consistent with what they do allow. It seems as if they are allowing defensive coverage guys to cover a little more physically now than they did the first 1/2 of he season, though I could be being deceived by my eyes and only watch a small % of plays throughout the entire league.

Because it affects my team at this point [emoji3]

It stinks because right now they are on the wrong side of it but it is fair on how it's done and I cannot think of a better way.

I just went digging on comparing their schedules...didn't realize it was that big of a difference, but it's just the rotation of which divisions play which divisions.

I've said it all along since it happened....that choke job ending versus the lowly Ravens will be THE reason in my eyes if they do not make it....nothing the NFL or anyone has done poorly or incorrectly.

I know.....but think how great it would be for you guys if they met up with your Bengals in Cincy in prime time in the #3 vs #6 and Cincy won? Would kill about 3 different monkeys off your backs

I would be okay with that if they broke Ben's leg.

Only 2 games are based on last years finish (you play the same finishing team from the 2 AFC divisions that you do not play in their entirety), everything else is a simple rotation of divisions, obviously cycling through 4 years. Unfortunately the AFC North didn't have the NFC East or AFC South in the rotation this year.
  • Heretic
I look at it as less an issue with scheduling and more an issue with the NFL (and pro sports in general) putting such a premium on winning a divisional title, which is just stupid when you have eight divisions with only four teams each. There are two divisions with no teams remotely deserving of the playoffs (AFC South, NFC East) that will have a representative, while teams with actual legitimacy are fighting to get in.

Like with the NBA and how the West would have 10 teams above a .550 winning percentage and the East only would have 6 with winning records; but both conferences get 8 teams in no matter what.
