2015 NFL Regular Season Chatter

I think the Patriots are fucked especially Tom Brady. He knew.
  • thavoice
I would suspend him for 4 preseason games.

Just simply amazing what the Cowboys front office continues to do. I was hoping Dallas would try and sign him but figured he'd want to go somewhere else. Just read that Collins is a Cowboys fan so I'm not surprised he signed with them when everyone else can only offer you the same amount of money. Just makes me hate the Chaz Green pick even more. I know he is supposed to be a good player and would have been a starter in a year or 2 but the Cowboys had a lot of other needs they could have used that 3rd round pick on.

Could hand the ball off to a blindfolded monkey, behind that O-Line, and he'd go for 1000+.

Imagine many teams wanted to sign him. As an UFA you want to go a place, of course, where you have the best chance at making the roster.

The salaries are crazy for guys like this. UFA's are signed with a 3 year rookie min salary. They get a very modest signing bonus. Players are only paid during the season. Rookies only get like a grand a week (plus food, lodging, etc) during rookie mini camps and training camp. The actual salary they sign for doesnt kick in until the regular season. It makes it much easier to cut an undrafted free agent than it is someone you drafted even in the 7th round...as you pay een the 7th rounder much more of a signing bonus.

I imagine that Collins will make the squad......if they put him on the practice squad any team can pick him up. Unless, of course, he sucks in the preseason. Sometimes a team will hide a rookie in the preseason so other teams dont get a look at him because they intend to put them on the practice squad. Not sure that would work with this guy though as he is already well known.

"Imagine" Collins will make the squad? I'd be floored if he wasn't a starter.

Yeah don't know what thavoice is talking about lol. I doubt Collins will never even be close to seeing the practice squad in his NFL career. I don't know if he will start right away or not but if he does it will be at guard and probably take Leary's spot at LG.

He is probably the best O-Lineman in the draft lol.

    Top two at worst (Scherff).

He's overrated and a head case. I expect him to be out of the league in 3 years; there's a reason he was passed over 250+ times.

Because teams didnt want to draft a guy being questioned in a double homicide, then were told he wouldnt sign with them if it was after the 3rd?

This sounds like a level headed, non-prima donna player who will have a productive 10+ seasons in the league. Get real. This guy may have talent but so do a lot of nut jobs.

If I'm correct, he had dated the girl who got murdered. He wasn't a suspect but they were questioning him, hoping he might know someone who did do it.

    This is correct.

I agree with Sleeper that the agents telling teams not to draft him is primadonnaish, it is the smart play for someone who is 1st round talent. I would tell my son the same thing.

Then if he isn't a suspect, why were teams hesitant to draft him? If there is smoke, there's fire and his comments about "not signing unless draft by such and such" tell me he is a arrogant prima-donna thug who hangs around a bad crowd. Not worth the headache.

Not so sure they came out and said before/during the draft that he wasnt a suspect...was probably too early to say either way.

    He was never a suspect.

Or even a person of interest. Dallas is going to make out on this gamble.

I doubt it. No way Dallas has superior info than the other 31 teams on this guy.

All 32 teams called his agent....
