Hey Johnny Bashers...Name That Quarter5back
-
FootwedgeFrom the talk shows to the TV media...and to all the idiots that claim "our quarterback is not on the roster". Let's see how smart you are. "let's shit can Johnny after 6 quarters" (Please don't count the 80 yard touchdown drive against Buffalo. We need to forget that trivial event.)
Case history number 1.
This quarterback in his rookie season completed 38% of his passes. He threw 6 touchdowns and 24 interceptions. His second year? 54.% 13 TD's and 22 picks. He later went on to go 4-0 in Super Bowls and is now a member of the Hall of Fame? Who is this bum that should have been run out of town after 6 quarters? Never mind the immaculate reception...it was all luck.
Case history number 2.
This guy should have been shit canned after 6 quarters too. His first season he started and played in 5 games. He completed 52% of his passes throwing 8 interceptions and 3 touchdown passes. His second year 54%..8 TD's and 13 inte4rcepyion. Later, he was named NFL player of the year twice, was a Super Bowl winner and at the time of his retirement, he had the highest quarterback rating in the history of the league (now third) Who is this left handed POS who succeeded Joe Montana in San Francisco?
Case history number 3
This guy had a quarterback rating of 78 over his first 2 seasons completing 62% of his passes throwing 37 TD's and 37 picks. He is the only quarterback to win 3 consecutive MVP. He is the only quarterback in NFL history to throw for over 70,000 yards, over 6,000 completions., and over 10,000 pass attempts. Oh BTW, he won a Super Bowl. This guy should have been "voted off the roster" after 6 quarters, because we here in Cleveland...we know our shit. Not gonna give this one away...but he played almost his entire career at the at Lambeau Field.
Case history number 4.
Now here's a guy that should have been cut after 5 quarters...not 6. I know this because I'm a Cleveland fan and by default, a talent expert...especially at the quarterback position. This Cowboy completed 53% of his passes as a rookie with 9 TD's and 18 picks. His second year? 57%. 11 TD's and 18 picks. He was pulled several times in his rookie season.
Maybe he had 4 3rd down conversions dropped by his receivers like Manziel has had happened his first 6 quarters...who knows. This ungodly piece of shit won 3 Super Bowls and is a member of the HOF.
Case history number 5.
This guy is still playing and most...including me think he's the best that ever played the game at quarterback. But he should have been discarded after 6 quarters as well. His first season he completed only 57% throwing 28 picks versus only 26 TD's. How the Colts ever kept this guy is beyond me. Shouldn't have been on the roster after the 98 season.
The best thing to happen to you Johnn is that management acquiesces to the know it all Cleveland fan (sic) masses, and then you can rub it in our faces whenever it's your time to wreck the league. -
GoChiefsDamn. He didn't jump off the bridge after all. [emoji17]

jmoglol, failwedge returns! Next will be his take on what the Breowns will need to have happen for them to make the playoffs this season!
People thought you jumped off a bridge after how bad your butt buddy, I mean Johnny has played.
As a BROWNS fan (not of any individual player) I hope to God he turns out good. I just don't happen to believe he has the physical tools that the QBs you are referencing did/do. He's short, average NFL arm strength, and average NFL accuracy, all of those QBs were exceptional in at least some of those areas. -

Hurt in his second pro start.
but played really good in college.
I go with Study 6. -
jmogFailwedge has always used a "move the goalposts" kind of debate logic. Once he is about to be or is proven wrong, move the goalposts.
It was how good Johnny was going to be and "wreck the league" 2 weeks ago. When he crapped the bed for 1.5 weeks now it's "give it a few years"! -
Lovejoy1984I thought Johnny Would be 13-2 minimum by this point?

Show any proof with actual on the field evidence that Johnny was ready week 1 to lead this team to 13-2...in 6 quarters he has been terrible. As bad as Hoyer was (and he was terrible), Johnny was as bad or worse over the last 2 games.Footwedge;1688765 wrote:Would be vying for a playoff spot had Kojak not insisted on playing the 3 times cut undrafted free agent out of MSU. -

Shouldn't have mattered if Johnny came in and wrecked the league like you said he would.Footwedge;1688765 wrote:Would be vying for a playoff spot had Kojak not insisted on playing the 3 times cut undrafted free agent out of MSU. -

At least with Hoyer in there it looked like they were running an offense, mostly cause he wasn't scared to stay in the pocket like Johnny was. Manziel was looking for an escape route before the ball was ever snapped on most plays.jmog;1688766 wrote:Show any proof with actual on the field evidence that Johnny was ready week 1 to lead this team to 13-2...in 6 quarters he has been terrible. BRFWelcome back, Footwedge!
We need a new quarterback. -

7 quarters...10 points.....including the 80 yard touchdown drive.Let's see how smart you are. "let's shit can Johnny after 6 quarters" (Please don't count the 80 yard touchdown drive against Buffalo. We need to forget that trivial event.)
He's jumpy in the pocket....throwing off his wrong foot...holding the ball too long...and his injury is his own damn fault.
He needs some competition at training camp next year. for his own good, and the good of the team. -

I respect your posts Hits...always have. But your position here stinks. You were the one telling all the tribe fans to relax when it came to Mr buck eighty Lonnie Chisenhall small sample size and all. 3 months of number 1 draft pick Lonnie. For a period of 3 solid months or half the season. But now Manziel is washed up after 6 quarters...
The next time you show patience on a tribe hitter I,m going to nail you on it. I listed 5 examples of HOFers or future HOFers. You think they looked like Golden bricks after 6 quarters? The numbers don't lie.
OIC are the fanbase so off on this. -
Footwedge
If you think Hoyer looked better thannManziel then you are a fool. As posted above, Manziel had 4 droppedv3rd down conversions in 6 quarters. That's more droppedvpassesvthannHoyer saw in 12 games.se-alum;1688769 wrote:At least with Hoyer in there it looked like they were running an offense, mostly cause he wasn't scared to stay in the pocket like Johnny was. Manziel had one bad quarter..the second against the Bengals. The brilliant Kyle Shanahan pointed out that Johnny was staked to a 17-0 deficit before he had made one mistake. Then he pressed as any rookie would do.
But go ahead Cleveland, chase him out of town. He will wreck the league someday...same as Bradshaw, Young, Aikman, Favre and Peyton. -

Oh, Cmon Wedge....you know I've been light on you compared to others regarding your "unbridled optimism". If you want to use baseball analogies, then you have to liken his college ball as AAA, and you and I both know there are plenty of AAA players whose numbers never translate at the MLB level.I respect your posts Hits...always have. But your position here stinks. You were the one telling all the tribe fans to relax when it came to Mr buck eighty Lonnie Chisenhall small sample size and all. 3 months of number 1 draft pick Lonnie. Continuing with the Chisenhall analogy....I don't have to tell you what the Tribe did when he faltered....they never completely gave up on him....but they did bring in competition, and forced him to EARN his spot. I like the way Lonnie responded...by working hard, and elevating his game. Even now...his position is still a bit tenuous.
Now this is what I said...
So, in terms of patience, I'm being, completely consistent here. In no way am I "shit canning" Manziel. I listed a few things that he needs to work on...not the least of which is learning to keep himself healthy. I am being consistent here too, because you probably have seen me post before that I don't care how good a player is, if he's not on the field playing, he's worthless. Manziel did not score any points with me on that play where he was injured...lowering his head for an extra yard on a 1st and ten play. SMH.He's jumpy in the pocket....throwing off his wrong foot...holding the ball too long...and his injury is his own damn fault.
He needs some competition at training camp next year. for his own good, and the good of the team
Johnny has a lot to learn just to become an average NFL QB.
The Browns cannot afford to just hand him the position...they need to bring in an established veteran QB next year....one that pushes Manziel to do his best, and one that is capable of leading the team to the playoffs in the case that Manziel fails.
I do not want to see the Browns use their #1 pick(s) next year on a QB.
Since Manziel is hurt and will not play, as a Browns fan, I want to see Connor Shaw. Might as well see what he's got.
We've seen enough of Hoyer, and he's not going to be here next year anyway. -
FootwedgePluto's article today was as biased as it was disgusting entitled "Rookie quarterback is out of his league in the NF"L. Really Pluto? Based on his 6 quarters? Let's review what Johnny did.
Enter Manziel in his first NFL game down 20-3. 80 yards in 9 plays...touchdown. But Johnny"can';t nake plays in this league". According to Pluto, Manziel is "miles away" and "is a mess". Try pedlling that sgit to Buffalo's defense Terry. Johnny ripped them a new one...something Hoyer couldn't do in 3 plus quarters. Then he goes on to say that Manziel had 9 out of 12 3 and outs. Let's review thoe Terry, OK?
Down 7 zip against Cincy. on the first offensive series, the Browns ran the ball 3 times and came up a 1/2 yard short. All Manziel's fault there I'm sure. Now down 10 zip. Manziel gets his second series. On second and nine. Manziel does play action, turns around deep in the pocket and gets pancaked immediately. 3rd and long. Again the avalanche comes in.... Manziel dodges the bullet, scrambling left, and lofts a picturesque pass 30 yards down the field to the waiting hands of Hawkins. He drops it. Selective memory there Pluto eh?
The third series has Manziel trting to rally this team down 17 nothing. On third and long, again Manziel escape san avalanche of Bengal pass rushers, rolls out and lofts a perfect pass over the linebacker into the waiting arms of Dray. He drops it. Forget about that too didn't you Pluto.
Now fast forward to the Carolina game. On third and 6, Manziel zips in a pass to their so called all pro tight end for a first down, and he drops it. Later, after a horrible snap from center on a quick hitch to Gordon. Manziel throws a low pass that should have been caught by Gordon...and was caught by Gordon according to the NFL replay analyst, but overturned.
OIC can a town railroad their franchise quarterback right out of town. I listed 5 of the NFL's best quarterbacks to ever play the game and listed their pathetic auditions in the league. But in Cleveland, 6 quarters is plenty of time to pull the plug.
On Saturday, I'll be celebrating the 50 year anniversary of the last Cleveland championship. I was there at that game. Deal Johnny in the off season, and keep the factory of sadness steamrolling onward. -

Give it up man, he's terrible right now. Maybe he will end up being decent but he is a long ways away from being even decent and being able to win games in the NFL. He is easily one of the worst QB's in the league right now.Footwedge;1689005 wrote:Pluto's article today was as biased as it was disgusting entitled "Rookie quarterback is out of his league in the NFL".
