I still think the guy is an incredible talent, but given all of the extenuating circumstances. he truly is a fucking idiot in getting so shitfaced that he couldn't honor his responsibilities on Saturday.

If he grows up, he will get a great opportunity...somewhere. I'm thinking that he will never grow up.
Unfortunately, the kid was born with a silver spoon in his mouth, and doesn't need football to continue living the life he is accustomed to. If he needed football, I would be much more confident that he will eventually "get it". I know you think I'm a Hoyer lover, and a hater of Manziel, which isn't true at all. I defended the pick of Manziel at #22 because I seen him as a boom or bust QB, and it would've been good value if he was even a decent QB. My dislike of him only started when rumblings came out that he wasn't putting in the work, and it seems he never will.

Unless it is as a party planner.

So you dont think he needs his football contract $$$ to continue his lifestyle?

No. His parents are multi-millionaires. That wasn't student loan money Johnny was flashin' in all those casino pics when he was at A&M.

You really think his family will continue to support and give him all that money as an adult?

Much diff in college when he was big man on campus, not allowed to have a job to support himself, and a lucrative pro contract and endorsements awaiting.

Doubt they would need to. He got a big Nike deal. He's already worth millions.

With his lifestyle even a nike deal wont be able to save him. Many NFLers end up broke, and I can see him doing the same thing. Buying friendship isnt cheap and unless he can sustain some sort of NFL career, get to that second NFL contract, he will have a starring role in the sequel to ESPN's Dollar and Sense series....

His parents are with $50 million I read. Generational wealth from oil and real estate. He won't need the NFL money.
  • SportsAndLady
His parents have oil money. He'll be fine without football and his couple million dollar contract

If he truly believes he is set for life then yeah, I wonder how serious he is gonna take his profession.

Sounds like he's regurgitating the same shit his said last week in his presser today. Let him go "be accountable" and "work harder" somewhere else.

Manziell: "Either I'm going to learn or I'm going to be finding something else to do."

    Well said.

You are an effin idiot though. You have 90% of the local media wrongfully casting you as a bust....and your solution is to miss a mandatory rehab meeting. Brilliant. When I was 22. I did some really stupid shit too. But then again, I wasn't an NFL quarterback.

The 7 quarter know-it-alls were lined up on the Les Levine show today. Manziel may get dealt before next season, but not because he can't play as the know it alls claim.

I'll have to admit at this point, I don't know what to think . Johnny is like Josh Gordon without having showed anything on he field . If people around here don't like him, it's his own damn fault for creating the environment of distrust that now surrounds him. SMH. I really want him to succeed here. I think the fans would quickly embrace him if next year he turned it around and showed the talent and the maturity to lead this team forward .... But the worst thing is that he may have lost the guys in the locker room whose support and confidence he NEEDS.
That said, I don't want to see the Browns jettison him if they have to spend their top draft picks to get yet another QB.
With Gordon, Gilbert, and Johnny's non- seasons... It seems this organization has wasted another year..

I'd argue that if Alex Mack doesn't go down, we're not having this conversation.

This. I don't even think Manziel sees the field this season if Mack doesn't go down. Run game went from like top 5 to bottom 5.

Agreed^^^.... But what has happened, happened. Where do you go from here? Do we just pretend all is well?
