Browns Thread for Iggy Only

We should have been playing Johnny all year but Pettine just insisted on fellating Hoyer at every turn.

If Johnny was that terrible over the course of a year and never improved we would know by now and been in position to take Rapeis because our record would have sucked.

Instead we won a bunch of meaningless games with a QB everyone knew was just a placeholder and now we don't know what we have with Johnny and aren't in position to take the QB everyone is raving about.

I hope Pettine enjoyed those wins with his butt boy because when he is out of a job next year we will all be able to point to that as the reason.
The only way they could have played johnny rehab all season was to delay the start of the season till he learned the play book(which he still hasnt learned). we know what we have in manziel, a over matched under prepared drunk that played in a gimmick college offense. every other team knew that also, thats why he was still available for the browns to draft.

LOLOL...the Johnny hater know-it-alls hard at work. Keep it up. Manziel, if he stays off the blow, will have the last laugh. I just love the "7 quarter clubbers" that think they actually know something. Manziel completed 69% of his passes in the SEC...but it was all due to "a gimmick offense". LMAO.

The "7 quarter clubbers" don't sound any more ridiculous than you bragging about college stats and saying IF he stays off cocaine.

    "I seen Manziel play 7 quarters...and he sucks"/ the clubbers...LOLOL.

According to many, Manziel was rated the best football player to ever play at College Station. But...7 quarters in the NFL proves he sucks. In the meantime, the first year resumes of Steve Young, Terry Bradshaw. Brett Favre, Troy Aikaman were a lot worse than Manziel's 7 quarters. But, but. but....

The Manziel nuthuggers all like to claim everyone bases their decision on 7 quarters of football. Personally i look at what he did in college . Nothing he did at A&M translated to success at the next level. He is just another in the long list "system" qbs that put up big numbers at the collegiate level and bombed in the NFL. Why dont you list all the QBs that came out of the college shotgun spread attack that Manziel played in that succeeded in the NFL , that shouldnt take long.

If it wasn't for Michael Evans nobody knows who-the-fuck Johnny Manzier is. I hope he lets Evans keep the Heisman at his place half the year because all Manzier did was take the snap, close his eyes and wing it like a hand guernade somewhere in the vicinity of where Evans was supposed to be. Listen up Wedgie...it didn't take me the entire 7 qtrs to realize what a turd Haslam shat...I called it after only 1...but then I am a lot smarter than all of NEO collectively.

I was looking at this sites Browns off-season thread and it is a complete embarrassment totally devoid of news.

No wonder they are so intimidated by the inclusive nature of my thread in which everyone is allowed to post and share their opinions. It is no wonder their has degenerated into the drivel it has.

Besides the Combine and the new logo, what "news" is there really out there? Until free agency, it's kind of the slow season for Browns talk. Right now I think people are focusing on the Cavs.

Well from now until the draft you cannot really put much stock into anything that gets out there, and that goes league wide. Information, misinformation, etc....
  • Tiernan
Hey BR...what do you think the new logo is gonna be?

...you just know it will turn out to be some kind of complete disaster, right?
  • BR1986FB
I've seen a couple of things. That image of Paul Brown is kind of strange and I've seen another of the Dawg Pound Dawg with a dumbbell in it's mouth?
  • IggyPride00
It should be crystal clear to all at this point that if the Browns did anything to bring Bradford here he would get injured immediately after Schwartz blows as assignment and Bradford gets knocked into next week.

I would prefer not to waste any assets on him. If you must bring him in wait until the Rams cut him, but then again Jimmy is tighter with his cash than a virgin on her wedding night so I am not quite sure what the solution is.
  • SportsAndLady
Are virgins on their wedding night stingy on their financial spending? LOL

I think he meant anatomically tight. Still a stupid joke regardless.

You get a stopgap like Sanchez or McCown, if Bradford is unavailable, build the fuck out of the defense and O-Line, and hope they can win ugly with a game manager QB.

In order for them to have any success this season, that defense is going to have to be stellar and they are going to have to be able to run the ball. Ride out another journeyman QB and hope there's a legit one (Cardale?) available in next years draft.

I actually would be fine with Sanchez. For all his issues he has been to 2 AFC title games and won 4 road playoff games.

I would much rather pay him a reasonable amount for a year/2 (we are swimming in cap space) than bring back Hoyer or kick the tires on McCown.
  • BR1986FB
Sanchez would be my top free agent QB. Is he going to win you a championship? Probably not but he has been to AFC title games and can win with a strong defense/running game. I'd take him over Hoyer in that I think he (Sanchez) can make more throws than Hoyer can. He's not a long term solution but could bridge the gap until they find someone. With the available FA QB "talent", they are going to have to build the defense & O-Line to have any chance to compete.

I'm not in the "trade for Bradford" camp, even if he is available. Would he be an upgrade? Sure but he can't stay healthy.

This organization is a complete abomination.

Not content to have posted yet another losing season, we go out and sign a 36 year old journeyman QB coming off a 1-10 season for the worst team in the league.

Farmer may be the biggest joke of a GM in the NFL.

Not sure what world you're living in. The QB we signed today is only at the ripe young age of 35.

They basically gave your boy the starting job. You should be excited.

    Are you kidding me?

After seeing Pettine's' love affair with Hoyer last year, I am 110% confident he will once again be on his knees servicing McCown the second he walks through that door just like he did with Hoyer.

Pettine has hated Johnny since the minute they took him, and is the type of coach that would rather lose with veterans who have no future than allow his young QB to play and go through growing pains.

Pettine/Farmer/Haslem are easily the worst coach/Gm/Owner combo in the league because of their excessive smugness and arrogance. You'd think listening to these guys that they have won multiple Super Bowl's and that their shit in fact didn't stink they think that highly of themselves. I would hope yet another piss poor season would at least get Pettine/Farmer canned, but then again Jimmy is an inept owner who is a tight wad and not committed to winning. He probably would rather keep losing than bring in some real grown ups that would require him financially to start doing what it take to actually win in that league.

Yes, he'd rather lose and get fired than chance winning.
