2015 Browns Offseason Thread

It would be dumb to not look for a potential starter in FA or the draft. Don't mistake that for trading up for Mariota or Winston though. I'd hope they don't blindly give Manziel the reins based on what he's shown. Gotta have some competition and Hoyer won't be back.

I think you obviously are always going to be looking in a situation like the Browns are in. But, the way I read it is Pettine doesn't see a starter on the roster. That seems more like a "we need to get a guy" than "we believe JFF is capable, but we won't turn down other options if they appear."

Looks like he said something along the lines of "pursuing this off season as if he needed a starting QB"

Pettine's comments were to the effect that they don't feel they can rely on Manziel being the starter because of his issue. He said he could end up being the starter but right now it's an issue.

He was also asked yesterday afternoon if it was safe to assume that the starting QB wasn't currently on the roster. He said that wasn't necessarily the case but said it was safe to assume that there would be a veteran QB in camp competing for the starting job.

The best part was when he "politically correctly" ripped Kyle Shanahan a new asshole.

His "sex" comment blew up Twitter and probably firmly entrenched him as a Cleveland "fan favorite."

Farmer's texting "gaffe" may have swung the balance of power in the organization more towards Pettine.

Tiernan's attempt at baiting is really pathetic and really ineffective.

So about par for the course. All he needs to do is add a lie and we'll have the trifecta.

I agree that #2 is not the future.

Multiple sources have said the helmet will be a diff brighter orange with a brown facemask. Leaked photos are the dumbest.

I would be happy with an upgrade like this. I think we could bring in Bradford and have a legit starting QB in this league who isn't over the hill. The only times we have pulled this off in the past were for older guys like Garcia, Delhomme, & Dilfer

I know he is injury prone but if healthy I like it.

All depends what they give up for him. I would prefer the Rams cuts him (most likely won't happen), and then the Browns sign him in FA. I don't want to be in a position where the Browns give up a valuable pick, and then they are also taking on his contract (although there is only one year left on it).

I would be a fan of getting Bradford.

    Maybe a 3rd.

In all honesty we are taking justin gilbert and Johnny foosball with 1st rounders. If I could have an asset or a potential draft bust I'll take the asset.

Not going to happen. Might as well say you'd be ok with getting Luck as well. Has about the same % chance of happening. Why in the fuck would the rams get rid of bradford? Makes no sense. Use your head.

He's only an asset if he isn't hurt and even then he isn't a top 10 QB

Wouldn't mind Bradford because he's a lot better than our other options, but it's not like we'd be adding a top QB.

Are you suggesting to give up a first round pick, because gilbert (who still has plenty of time to figure it out, lets stop acting like he is a bust) and jff haven't worked out yet? If so, that is beyond idiotic logic.

If healthy, which is a big IF, I think the Browns are a playoff team with him.

Oh I agree he definitely makes this team playoff caliber.

I'm just not so sure he can stay healthy and I don't know how good he's going to be after all these injuries.

But doesn't hurt to give him a shot. Can't be much worse than our other options.

I would be fine with getting Luck, too.
